This Post’s For You

Dear infrequent readers & one time readers of my blog,

Hi how are ya? Yes you, don’t look around or think that I’m meaning someone else. It’s you that this blog post is all about and addressed to. Yes – look in the mirror or any surfaces that gives off your reflection – I mean you and you itself! I know who my regular readers and commenters are and even a few who used to comment or raise their asses from the dead to come and read and comment once in a blue moon. I know them well enough and I appreciate them a lot. I also would like to appreciate and get to know you better but you just won’t give me the chance.

I know you do come to my blog and read it once in a while. I can see the places highlighted in the visitors widget that I have embedded in the sidebar. Oh you didn’t notice it did you? It’s that’s handy little thing that reads ‘Live Traffic Feed’ and it’s from Feedjit. It’s rather nice. It lets me know that someone from a particular place (it could be the server of their ISP) has been visiting quite often. Now a big city or town I can understand but when the same smaller places keep popping up, I know that it’s you. I also get an idea that it’s the same person due to the kind of blog posts or categories that you visit – yes even that pops up in Feedjit. So quit hiding and come over to the comment section and say hi. I even know some of the people who do read my blog regularly but I don’t know why they don’t comment. Can’t be bothered, have nothing to say, do not want to reveal themselves or cannot find the comment link – take your pic.

Please delurk and do drop me a line in the comment section and say hi. And keep visiting. And hopefully keep commenting.

Sincerely yours

Roshan aka Count Roshculla

Forbidden World

Roger Corman is is an Academy Award winning American film producer, director and actor who has mostly made B-movies with amazing regularity and has helped launch the careers of several actors and mentored a few award winning directors as well. Surprisingly I haven’t watched a single movie of his (that I remember; it’s possible that I saw some of them when I was really young but can’t recall them) – and I’m planning on changing that. This afternoon I watched the first of what I guess will be a huge list of his films that I will end up watching. And that movie is a scifi  horror, a rip off of Alien, called Forbidden World.

The cast includes Jesse Vint, Dawn Dunlap, June Chadwick (‘Lydia’ from V), Linden Chiles, Fox Harris, Raymond Oliver, Scott Paulin, Michael Bowen, and Don Olivera. The movie is about a a genetic research station is located on the remote desert planet of Xarbia, sometime in the future. The research team there are working on  created an experimental lifeform they have designated “Subject 20” using synthetic DNA called Proto B and is intended to fight a recent food crisis. However Subject 20 mutates beyond their expectations and killing the test animals and a lab staff. Professional troubleshooter Michael Colby is called to the station and heads there in his ship along with his robot assistant Sam.

Once he settles in Colby decides to terminate Subject 20 to prevent further deaths which the staff of the station  – the head of research, Gordon Hauser, his assistant Barbara Glaser, lab assistant Tracy Baxter, the station head of security and Cal Timbergen the chief of bacteriology – are initially dead set against. However Subject 20 continues to mutant and kills off more members and finally the truth comes out that it also has human DNA.  its method of killing is most horrifying: this beast injects its prey with the Proto B DNA strain which then proceeds to remove all genetic differences within specific cells. The result is a terrifying death as the victim’s living body slowly erodes into gelatinous pile of pure protein which subject 20 then uses for food. After its final mutation, where the creature evolves into a huge insect-like being with a large mouth full of sharp teeth and attacks the center. In the end the creature is eventually slain when it eats Cal’s cancer-ridden liver, fed to it by Mike after a dying Cal begs him to do it and its body genetically self-destructing from within. Mike and Tracy are the only survivors.

To be honest I watched it just to see June Chadwick – she is so hot! There’s some bad acting, a bunch of nudity, with a sex scene and also a shower scene between the two ladies!!! It’s definetly a B movie. 5 outta 10!

New Ring Purchased

I think some of you readers may remember that I wear cheap rings on my fingers. I used to have 4 but two of them broke, including the thumb ring that I liked to fiddle with a lot. Check out the pic in an earlier blog post. The thumb ring is the big one at the back. Another one, the one on the right has broken off much earlier while the thumb ring actually broke only around a month ago. And so I was left with the 2 – the one of the left and the center one.

Today I happened to see some ads for Jabong which is an online shopping website for clothes, shoes, accessories and jewellery among other things. The ad showed off some rings as well and I was curious to see more. Well they have an amazing selection of these awesome looking rings from Perora, Reev & Johareez. There are so many that I want that I was going nuts just looking at the selection. I decided to buy just one as I have some other purchases for the month. Maybe at a later date I will buy a few more and use one of the coupons they gave me for discounts.

So for the time being I just bought the one – pictured over here. I can’t wait for it to reach me.

Arsenal 3 Fulham 3

This is the pits. Arsenal drew at home to Fulham 3-3. They were leading 2-0 after 24 minutes with both Giroud & Lukas Podolski scoring a goal each and looked to be coasting to a good and well needed home win. But Fulham’s new signing Dimitar Berbatov had other intentions. He screamed and swore at  his teammates and inspired them to battle it out, scoring a goal in the 29th minute before setting up Alex Kacaniklic to equalise. This was shocking;  how can things go so badly for Arsenal?

The team went back to the dressing room to recoup but things looked to be going their London rivals way in the second half as Fulham attacked back at a doubtful looking Gunners side. A foul by Santi Carzola saw Berbatov’s step up to take a spot-kick and give the visitors the lead in the 67th minute. Things looked so bleak but Giroud levelled just two minutes later giving Arsenal a lifeline and a boost. Now the Gunners seemed more attack oriented and it looked like they would find a way to win. And in stoppage time, they got a penalty for a handball and Mikel Arteta stepped up to take the penalty and the bastard hit a weak shot that Fulham goalie 40 year old Mark Schwarzer saved easily.

This is the weakest looking Arsenal side that I have seen ever since I started watching & supporting the club from 1998. We don’t stand a chance to win anything. A League Cup maybe, if we are lucky. Arsene Wenger should be ashamed and he should step down – that would be the decent thing to do. Really good players are not staying on with us and the big name players from other clubs do not want to join us. This is a joke. We are no longer title contenders – all because of Wenger! Resign!

URL Registered For 2013

I have some hopes for my blog, humble as it is. I’ve been blogging since 2002, althought it was sporadic till early 2005. Mainly due to the fact that I didn’t own a computer and internet connection at home. So I would go to an internet cafe 3 times a week and spend a few hours each time in blogging and reading blogs and surfing the net. I created an account with bloggers and got a blogspot blog up and running while living in Calicut. At the time it was mainly to keep a record of my life in Calicut and as such I focussed a bit more on that but soon it became a general life blog. But it became a huge mess and in October of 2005, I stopped using that blog and moved to a new blogspot account in countroshculla.blogspot.in.

With the new blog I was not only more frequent but I developed my style and content to make it more about not just stuff that happened to me, movies/tv/music reviews but also about my thoughts, feelings and ideas – which was missing in the old blog. Dare I say that I had a purpose in blogging now, expressing myself in the best way that I know how to. This continued on in 2006 until the 1st of January, 2011 when I setup this website & blog. And you can go through the archives to see how it has gone on since that time.I had booked my URL from Canoetech and for my webserver space, I chose Total Choice Hosting – both recommended to me by my cousin. The first is run by his college friend and the second was a client of his then employers and now he works for them directly.

So, as for the URL, November 14 is the last date to renew it as I had registered it in November of 2006. At Rs.500 for a year I should be renewing it for a few years at a stretch but I purposely do it only for a year – just to keep in touch with the owner and see if I get some offers once in a while. Anyways, today I renewed the URL for another year – besides it would be prudent to see if the world ends on December 21 of this year or not.

The Ugly Head Of Divorce

I just back after spending the evening with a friend and former colleague. I had known that something was not all right with him, having heard some rumours a few weeks back. I still didn’t have all the pieces of the puzzle but was still was hopeful that things were not as bad as I had heard it out to be. I tried to contact him as soon as I heard that but he kept saying that he was busy and stuff. Finally two days ago, we chatted online and made arrangements to meet up today evening post work. But by then I had already got confirmation of what he was about to tell me.

He had gotten married sometime back in June/July of last year. Yes, just 2011. We last met in January of that year when he quit the company we both worked for and I haven’t seen him since. I chatted with him on & off for a few weeks but hadn’t spoken to him in 3 months when I first heard that he had gotten married and saw pics of him and his new bride on Facebook. He had labeled them as “Starting a new life” and I was happy for him as were the rest of us. I didn’t speak to him then either but sent him my heartiest congratulations and best wishes. And then I haven’t heard from him or about him until last month. While chatting with another colleague I came to know about this fellow’s situation and when we met him today for a drink or two, he opened up and told me the same thing.

The marriage was a mismatch from day one, a disaster that unfurled after a  few weeks. She was more outgoing, wanted more material things and wanted to go out more and enjoy the good life. He prefers a quite life, walking back home from work even when it takes 45 minutes or so, stopping to only buy groceries and once in a week have a couple of drinks in a bar. She created a fuss and they  fought regularly because of it. He preferred to stay at home most of his free time – she wanted to go out. Plus she didn’t want to work but wanted to spend a lot of money hence she had to get a job and resented him for the same. He didn’t earn enough for her lifestyle. To make matters worse her mother interfered in their fights and egged her daughter on. Also he didn’t get any support from his family, as his mother and relatives kept to the sidelines.

And now they are headed for a divorce. The case has been files and she wants a huge chunk of his money for her “troubles”. He is not contesting it, he just wants to get it over with although he can’t believe what has happened. He hired a lawyer to take care of his side of the case and hopefully in a few weeks things can be sorted out. I feel bad for the guy.

3 Dracula Movies

Fascinated to the point of adulation & devotion of millions, Dracula has always been a beloved character of the masses. I’m guessing that he is the one fictional character who has been portrayed the most all over the world – in tv, movies & stages. There is no more alluring or dangerous character than he. I checked out 3 movies – in different decades – which tell his story based on the original book by Bram Stoker.

Dracula (1931) the Universal classic black n white film directed by Tod Browning and starred the legendary Bela Lugosi as the famous count. Renfiled goes to Castle Dracula on a business matter to discuss the count’s decision to lease Carfax Abbey in London. After the deal is done Dracula feeds on Renfield and turns him into a raving lunatic who will do anything the master wishes. Together they travel to London on a ship, during which Dracula kills all the people. Renfield is the only person found alive and is sent to Dr. Seward’s sanitarium. Some nights later at a London theatre, Dracula meets Dr. Seward, who is with a group in a box seat area. Lucy who is Dr. Seward’s daughter Mina’s best friend is quite taken by the count and that night, after Lucy falls asleep in bed, Dracula enters her room as a bat and feasts on her blood. She dies in an autopsy theatre the next day after a string of transfusions, and two tiny marks on her throat are discovered.

Dr. Seward has Professor Abraham Van Helsing to assist in Renfield case and the latter suspects the work of a vampire. Dracula meanwhile has turned his attentions to Mina and visits her in her sleep. Later when Dracula visits with Dr. Seward and Mina, Van Helsing and Mina’s fiance Johnathon Harker notice that Dracula does not have a reflection in a mirror. When Van Helsing shows this “most amazing phenomenon” to Dracula, he reacts violently, smashes the mirror and leaves. Van Helsing deduces that Dracula is the vampire behind the recent tragedies. Lucy meanwhile has risen as a vampire and is attacking the local children. Van Helsing & Harker find Dracula trying to make off with Mina after they follow Renfiled to the abbey. When Harker shouts to Mina, Dracula sees them, thinking Renfield had led them there. He strangles Renfield and tosses him down a staircase, and is hunted by Van Helsing and Harker. Dracula is forced to sleep in his coffin, as sunrise has come, and is trapped. Van Helsing prepares a wooden stake while Harker searches for Mina. Dracula moans in pain when Van Helsing impales him, and Mina returns to normal.

In 1958 from Hammer Horror films comes Horror Of Dracula (name changed from just Dracula to avoid confusion with the 1931 movie) –  the story of Dracula is changed from the original play by Stoker. Johnathon Harker comes to Castle Dracula to meet the Count (played by Christopher Lee) posing as a librarian. However his intention is to kill the vampire. He meets the count and settled down but is startled by a female vampire who asks for his help. She tries to attack him but is yanked away by Dracula. Later Harker finds the two in their coffins and kills the woman but Dracula awakens and feeds on Harker and escapes. Harker’s friend Van Helsing (Peter Cushing) arrives at the castle and is horrified to see his friend  lying in a coffin as a vampire. He stakes him and then goes back to share the news with  Arthur Holmwood and his wife Mina, brother and sister-in-law of Harker’s fiancée Lucy. Unknown to them Lucy has already fallen prey to Dracula, who had seen her photo in Harker’s belongings.

After Mina dies, Van Helsing leads the doubting to find that Lucy has risen and they stop her from harming a small child. Van Helsing stakes her in her coffin. While they try and track Dracula, Mina is lured to the count by a fake message from her husband and he preys on her. Later when Arthur gives her a cross to wear, it burns her. Despite their best efforts to guard her Dracula escapes into the night with Mina. Arthur & Van Helsing chase them back to the castle where Dracula attempts to bury Mina alive outside the crypts but is caught by Van Helsing and Arthur. Inside the castle, Van Helsing and Dracula struggle. Van Helsing tears open the curtain to let in the sunlight and, forming a cross of candlesticks, he forces Dracula into it. Dracula crumbles into dust as Van Helsing looks on. Mina recovers, the cross-shaped scar fading from her hand as Dracula’s ashes blow away, leaving only a ring behind.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula, released in 1992 directed by Francis Ford Coppola, sees Gary Oldman play the Count as a more sympathetic & romantic figure and the origins are closer to the inspiration for Stoker’s character – Prince Vlad the impaler. Newly-qualified solicitor Jonathan Harker (Keeanu Reeves) travels to Transylvania to meet the Count to finalize the deal of Carfax Abbey. Seeing a picture of Harker’s finance Mina reminds Dracula of his long dead wife Elizzabeta and he decides that he must have her. Dracula leaves Jonathan to be seduced by his brides and sails to England with boxes of his native soil, taking up residence at Carfax Abbey. In the form of a wolf like creature, Dracula seduces and rapes Lucy and her changing behaviour lead Dr. Seward to call Van Helsing in for a consultation. A youngish looking Dracula, in daylight, meets and charms Mina. However when Mina receives word from Jonathan, who has escaped the castle and recovered at a convent, she travels to Romania to marry him. In his fury, Dracula transforms Lucy into a vampire. Van Helsing, Holmwood, Seward and Morris kill Lucy.

Later when he meets Mina again, Dracula begins transforming her into a vampire. With Van Helsing, Mina travels to the castle while the rest chase the count’s coffin being transported by Gypsies. The Brides try to get Mina to seduce Van Helsing but he refutes her and later kills the 3 brides in the castle. The gypsies are killed by the hunters and Harker slits Dracula’s throat. As Dracula staggers, Mina rushes to his defense. Holmwood tries to attack but Van Helsing and Harker allow her to retreat with the Count.  Dracula lies dying in an ancient demonic form. He asks Mina to give him peace. They share a kiss as the candles adorning the chapel light up, and Mina shoves the knife through Dracula’s heart. The mark on her forehead disappears as Dracula’s curse is lifted.

So there you have it, 3 films made in 1931, 1958 & 1992 and with different stories based on the book. While Dracula is mostly portrayed as evil in the first two, the1958 Dracula is more like a man who just happens to have a blood thirst, ofcourse but is also susceptible to the cross and sunlight. Gary Oldman’s Dracula is the ultimate tragic lover and more fleshed out character than the other two and hence has more depth and is sympathetic.

A Profession In Cuddling

From Yahoo! Lifestyle:

Jackie Samuel can make 260 dollars a day and cuddles with up to 30 men a week – including pensioners and war veterans. However, her business ‘The Snuggery’ has not gone unnoticed and her college has threatened to expel her while others have called her a prostitute. “I think I was born knowing how to snuggle. Snuggling is healthy, spiritual and fun,” the Daily mail quoted her as saying.

“I think clients come to me for all different kinds of reasons. Some of my older clients, their wives have passed away, and they just need someone to be with, like someone to experience touch with. “Some of the younger clients are between relationships, some are in problematic relationships, and some people are just really curious and they come to just find out what it’s going to be like,” she said. The 29-year-old advertises her services online and charges 60 dollars an hour. The cuddling can take place anywhere around her cottage in Rochester, New York, but most clients opt to use her large double bed.

The clients are banned from touching parts of her body covered by underwear, which she wears under pyjamas. The business has done so well she has even hired another snuggling professional, Colleen. Her apprentice has yet to take on a client by herself but has joined Jackie on two occasions in what they have termed a “double cuddle”. Despite her strict rules on sexual activity, Jackie has received a barrage of emails and phone calls slamming her as a prostitute. “Some have said I am worse than a prostitute because they think snuggling is more intimate than sex. I’ve been told I’m monetizing love,” she added.

Internet Down

No internet at home tonight on my computer. Not sure where exactly the problem is but the DSL link light on my modem is showing as down and since nothing seems damaged or broken inside the apartment it could be that there is a cable fault outside. I tried everything I could think of over here including unplugging everything and plugging them back in but there’s no hope for me.

I called up the customer care of my ISP and gave a complaint but since it was 6:45pm I can only expect it to be fixed by noon tomorrow. I will fill my time in watching a movie or two and also am watching a bit of the old cartoon Kimba The White Lion to pass the time. So goodnight early folks.

Battlestar : Blood & Chrome To See Light Of Day

From Blastr.com

It’s been in the works for a while, and now we finally know when and how we’ll get to see the eagerly-anticipated Battlestar Galactica prequel Blood and Chrome. So what’s up?

The series will first roll out as a 10-episode web series on Machinima, broken up into 7-12 minute installments. If Machinima sound familiar, it should, as it was also home to the epic Mortal Kombat web series Legacy. The first episode goes live late this week on Friday, Nov. 9, with the rest breaking out over the next four weeks. But that’s not all. A two-hour movie version of Blood and Chrome will also air on Syfy in early 2013, followed by an unrated DVD release that will hit shelves soon after that.

Story-wise, the webisodes will follow young William Adama (Luke Pasqualino) during the first Cylon war. Young Adama will serve on the top-of-the-line (at the time) Battlestar Galactica, where he butts head with his co-pilot officer Coker (Ben Cotton). Syfy programming president Mark Stern touted the multi-platform concept as a great way to grow the fan-favorite franchise:

“With its top-notch storytelling, pulse-pounding action, and cutting-edge visual effects, Blood & Chrome is the perfect extension of the Battlestar Galactica universe. We are thrilled to see this hotly-anticipated event premiere on Machinima, an online network that is unparalleled in its delivery of high-class digital content to millions of viewers.”

Oh yeah, and an action-packed new trailer for the web series has also been released. Check it out below:

Musing On November

The month of November always reminds me of rains. For obviously two reasons. Here in Kerala we have a semi-monsoon month. The rains has a respite towards the end of September and then picks up in November. There is usually a lot less lightning & thunder compared to the actual monsoon and hence can be quite pleasant for those of us who like the rains minus the hue & cry of thunder & lightning. Aka me! Because anyone who knows me should know that I love the rains, especially during the hot afternoons and even the nights. Just as long as there is no power outages or lightning.

The other reason is ofcourse the very famous hit rock ballad November Rain from Guns n’Roses which is off their 1991 double album Use Your Illusion I & II. I played that song so many times on my stereo and on my video player after recording the video off an MTV chart show (you know, back when they actually played music videos) and got sick and tired of it by the time 200 rolled over. Although I listen to the song so few times now (unlike some of their other hits) November always makes me wanna sing that song. And I especially love to walk in the rain in November and hum the song to myself and if no is watching, I’ll play air guitar too!

Fire – Destroyer or Cleanser

Fire – the destroyer or a cleanser? Everyone knows about the awesome destructive powers of fire. A small fire can burn & completely vanquish a vast, mighty forest as it’s flames grows in size and envelops everything that stands in it’s path. In a couple of days, it can burn up things that may have taken years to build. It is is unrelenting and unfeeling. It shows no remorse or guilt or compassion. It can be the ultimate destroyer without soul.

Or you can look upon it as cleansing, giving a fresh start to the person who uses the fire to be in that way. By burning things that reminded you of the bad times and things that stood in the way of achieving something good, it can free you. Which is why in myth & stories & movies, you always see fire as the weapon that finally defeats evil – a monster or a house or a building or an alien! Fire is that which we chose it to be.

Two more days before my folks and I vacated our house in Thrikkakara and moved to the apartment in the city, which was over 6 years ago, we were busy packing up stuff to be moved to the new place. What we couldn’t squeeze into the apartment (hey, we have been piling up junk from the early 1980’s; stuff which fits in a big house but will not fit into a 3 bedroom flat), we temporarily stored in an uncle’s house or in my maternal grandma’s place. A whole bunch of newspapers, papers, magazine stuff, cards, letters & wrappers were found and dumped in the backyard to burn. I saw the burning going on and soon added a whole pile of my shit into the fire and further fanned the flames. I saw some old cards & books from lost loves, even some porno and other sort of stuff that I dumped into the fire pit.

I remember feeling like my old life was being closed right before my eyes; chapters of my life being destroyed as the flames turned it into ashes. It felt like the end of an era & the beginning of a new. The old one had a lot of fun and a lot of tears & heartaches behind it. I remember hoping that the new era would be somewhat fun at all times. And as the fire died down, only black grey ashes remained. Is that symbolic? Is life as I knew it been changed to this….ashes? Or is it signaling the end of the problems and the beginning of new hope and a new purpose in a new life? Well, only time will tell.

A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010)

Although I am aware of the movie franchise, from back when I was 13-14, I had only watched the original A Nightmare On Elm Street and the crossover with the Friday The 13th franchise, Freddy vs Jason. I hadn’t seen any of the sequels as of yet and although I like Robert Englund a lot (been a fan of his since his appearance as “Willy” in the scifi tv series V from 1983-84) it wasn’t something high up on my list to watch. However this afternoon I sat down to watch the reboot or remake from 2010 A Nightmare On Elm Street directed by Samuel Bayer, and written by Wesley Strick and Eric Heisserer. And yeah – produced by Michael Bay!!! Sheesh, anyway let’s take a look at the movie and what I thought of it.

The movie is ofcourse a combination of slasher with supernatural elements. The film stars Jackie Earle Haley (as Freddie), Kyle Gallner, Rooney Mara, Katie Cassidy, Thomas Dekker and Kellan Lutz. The movie starts off with Dean, a high school student, falling asleep and in his dreams he is attacked by Freddie Kruger. In front of his girlfriend Kris & also watched by fellow student Nancy, he falls asleep and cuts his own throat with a knife, although in his dream his throat is cut by Freddie. Freddie is depicted as a burned & disfigured man in a fedora and a metal clawed right hand. After the funeral Kris begins to have dreams of the same man and can’t go back to sleep. She falls asleep in class and he torments her, making her scream. That night her ex-boyfriend Jesse comes to keep her company as she is alone but Kris is murdered in her sleep, being dragged to the ceiling in reality and slashed by an unseen force.

Jesse is confronted by the cops and arrested for her murder as he runs away from the scene and is killed by Krueger when he falls asleep in his jail cell. Nancy begins to suspect a connection as her friends keep getting murdered one by one. She & her friend Quentin dig into records and discover that all her friends and her had attended the same preschool as kids, although none of them can remember meeting each other before teenagehood. Nancy’s mother, Gwen (Connie Britton), reluctantly tells Nancy and Quentin that there was a gardener at the preschool, Fred Krueger, who abused Nancy and the rest of the kids. Gwen explains that Nancy was his favorite, and that she came home one day telling her mother about a hidden space in Krueger’s room and the things he did to her there. Gwen claims Krueger skipped town before he was arrested. Nancy & Quentin do not believe that he escaped and begins to track down the rest of the kids in the preschool only to find out that all of them are dead, and most died in their sleep.

Meanwhile, Quentin tries to accept that his nightmares are nothing more than repressed memories, but he falls asleep during swim practice and witnesses what really happened to Krueger. In his dream he sees Freddie running away, being chased by the parents of all the kids and then burned in a building he tried to hide away in. Nancy & Quentin confront the latter’s father Alan about killing Freddie without real evidence that he has molested the kids and that Freddie is killing the kids now as revenge. Nancy and Quentin eventually make it to the preschool uncovers Krueger’s hidden room and the evidence that proves Krueger was in fact abusing all of the children; they realize that Krueger actually wants revenge on them for telling the truth. Nancy falls asleep and is attacked by Freddie and Quentin uses adrenaline to wake Nancy up and pull Freddie into reality with her. With Krueger distracted by Quentin, Nancy uses a broken paper cutter blade to cut Krueger’s gloved hand off, and then slice his throat. Afterward, Nancy torches the secret room, with Krueger’s body left inside, while she and Quentin leave. Nancy and her mother return home from the hospital; Krueger suddenly appears in a mirror’s reflection and kills Nancy’s mother before pulling her body through the mirror while Nancy screams.

I’m not really sure why we needed the reboot when all fans love the original so much. I thought it was just Bay being Bay and creating a movie with several ideas from each of the original and it’s sequels. 7 out of 10!

End-of-Year Goal

I achieved a major achievement, of finding new employment with a decent pay package, a financially secure process and a decent/helpful atmosphere. That was the main and I would say the only real goal I wanted to achieve when January 1st, 2012 rolled by. Unless ofcourse I got a whole lotta money (which I also got by doing some freelance work) and therefore lessened the burden on me. So since that was done by the middle of the year (I have completed 4 months of employment at my current office) I am ok with the last two months of the year in general and would want to focus on things that I want to achieve for 2013.

For the rest of the year – which is now less than 2 whole months but since it is still just the 4th of November and I still have 57 more days left I’m gonna count it as 2 months – I’m just gonna concentrate on what I currently have and improving my contribution to my current job and try and do better. I want to save some cash and have a quite, safe and enjoyable new year’s eve celebration – just like the last few years – with either friends or family and sit on the 1st of January to set some doable goals for 2013. I’m not gonna discuss them here ofcourse but I already have 3 to 4 set up. I want a quite, uneventful remaining 2 months (other than hoping that a big money making project, which has been in the pipeline, finally comes to fruition for the office) but other than that I just want more of the same or with some improvements.

So can I say that unless the end of the world event as predicted by Mayan conspiracy theorists actually come true and in 47 days the world as we know it comes to an end (what does that actually mean? The earth will be destroyed or the universe as well) then goals will be set post midnight January 1st, 2013.
