Ballerina Fireman Astronaut Movie Star

Ballerina Fireman Astronaut Movie Star

I wanted to a mix of Knight Rider with Captain Kirk (or any starfleet captain) and be a member of the A-Team while still having a winning WWE (then WWF) championship career and ride on the flying bikes from Galactica 1980! Now that sounds like an awesome way to live, don’t you think?

And yeah for a long time I wanted to be a movie star or tv star. And then a rock star! A real rock star like in a rock band! Not the crappy stuff that pop music claims to be. Real soaring vocals, loud guitars, pounding drums & thumping bass! The real McCoy!

At times I’ve though would’t it be great to be a world famous entertainer like a magician or a stand up comic. I love watching them on stage and on videos and think it’s a great way to make people happy. It would be a blast to do so. So yeah – and I am none of the above.

Well, in my dreams every night I do captain an awesome spaceship!

Norwich City 1 Arsenal 1

Arsenal missed the chance to draw level on points with Manchester City at the top of the table after Lewis Grabban’s equaliser earned a point for Norwich. The Gunners were gifted the lead when John Ruddy’s poor clearance allowed Alexis Sanchez to set up Mesut Ozil. But the visitors were pegged back by Grabban, who received Robbie Brady’s defence-splitting pass and held off the challenge of Gabriel to fire in. Injuries to Laurent Koscielny and Alexis Sanchez deepened Arsenal’s woes.

Centre-back Koscielny was forced off in the first half with a hip injury, while forward Sanchez hobbled off after the interval with an apparent hamstring problem. The Gunners are now two points off the lead in fourth and manager Arsene Wenger may come under renewed pressure to bolster his squad in January to sustain their title challenge. Norwich, meanwhile, remain 16th but will be buoyed by a display full of heart and determination. An evening that could ultimately prove damaging to their title aspirations started well for Arsenal as Ruddy’s error gave them a deserved lead. Before the match, the England goalkeeper had addressed criticism of some recent indifferent performances, saying: “I don’t think I have been as good [this season] as I have been previously, but form is temporary.” But his hopes of earning Norwich just a second clean sheet in 14 matches were dashed as he scuffed a clearance to Gary O’Neil.

Sanchez nipped in to dispossess the Norwich captain and threaded a through-ball to Ozil, who clipped a deft first-time finish over the goalkeeper. The Germany midfielder has now had a hand in 13 goals in his last 12 league games, with 11 assists and two efforts of his own. But his well-taken goal was just one facet of a hugely impressive performance, in which he misplaced only one of his 68 passes despite making 57 of them in the Norwich half. And the 27-year-old could be an increasingly important figure in the coming weeks following the injuries to Koscielny and Sanchez. Arsenal face a must-win Champions League encounter against Olympiakos on 9 December and Wenger will be counting on Ozil to shoulder extra responsibility in midfield if Sanchez is ruled out. Defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin is expected to be out for three months after suffering ligament damage, while Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck are also sidelined.

So Alexis, Kos and Coq out injured! In any decently run club there would an investigation to the injury crisis. But the board at Arsenal do not give a fuck. They don’t want to challenge for the league. Fuck them and fuck Wenger. If we don’t buy in January kiss goodbye to the challenge of a league title.

A Closer Look At the Jem Ha’dar Fighter

Here is another ship from the Eaglemoss Collection. Another ship that was introduced during the 7 season run of Star Trek : Deep Space Nine is the Jem Ha’dar Fighter. A Jem’Hadar fighter (also referred to as an attack ship or patrol ship) was a small type of warship that formed the bulk of the Dominion fleet. These versatile starships were also known to perform the roles of patrol ships and scouts.

IMG_20150911_131641

Jem’Hadar attack ships were vaguely insectoid, looking much like a Terran scarab in design. Extremely sturdy, these warships were capable of surviving the impact onto a planet’s surface. As well, Jem’Hadar attack ships were able to land intact on a planet and take off again. Once landed, the Jem’Hadar could land troops from the warship from a large access hatch on the belly of the ship. Although highly maneuverable, they lacked the edge in maneuverability that Starfleet’s Danube-class runabouts possessed. Despite this, they still heavily outgunned the smaller Federation vessels.

IMG_20150911_131204

Jem’Hadar fighters generated a 39 cochrane warp field and were capable of achieving the speed of warp 7. When this tactic was used against the USS Odyssey in 2370, Commander Benjamin Sisko explained that it was the Jem’Hadar’s way of “showing us how far they’re willing to go”, in response to the shocked Miles O’Brien comment regarding the Federation’s retreat from the battle.Outside of conventional weapon use, these ships were also used in performing kamikaze attacks on enemy vessels, which allowed them to inflict more damage than their weapons alone could perform.

IMG_20150911_131651

This class of vessel possessed transporter technology that was capable of transporting through Federation shields. The deflector technology that was employed by the attack ships was impervious to tractor beam locks. This form of deflector technology was unknown to Federation science as of late 2370. The shields of a Jem’Hadar attack ship were weakest at the ships’ dorsal field junction. In addition, cloaking technology would not reliably hide a vessel from a Jem’Hadar fighter’s sensors because they used a form of antiproton beam.

IMG_20150911_131302

The fighters were typically commanded by a Vorta and a Jem’Hadar First. The bridge had no chairs, and only two head-mounted virtual display devices instead of a viewscreen. The bridge was designed to contain three side doors and two floor hatches leading to other parts of the ship. Jem’Hadar attack ships lacked numerous amenities that were otherwise taken for granted on Federation starships, including an infirmary and food replicators.

And awesome ship that looks great in my collection. Here is the video.

Humble Pie

Tell us about a time you found out after the fact that you’d been mistaken and you had to eat a serving of humble pie.

I don’t remember a particular situation at the moment but I am sure that I have had to eat my share of humble pie from time to time. As have most of you. The ones that say that they haven’t are big time liars. Everyone eats some humble at one time or the other and I see your dirty plates and spoons so stop lying.

It is always a good idea to never be too close-minded or arrogant or set in your ways that you refuse to see another point of view. At the same time don’t be so open minded and ever changing your ways and ideas and views because then it will seem like you have no convictions and are easily swayed. No one will take you seriously if you are so open minded that your brain seems to fall out ever so often.

So check all the facts, see the other point of view, weigh it against the details and then call bullshit if it so or accept that there is something to it. It might make things more amicable and even fun and interesting.

Nagging And Depression

It’s common for a lot of folks that their parents really are the ones that piss them off the most. My mother is the one person who never seems to amaze me – in the fact that she seems to go out of her way to find new ways of annoying me. Anytime she has a chance, she will open her mouth knowing that she is doing nothing but pissing me off. That is in an incredible dedication to her lifelong ambition – to drive me nuts!

I am usually caught off guard because the casualest of conversations can suddenly change to her repeating her nagging. My sister seems to take it more in her stride and even gives back a ton more. She doesn’t take too much BS from my mom. But I live with her! My dad, my mom and I share a small apartment. When either parent passes away I will continue to stay and live with the other. So when my dad who is 76 passes away eventually, it will be just me and mom. And that is a depressing thought.

All her constant complaining, negativity, nagging – fucking hell just shut up for sometime. Let go and live your life for once. And stop annoying me.

Forgive And Forget

Do you hold grudges or do you believe in forgive and forget?

I think it depends on the situation. If it is something minor I think for me forgiving is easier and perhaps in a little while forgetting as well. Sometimes silly little fights are not really worth it and life is too short to stay that mad for so long. However it depends on what was done. Betraying and insulting and abusing and going behind your back is something I do not take lightly.

I have yet to forget about certain things that relatives have done. In one case, the person is dead, has been dead for over 10 years but he was a real asshole. Others are still alive and in one I have forgiven but not forgotten and the other – NEVER! Similarly people once friends and who have betrayed you are harder to forgive.

I know it’s not easy to carry on with a grudge but in some cases it is warranted. Like a former friend and colleague, who for a short time was really nice to me but who turned out to be a real bitch! Fuck you, I don’t need your BS in my life. I won’t forgive or forget the crap this person pulled. So screw her. Similarly a few others too.

Dinner Party For 8

You get to plan a dinner party for 4-8 of your favorite writers/artists/musicians/other notable figures, whether dead or alive. Who do you seat next to whom in order to inspire the most fun evening?

8 from Boko Haram or ISIS or Al-Queda or Hamas or any one of those terrorist organizations. Serve them their favourite food……laced with poison!

No, just kidding. Hmm I would like perhaps several of my favourite musicians or singers to sit around for dinner or my 8 fav novelists. Or can we get 8 supermodels? No wait, they r usually rather thin and frail these days, so probably might only eat the apetizers. Or perhaps a single grape! And then complain about being full.

Hoe about some playboy playmates? Some PB bunnies? Or swimsuit models. Damn I would love that. I will serve that dinner.

Arsenal 3 Dinamo Zagreb 0

Arsenal’s Champions League hopes are still alive after they eased to victory against Dinamo Zagreb at Emirates Stadium. The Gunners needed to win and hope that Bayern Munich beat Olympiakos to ensure that a victory by two goals – or by a margin of one if they score three goals – in Greece in their final group game would send them into the knockout phase. Bayern fulfilled their part of the bargain and Arsenal had no trouble with a Dinamo side who beat them in the earlier fixture in Croatia. Man of the match Mesut Ozil headed them in front after 29 minutes and Alexis Sanchez added a second four minutes later before the Chile forward rounded off a fine second half move to give Arsenal the convincing win their superiority deserved.

Midfielder Ozil has had his critics since making the £42.4m move to Arsenal from Real Madrid in September 2013 – but he has arguably been the Gunners’ most influential player this season. The elegant Germany international has become the goal-maker supreme, setting a Premier League record with an assist in his seventh successive game when Olivier Giroud put Arsenal ahead at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. And he was pulling all the strings here as Arsenal kept their Champions League campaign on track, not only by displaying a wonderful range of perfectly-measured passing, but by breaking the deadlock and easing nerves inside the stadium with his diving header. Ozil’s languid style sees him painted as something of an enigma, but when he moves so silkily, dictating the tempo in this fashion, he looks a player of the highest quality.

Arsenal did not only get a world-class forward when they paid Barcelona £32m after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, they acquired a character who can set the tone for a performance with his work ethic and desire. He proved it here, not just with two goals but with his relentless determination to win the ball back when possession was lost, a prime example being in the first half when he chased back 40 yards down Arsenal’s left-flank to make three tackles before eventually securing the ball. Arsenal are more than capable of getting the victory they require against Olympiakos in Athens to go through to the knockout phase of the Champions League. They possess more quality than the Greek side – but can they deliver when it matters?

In the wake of the 3 month layoff due to injury for Francois Coquelin, Arsenal have dossiers of holding midfielders to consult if they look to sign a replacement for their injured pillar in midfielder in January, according to the Daily Mail. Arsene Wenger reportedly has a shortlist of six players including internationals Lars Bender, William Carvalho, Grzegorz Krychowiak and Lucas Biglia alongside French youngsters Vincent Koziello and Nampalys Mendy.

Dr. Roshlittle

Someone or something you can’t communicate with through writing (a baby, a pet, an object) can understand every single word you write today, for one day only. What do you tell them?

Animals ofcourse. Who doesn’t want to communicate with our friends in the animal and bird kingdom. I would like to talk to pets like cats and dogs and also the birds and other animals around us. And have them understand me and talk back to me. Like if they are thirsty or hungry or would like a rubbing of their bellies. Or are not feeling well and where exactly does it hurt.

Dear reader if you have a dog or a cat wouldn’t you want this ability? I would have loved to have it when I had my cats and dogs. Do not eat that. Do not play with that. Stay away from the dirt, I just bathed you! Eat this it’s good for you. You know, sounding like a parent! It’s dangerous do not run onto the road. Sit near me and i’ll scratch behind your ear. Atleast if they could do the basics that would be great. If they could understand me. They could just point to where it hurts.

So that’s what I want. I’m sure a lover of pets would want that too.

Ant-Man

Another from the now ever expanding Marvel cinematic & tv universe, Ant-Man is a 2015 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics characters of the same name: Scott Lang and Hank Pym. This film has more comedic elements that the others though. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the twelfth installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Peyton Reed, with a screenplay by Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish and Adam McKay & Paul Rudd, and stars Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Anthony Mackie, Wood Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, and Michael Douglas.

The movie starts with Hank Pym (the original Ant-Man) resigning from S.H.I.E.L.D. after discovering their attempt to replicate his Ant-Man shrinking technology. Believing the technology is dangerous, Pym vows to hide it as long as he lives. In present day he is retired from his own company, Pym Industries, having been voted by the board and his own estranged daughter Hope van Dyne, and former protégé, Darren Cross. Cross is close to perfecting a shrinking suit of his own, the Yellowjacket, which horrifies Pym. Pym chooses a well meaning thief named Scott Lang, who stole from his former corporate employers to give back to their customers, recently released from jail to be his successor as the Ant-Man. Struggling to make child support payments and keep a job (in Baskin n’Robbins) Lang is tricked by Pym to break into his house and steal y finds what he believes to be an old motorcycle suit, which he takes home. After trying the suit on, Lang accidentally shrinks himself to the size of an insect. Terrified by the experience, he returns the suit to the house, but is arrested on the way out. Pym, the homeowner, visits Lang in jail and smuggles the suit into his cell to help him break out.

Having been spying on Cross after discovering his intentions, van Dyne helps Pym train Lang to fight and to control ants. While van Dyne harbors resentment towards Pym about her mother Janet’s death, he reveals that Janet, known as the Wasp, disappeared into a subatomic quantum realm to disable a Soviet nuclear missile. Pym warns Lang that he could suffer a similar fate if he overrides his suit’s regulator. They send him to steal a device that will aid their heist from the Avengers’ headquarters, where he briefly fights Sam Wilson. Cross meanwhile has perfected his Yellowjacket device and hosts a party for the unveiling at Pym Technologies’ headquarters. Lang, along with his crew and a swarm of flying ants, infiltrates the building during the event, sabotages the company’s servers, and plants explosives. Lang, Pym & Hope are captured by Cross who intends to sell both the Yellowjacket and Ant-Man suits to Hydra, led by former S.H.I.E.L.D officer Mitchell Carson. Lang breaks free and he and Hope dispatch most of the Hydra agents, though Carson is able to flee with a vial of Cross’ particles. Lang pursues Cross as he escapes, while the explosives detonate, imploding the building.

Cross dons the Yellowjacket and fights Lang, who is arrested by the cops (including his ex-wife’s now husband Paxton) and Cross goes to capture Lang’s daughter Cassie. Lang overrides the regulator and shrinks to subatomic size to penetrate Cross’ suit and sabotage it to shrink uncontrollably, killing Cross. Lang disappears into the quantum realm but manages to reverse the effects and returns to the macroscopic world. In gratitude for Lang’s heroism, Paxton covers for Lang to keep him out of prison. Seeing that Lang survived and returned from the quantum realm, Pym wonders if his wife is alive as well. Later, Lang meets up with Luis, who tells him that Wilson is looking for him. In a mid-credits scene, Pym shows van Dyne a new Wasp prototype suit and offers it to her. In a post-credits scene, Wilson and Steve Rogers have Bucky Barnes in their custody. Unable to contact Tony Stark because of “the accords”, Wilson mentions that he knows someone who could help.

Funnier than the other Marvel superhero movies (ofcourse, it’s Paul Rudd afterall) this film is more light but shows some awesome CGI effects and fight scenes. Micheal Pena is great as a comedic relief and I have no complaints about the film. 8.5 outta 10!

West Brom 2 Arsenal 1

Arsenal wasted the chance to go top of the Premier League as West Brom fought back from a goal down to beat them at The Hawthorns. The visitors took the lead through Olivier Giroud, who headed in Mesut Ozil’s free-kick from the right. James Morrison volleyed past Petr Cech to level before Mikel Arteta diverted James McClean’s cross into his own net. Santi Cazorla could have secured a point from the penalty spot, but he slipped at the crucial moment. Victory moves Tony Pulis’ side up to 12th, while Arsenal’s first league defeat since 19 September sees them slip to fourth.

The match at The Hawthorns was supposed to be the start of a winning run that would see them go on beat Norwich, Sunderland and Aston Villa. But, alas, they have stumbled once again. The Gunners had 73% possession and 11 efforts on goal. Two of those should have been converted, with substitute Joel Campbell missing from four yards and Cazorla slipping as he went to take a spot-kick. Injuries have cost Arsenal time and time again in recent years. Indeed, when Aaron Ramsey was sidelined in December 2013, the Gunners’ title hopes were damaged. They have a stronger squad now, but any team missing players of the calibre of Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere would find it hard to sustain a title challenge. Here, midfielders Mikel Arteta and Francis Coquelin came off with injuries. Arteta had replaced Coquelin in the 14th minute. Arsene Wenger’s squad is not yet threadbare, but he cannot afford any more injuries over the next five weeks.

Ozil has provided an assist in seven consecutive Premier League appearances, the most in the division’s history but that did little to uplift the visiting fans. Arsenal face Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League this week before are away to Norwich on Sunday. The loss means Arsenal slip to 4th in the ranking with 26 points after 13 games. January cannot come sooner for the Arsenal faithful and hopefully there will be proper reinforcements.

A Tale Of Two Cities

If you could split your time evenly between two places, and two places only, which would these be?

Any two cities? Well well well. If one doesn’t have to be my hometown then I will pick two Canadian cities because I love Canada and would love to live there. So I shall pick…..drum roll please…..Montreal and Vancouver. No surprises there I hope, these are amongst two of the most beautiful cities in the world and not just in Canada. I would kill to be able to live in these two cities so those are the two that I would choose.

Beautiful French architecture, wonderful shopping, a lot to see, gorgeous nature nearby – that’s Montreal. It’s a mix of European flair with North American style, an amazing city to visit and live in. Vancouver has gorgeous, natural beauty, oceans, mountains and beautiful streets with lovely homes in several areas. A great city to live in. Which is better – Vancouver or Montreal? I can’t decide. Both cities have great things and places I want to see and explore and make them my home. I wanna walk the parks, visit the stores, eat and drink in their cafes, bars and restaurants and go on the waters, take in the scenes and enjoy life.

That’s my two cities.

The Power Of Touch

Textures are everywhere: The rough edges of a stone wall. The smooth innocence of a baby’s cheek. The sense of touch brings back memories for us. What texture is particularly evocative to you?

I dunno, it depends on the situation. Sometimes the feel of a soft pillow can bring back memories of being in a nice cool bed as a kid, hot day but cool inside with the air conditioner on and you are safe and cool as a cucumber and about to fall asleep. Not a care in the world and just being a kid.

The touch of a baby’s cheek or the smooth baby’s bottom? I haven’t had kids yet but I do remember my nephews and niece when they were babies and ofcourse my baby cousin who was the cutest baby ever (and the most talkative) and that would be what touch a baby’s cheek would remind me. The cuteness and the innocence of the little creature next to you. That is a good feeling.
