American Crime Story : The People vs O.J. Simpson

American Crime Story is an American true crime anthology television series developed by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, who are executive producers with Brad Falchuk, Nina Jacobson, Ryan Murphy, and Brad Simpson. It premiered on the cable network FX in the United States on February 2, 2016. The first season, subtitled The People v. O. J. Simpson, presents the murder trial of O. J. Simpson, based on Jeffrey Toobin’s book The Run of His Life: The People v. O. J. Simpson.

The series stars Sterling K. Brown, Kenneth Choi, Christian Clemenson, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Bruce Greenwood, Nathan Lane, Sarah Paulson, David Schwimmer, John Travolta, Courtney B. Vance and has guest roles by Selma Blair, Connie Britton, Rob Morrow & Steven Pasquale. The 10 episode series is an amazing and revetting storytelling of the events during the “trial of the century” starting from the finding of the dead bodies of OJ’s ex-wife Nicole Brown and her boyfriend Ron Goldman to the end of the trial at which the jury finds the former football star and actor not guilty. The series has many comedic bits interspersed between some awesome casting, some wonderful acting and production to make it look like we are looking at events shot 20 years ago.

Racism, bias, corruption, friendship and loyal on display along with the defense that money can buy, pot shots by both sides, the lengths to what people will do to bring down an opponent, the obsession with what a woman in a male dominated industry is wearing or looks like and how much insensitivity is doled out on a person in the public’s eye is amazing to see in just 1 single season of hour long. And the performances is top notch; everyone was great but I must single out Sarah Paulson, Sterling Brown, David Schwimmer and Courtney B Vance (as much as I dislike the character he played) who were just awesome. Cuba, Travolta and others were really good too. I love the story and the show and it’s a huge recommend to anyone who likes good tv shows. I would rate this season as a 9 outta 10!
