Arsenal 0 Tottenham Hotspurs 2

Goals from Son Heung-min and Dele Alli gave Tottenham victory over bitter rivals Arsenal and secured a two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea. Son pounced on Alli’s smart ball over the top to put Spurs in front after just 20 minutes at the Emirates. Alli then coolly chipped it over keeper Petr Cech with the outside of his boot in the second half to make it 2-0. The England midfielder was then hit on the head by a plastic bottle thrown from the crowd shortly after that goal.

It was a heated atmosphere at what was the second north London derby in 18 days; victory ensured Spurs made the last four for the first time since 2014-15. Back then, they went on to the final and were beaten by Chelsea – their semi-final opponents this time around. Tottenham keeper Paulo Gazzaniga made two good saves in the first half of Wednesday’s quarter-final – denying Henrikh Mkhitaryan from close range and later tipping Aaron Ramsey’s volley on to the post.

In the second half, Alexandre Lacazette hit the post and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s cross curled onto the top of the crossbar before Christian Eriksen’s fizzing shot was saved by Cech. Arsenal had not lost back-to-back matches prior to this defeat since they were beaten by Manchester City and Chelsea in the Premier League back in August.

5 Things I Know For Sure But Can’t Prove

  1. A good portion of written history is falsified or exaggerated. History is written by the survivours, victors of war and by the ruling class in several eras of humankind. Some of them must be bogus.
  2. I don’t believe a god or gods exist. I am an atheist so I will say that I don’t believe in any god. Not one. But if you ask me to prove that none exists, I can’t say that for sure. But while I am unconvinced of what religious people tell me, can there be such beings (not exactly what current religions claim but different) around? Nope. I am pretty sure that none exist.
  3. Politicians and religious institutions are in bed and they are fucking the rest of us dry. They are in cahoots and they know their claims are false but they want power and they don’t mind stomping on you to get it.
  4. Good music, created by creative minds, composed by artists who have mastered their instruments is dying. In a couple of decades we won’t have new good music at all, just the synthezied, rap, hip-hop and pop drivel. And finally modern music will die off. Which is why in a lot of scifi shows & movies classical music is all that they play. It’s all that is left.
  5. There is intelligent life out there on other worlds, other planets, moons and galaxies. Way too many planets and galaxies out there for it not to be so. Someday we will make first contact. There has to be aliens other there. C’mon we aren’t that special!

The Risks Of Blogging (And How To Avoid Them)

No matter what you use your blog for, be it for personal or business use, there are risks involved. As a blogger then, you need to take steps to avoid these risks by taking some precautionary steps to avoid them.

Here are two of the more common risks involved with blogging, with some handy tips to help you reduce them.

Risk #1: Your blog content

Be careful what you say online. Sure, your blog is a useful place to share your opinions, but remember that it’s online for all to see. If you say anything that is scandalous, controversial, and perhaps even slanderous, you may be targeted by people who don’t like what you have to say. And if what you say is particularly harmful, you might also suffer at the hands of a hacker, receive negative media attention, and find yourself blocked from continuing by your blog provider. Your personal safety might also be at risk, especially if you can be easily identified.

Tip: Think before you write something down. While you want to be honest and true, you don’t want to attract a lot of negative attention. Verify any facts before compiling blog posts, and if you suspect what you are trying to say is harmful to others, consider the consequences before any posts go live. You might ask a trusted friend or family member to have a read through your post too, as that second opinion might just save your bacon!

Risk #2: Your finances

This works two-fold. For starters, if your blog contains a lot of personal information, such as anything related to your personal identity, then some nefarious person may have just what they need to open up credit using your name. And if you use your blog for business purposes, perhaps within the realms of ecommerce, you might also be hit by hackers able to steal both your financial information and that of your customers.

Tip 1: For starters, don’t post your personal information online. While you might use your name, you might still want to avoid using your postal address, and any other identifying features, such as clues located within photographs. Know too that If you have registered your own domain name, your personal information may be accessed online through the WHOIS service, so opt for domain privacy when registering.

Tip 2: Ensure your website is secure using the steps listed here. This is the best way to defeat the hackers, as while you may not think you are a target, you may be if a) your blog content is controversial, and b) you are using your blog for business purposes.

Tip 3: If you are using your blog to sell anything online, then you need to remember KYC (Know Your Customer) compliances. This is the process of identifying who your potential customers are, as you don’t want to be the subject of online fraud. To protect yourself and any customers who may have had their information stolen by a nefarious miscreant, consider using Jumio. Jumio replaces slow KYC processes, using cutting-edge solutions to ensure you stay compliant when operating your business.

Finally

Blogging can be both fun and financially profitable to you, but the reverse is true if you don’t take care. Follow our tips, and you should have a safer experience when operating online. Are You Spending Too Much Money On Video Games?

Forget about how much time you’re spending on video games – many of us are also guilty of spending too much money on video games. As the price of games continues to increase and the amount of DLC increases, gaming is progressively becoming a more expensive hobby. However, there are ways to spend less on games. Here are just a few tips for lowering your gaming expenses.

Resist the urge to buy games as soon as they’re released

When it comes to new releases, many gamers want to be able to play the game the day it comes out so that they can be a part of the initial buzz. This often means pre-ordering the game and buying it at its most expensive. If you have the patience to wait out the hype, you could see the price drop and save money on these new releases. Besides, waiting it out can have its advantages – you’ll be able to read reviews and justify whether it’s really worth the money, plus initial bugs will have been ironed out.

Don’t buy brand new

Used games are always significantly cheaper than brand new ones. Whilst you can always head down to your local second-hand games store, you may be able to find cheaper rates online on sites like Glyde. Always make sure that you’re given information on the condition so that you know what you’re getting – games that are scratched or don’t contain the manual are likely to be cheapest.

Hit the sales

You could wait until a sale period to buy new games – Black Friday and the January Sales are popular times for slashing prices on games. There may also be bundles available during these sale periods that allow you to buy multiple games for a cheap price.

Be wary of DLC, in-game purchases and other extras

A lot of people end up frittering away their money on small extras. This is particularly the case with mobile games, many of which are free to download but contain lots of in-game extras to purchase. Try to resist constantly buying these extras and avoid purely aesthetic content such as character clothing (it may look cool, but it’s just digital clothing at the end of the day!). When it comes to PC-based MMORPGs you may be able to shop around for these purchases such as OSRS gold for Runescape. Always buy content from trusted sellers to avoid being ripped off.

Swap and share games with friends

You may not even have to buy games. Swapping and sharing games with friends is a great way to enjoy gaming on a budget. It’s also a great way to test out games and decide if you really want to own them yourself. How many of us have ever bought a game that we played for three weeks and never picked up again? Borrowing from friends can stop you from wasting your money on games that you don’t enjoy by giving you a free taster first.

Home Birth Or Hospital Birth: Which Is Right For You?

When it comes to making the decision of where to give birth, there are many more options available to women today, but there are certainly aspects of each option to be taken into consideration, and what works for one may not work for another since giving birth is a completely unique personal experience for each woman.

You may have looked at your options already and if you’re stuck when trying to decide if a home birth or hospital birth is right for you, then in this post, we’ve given some things to consider for each option so that you can have an easier time deciding which one is right for you.

Home Birth:

You’ll be in your own surroundings: One of the biggest reasons that many women choose to have a home birth is because they like the idea of giving birth in the comfort of their own home and surroundings. This is something you’re not going to get in a hospital, although you can certainly bring some things from home to make the experience more relaxing and like home, but nothing will compare to the comforts of your actual home.

You’ll be able to tailor your experience more: When giving birth at home, you have more freedom to tailor the experience to be just the way you want, and although there’s always going to be something that doesn’t go to plan, you can definitely create the atmosphere more to your liking than if you were in a hospital. This includes things like having a birthing pool or even having a doula to assist you with the birth.

You could be at risk if there’s an emergency: The downside of giving birth at home is that there’s always going to be a risk involved in giving birth and even in the most healthy and normal of pregnancies there can be things that go wrong or happen without warning that require medical attention, such as needing a C-Section. If this is the case, then time is always important, so you’ll need to be attended to quickly and if you live far away from a hospital or medical center, then this could put both you and your baby at risk. It could also cause problems if you were to try and claim on your insurance for a birth injury lawyer, since the advice would always be to give birth in a hospital.

Hospital Birth:

It perhaps won’t be as personal or relaxing: Hospitals aren’t exactly the most relaxing of places, and they’re not really supposed to be – they’re there for a reason and that’s to provide care in a safe and clean environment, so often the decor and lighting will reflect this. Many hospitals will allow you to bring thing like music and some comforts from home to help you relax, but it certainly won’t be the same as giving birth at home.

You’ll have emergency help on hand if needed: If anything were to go wrong, then you’d be fully cared for in a hospital and would receive urgent medical attention if needed, unlike if something were to happen at home and you needed to travel to a hospital.

The Spy Who Dumped Me

The Spy Who Dumped Me is a 2018 American action comedy film directed by Susanna Fogel and co-written by Fogel and David Iserson. The film stars Mila Kunis, Kate McKinnon, Justin Theroux, Sam Heughan, Hasan Minhaj and Gillian Anderson and follows two best friends who are chased through Europe by assassins after one of their ex-boyfriends turns out to be a CIA agent.

So that’s the whole premise – cashier Audrey Stockton has been dumped by her boyfriend Drew via text. It’s her birthday and her best friend and roommate, Morgan, tries to cheer her up. However it turns out that Drew is a spy and he calls her and tells her that he dumped her. He asks her not to burn his stuff. At her work, a man she flirted with, Sebastian, and a colleague force her into a van and he proceeds to tell her he is Sebastian Henshaw and that Drew works for the C.I.A. and has gone missing. A man Morgan  slept with turns out to be a rival spy and he and others are out to be after the secret usb drive Drew left hidden in a trophy. Drew turns up and is then murdered.

Audrey & Morgan then go on a manic travel adventure through Europe where they get shot at and have few people that they can trust. Everyone seems to be after the data in the drive, even an old friend of Morgan’s father is killed and a killer pretends to be the friend just to get the drive and including a fashion model/androgynous model cum gymnast. Sebastian happens to be the only one on the girls’s side and helps then at every turn, even going against orders. After they recover the data – which Audrey hid in her vagina ffs! – it turns out that the data is a lot of information which can be used for blackmail governments. Drew turns up alive and in a predictable twist is actually a bad guy and is finally bested by Audrey and Morgan. Sebastian & Audrey kiss and a year later Morgan & Audrey now work as spies and are on a case in Japan with Sebastian.

Predictable, corny, ridiculous, totally contrived story and plotlines. I could predict a lot of things from a mile away and it feels like the jokes are just crude and stupid for the most part. I wonder what the whole point was. 6 outta 10!

Effective Ways To Get Over Trauma

Unfortunately, trauma is an inevitability of the human condition. Even those of us who live charmed and privileged lives can still be affected by a wide range of traumas. A good job, a nice house and an enviable car cannot insulate us from the risk of personal loss, the end of a relationship or falling out with friends or relatives. Sometimes a physical trauma may also accompany an emotional trauma, such as getting into a physical altercation like a fight or a mugging. And even after the physical wounds have healed, the psychological scars remain.

Whatever the nature of your trauma, it’s up to you to try and put it in your rear-view mirror… but that’s far easier said than done. Everyone’s trauma is different and everyone deals with it in different ways, however, if you’re desperate to move on but just don’t know how to, here are some effective strategies to help you to get over your trauma and unshackle yourself from the detrimental effect it has on your daily life…

Seek a positive outcome

A negative can always be turned into something even remotely positive. The loss of a loved one from illness or disease can always be used to raise awareness and help those who are similarly afflicted. The end of a relationship can lead to another, healthier relationship in which you learn from the mistakes of the past. If you have lost a loved one as the result of someone else’s negligence, seek the services of an attorney like Robinette Law’s quality legal services to hold the guilty party to account. If you have been involved in a painful break-up, use this as an opportunity to enjoy being single and getting to know yourself a little better before you rush into something new. No matter how terrible your trauma may be, there’s usually a positive outcome to be found on the other side.

Channel it into something creative

Art can be an extremely therapeutic process. Channeling your anger, hurt, anxieties and frustrations into a creative endeavor can liberate you from your pain and turn something profoundly negative into something that you can feel pride and accomplishment in. Paint a picture, write a short story or channel it into some music. There are no right or wrong ways to do it but channeling your pain into something creative can make it far easier to get over and process.

Avoid the stop-gap solutions which will only make it worse

When we are afflicted by trauma, we can look for a reprieve from our pain in all the wrong places. We can try to find it at the bottom of a bottle of whiskey or in a tub of ice cream. We can try to escape into a party lifestyle or simply into the fictional worlds of movies and video games. While some stop-gap solutions are more harmful than others the best they can do is distract you from your trauma, and the longer you leave it unchecked, the more damage it can do.

Talk about it

Finally, the more you talk about your trauma, the better able you are to cope with it. It stops being a huge, unconquerable leviathan and becomes something more mundane and manageable. While a counsellor or therapist should be the person you talk to, even talking to friends and family about it can help you come to terms with it and eventually overcome it.

Southampton 3 Arsenal 2

The Saints ended Arsenal’s 22-match unbeaten run and won their first home league game since April thanks to Charlie Austin’s 85th-minute header with Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl running on to the pitch to celebrate with his players on the final whistle. In a see-sawing encounter, the hosts took the lead after 20 minutes as Danny Ings muscled home a header from Matt Targett’s cross. Henrikh Mkhitaryan nodded in shortly after for Arsenal, following good work by Alex Iwobi and Nacho Monreal – but Ings struck again just before the break.

Nathan Redmond’s floated cross was precise and Ings cushioned a looping effort into the far corner. Arsenal turned the screw in the second half and restored parity as Mkhitaryan’s shot deflected in off Jannik Vestergaard. The Gunners had their chances with Alex McCarthy impressing in the home goal, but Southampton were dangerous on the break and Shane Long had a goal rightly ruled offside before providing a teasing cross for Austin’s winner.

The victory takes Southampton out of the relegation zone and up to 17th. At the final whistle, Austrian Hasenhuttl – nicknamed the ‘Klopp of the Alps’ during his spell at previous club RB Leipzig – joined his players’ on-pitch huddle before whipping up more decibels from the home support. With rivals Chelsea winning away at Brighton, Arsenal are now three points adrift of the top four.

Promoting Yourself As A Musician

If you are a musician, there are a few things that you will need to be aware of if you are to make the most of it as a lifestyle. As long as you know how to do that, you should be able to make it worthwhile, and that could mean that you really improve your life in a number of distinct ways too. The truth is that it can be very hard to be a musician professionally and make it work, but with the right attitude and approach and a sprinkle of luck, you can find yourself making money and a career out of playing music. One of the major things that you will need to do is to make sure that you are promoting yourself as a musician – something a lot of people find hard to get right. In this article, however, we are going to take a look at this, so that you can hope to get your music career moving in the right direction, and at a speed that suits you.

Understand Your Genre

It is hugely important to make sure that you are aware of your genre and where you fit within it, as this affects the way in which you promote yourself quite a lot. You can think of your genre, in business terms at least, as a kind of branding, and once you understand that bending you can make sure that you are going to be promoting yourself in the right way. If you do not really grasp what genre you play or how it appears to others, you will find it considerably more difficult to really make inroads with your self-promotion, so it is important to make sure not to make that mistake. The more you know your genre, the easier you will find it to promote yourself, so start researching and understanding it from others’ perspectives soon, so you can do that as well as possible.

Make Use Of Free Publicity

If you look around, you can always find opportunities for free publicity, and you should be able to make use of these to enhance and further your attempts at promoting yourself as an artist. Of course, when you are just starting out you will probably find it a real challenge to come across these opportunities, but the more that you look, the more that you will find, and that is the important thing to bear in mind here. It might be that you have found a way to get free soundcloud plays on your account, and so draw attention to your music that way. Or maybe you are just making good use of networking and talking to people, and then people start offering you the chance to publicise your work. However you do it, you will find that such chances appear for you more and more often once you start to look. That will then mean you can expect your career to be much more successful and lucrative than you might have even thought possible.

Play!

One of the most important things you need to be doing is actually playing your music live. If you are not performing, you might still be able to garner some interest in your work, but you will probably find it much more difficult indeed to get the ball rolling swiftly. You need to make sure that you are playing your music on a regular basis – and if you are not, you will have to think about what you can do to make up for that. Performance is the best way to get known in your local area and beyond, and it’s enjoyable too. It also helps you to get more in touch with your own music, and that can mean that you start to feel yourself more, which leads generally to more of an ability to promote yourself successfully. The more you play, the more that people will hear you, which is after all exactly what you are looking for here.

Support Others

This kind of thing always works two ways. The more that you support other musicians, the more they are likely to support you in return, so it is actually in your interests to make sure that you are supporting the people out there as much as you can. Get involved in your local music community and support the work of other artists. You will find they reciprocate most of the time, and that is all you need. The other meaning of support here is, of course, to support them on stage, which is also a hugely effective means of promoting your music.

Fall Back in Love With Your Home by Making These Changes

Have you fallen out of love with your home? When your surroundings are tired, cluttered or past their best you’ll struggle to find joy in where you live. Home is the place we should feel at our happiest, and so if you dread returning home then something needs to be done. Here are a few changes you can make to start enjoying your property again.

Declutter

When you live in a place for a long time, clutter can accumulate. New things get bought to replace the old, and sometimes, instead of throwing them away or donating them, they get put into a drawer or cupboard. Before you know it, you can end up with a home that’s bursting at the seams. Not only can this bring down the look of a place, but it can leave you feeling stressed and disorganised. You go to grab an item you need and have to sift through years of unloved junk to find it. Do yourself a favour, declutter and be brutal about it. Unless something is useful, is an heirloom or holds significant sentimental value, don’t keep it. Get three big boxes and label them ‘charity shop’ ‘give to friends’ and ‘bin’. When you’re going through all of your items, this can make it easier to make decisions. Something might be perfectly useful and in good condition still, so too good for the bin, but if it’s not an item you use then find it a new home. A friend might want to take it off your hands, or a charity shop can sell it to raise money for a good cause. When you clear space in your home, you make room for the things that you do need and love. Stop waiting for items of clothing to come back into fashion, or keeping items ‘just in case.’ Save what you need and use and remove the rest from your life. You’ll feel so much better for it. On top of this, it will make your home much easier to keep clean. Psychology has shown that a tidy home really can lead to a tidy mind. You’ll sleep better, experience less stress and your house will be a more pleasant place to be all round,

Redecorate

One your home is decluttered, organised and clean, you might notice that some of the decor is in a bit of disrepair if it hasn’t been touched for a while. Redecorating doesn’t have to be as expensive as you think, and a simple coat of paint of the walls can completely transform how it looks. Remove fussy wallpaper, and use ready made filler to fill in holes and cracks (sanding it down when it’s done). Then use a light, neutral shade such as white, magnolia or very light grey and paint the walls. You’ll create a blank canvas that makes your home look bigger and brighter. Paint doors, skirting boards and other woodwork in a bright white gloss that will make everything look really clean and fresh. Just this step alone can make your property look completely different! Add colour and texture with cushions, plants, pictures and other accessories. Ikea, Dollar stores and other cheap and discount stores sell these really cheaply so you can make it look beautiful without breaking the budget.

Extend

If it’s a matter of space that’s the issue in your home, have you considered extending? A single or double story brick extension would give you extra space to extend existing rooms or add new ones. But if you don’t want the expense or time waiting on planning permission, there are other options. A conservatory could be used as an office, a dining room or as a way to extend your kitchen and don’t usually need planning permission. Another opton is a garden room, these are self contained structures and are fully insulated so act as a room and not just a summer house style building. You could use one as a guest bedroom, an office, a hobby room, teenage hangout- whatever you like! Again, you don’t usually need planning permission and they can be built quickly. You’d have an electrician come in and connect the electrics, and if you were including a toilet or bathroom in there, a plumber too.

Improve the garden

Making use of your garden can really add so much to your life. If you don’t use it at the moment as it’s scruffy or overgrown, make it your mission in spring to get it up to scratch. There’s nothing quite like entertaining friends when the weather is nice- afternoon tea, barbeques and garden picnics. You and your family can eat your evening meals outdoors while the sun is shining, or you can sit with your partner and enjoy a glass of wine or even just read a book in gorgeous surroundings. Get your lawn in order, sprinkling down grass seed and applying the right fertiliser will have it looking lush and green again once the cold winter weather has passed. Invest in some good garden furniture, picnic benches work well as you have tables and chairs in one and they’re nice and sturdy. Fill pots and borders with pretty flowers, if you buy bulbs and seeds you can save money by growing them from scratch.

Consider moving

In some cases, making the above changes can really make a huge difference, and allow you to fall back in love with your property. However, in other situations your best bet might be to search for something new. Maybe you’ve been feuding with your neighbours for years without any resolution, or perhaps the area has gone downhill and there’s more crime than there once was. The house might be harbouring bad memories which you’re not able to shift by making cosmetic changes. If this is the case, looking for a property and moving somewhere new can be a fresh start. You know what you didn’t like about the old place so you can make the best choices next time, and you can find a home that really fits your lifestyle. This is useful if you don’t want a huge project to work on, and spend time, effort and money transforming an existing house to suit you.

Too Cheesy?

It had been 3 weeks or so since I had gone out for anything other than work and I felt that I was due a day to go out for lunch and some shopping. Nothing too major, just lunch and buying groceries and supplies. I asked my cousin if he could join me and although yesterday he said that he was game, this morning he wasn’t feel too good.

So I was on my own and with no agenda than just a nice lunch and shopping at Big Bazaar, I left my apartment by 12:45 pm and took an Ola to The Burger Junction. I made the mistake of ordering the cheesy fries with minced beef and salsa along with my Dark Knight burger and shake. The fries were good and the mince beef was good but the cheesy sauce mixed with the salsa put me off and I couldn’t finish it.

IMG_20181216_140405

The burger and shake were awesome and I idled over there for a while. By 2:30 pm I went to Big Bazaar in Center Mall and bough the usual things I buy. Soaps, deodorant, sugar, apples, Pringles, bread, garlic & jalapeno mayo (my fav) and chocolate. That’s all. Nothing major. I then went to get a soft drink as I was sweating by then and came home.

Long Week

What a week! Infact include the previous Thursday and Friday as well and that’s 7 days of work that has seen a lot of stress, strain and pressure plus long hours. I think…yeah on Tuesday I think I left kinda on time but it’s been so much pressure and man am I feeling it. Bags under my eyes, that you could pack all your belongs in and body aches and tiredness all over.

I came home at 5:30 am last two days, though Friday’s shift I didn’t do much over time. But this is getting ridiculous. Two days in the week seem like 6 days or more! That is not good for the body and your overall outlook. I came home and tried to stay awake long enough to eat a sandwich I had brought from the cafeteria at work for breakfast and watched an episode of The Big Bang Theory and it was 6 am by then. I went straight to sleep and woke up at 12:30 pm. I had the biggest headache and sinus problem and I felt like crap.

I have since had the shower and a few coffees helped. I ordered shawarma plates for everyone (dad, mom, Mumu my niece) and chilli gobi with kuboos for my sister who came over at night. Really enjoyed that as it was delicious. I’ve been on Youtube a lot today and also watched Damien : The Omen II this afternoon post lunch.

5 Reasons Why Atheists Are Good For The World

As you probably know, I am an atheist. Quite frankly, though, I couldn’t care less whether you are an atheist or religious. There’s no reason why a contrast in belief systems should ever stop two people from getting along.

One thing I will say, though, is that atheists are good for the world. And I don’t think you can argue that even if you are deeply religious. Here are just five reasons that prove the world is a better place for having people that do not believe in a higher being.

#1. Scientific & technological advancements

Science and technology are two key components in human evolution. Our species would have still progressed without atheism, but there is no doubt that atheists have played a major role in the developments.

Atheists don’t merely accept the hand that is dealt by nature. Experts explain here how genetically modified humans are possible thanks to tech and science. Meanwhile, there are many other aspects of medical science and discovery that may not have occurred without atheists.

#2. Intelligence

There are several studies that show a positive correlation between atheism and intelligence. While I’m probably not the greatest example of that, I assure you it does exist.

That’s not to suggest atheists are actually smarter. However, atheists are perhaps more inquisitive as they pose existential questions. Contesting the notion that “God just made it happen” certainly has an impact.

#3. Peacekeeping and integration

It would be far too simplistic to state that all wars are caused by religion. Still, it’s impossible to ignore that it is a common factor. Atheists are more likely to integrate with people from other walks of life. Marxist views show that atheists have been guilty of atrocities too. Atheists tend no to kill others in the name of atheism. The fact that terrorism is very rare in Scandinavia and non-religious regions gives further credence to the argument.

#4. Belief system makeup

Many people view the failure to believe in a higher power as an unnatural perspective. On the contrary, this study shows that it is just as natural as religious beliefs. After all, they are all (including atheism) ideologies that have been passed down.

If a society can exist with different cultures that believe in varying gods, there’s no reason non-believers can’t be involved too.

#5. Human choice

While I don’t believe in any religious script, I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that I could be wrong. Still, the scripts were all produced many years ago. As such, many of the teachings simply don’t match up with modern life.

Atheists are often behind the fight for equality relating to sexuality, race, and other key human issues. Without them, there’s a strong chance that religion would still be playing catch up. The fact that people are able to live more freely can only be a positive – even if you disagree with their decisions.

One last note – I do believe that the world is a better place thanks to religion too.

Five Favorite Family Night Movies

What are your five favorite movies for a family movie night?

What family night? I am not married and no kids and no girlfriend(s) so it’s usually just me choosing the movie to watch. In this apartment it’s my dad, mom and me but it’s almost like it’s them and me sharing the apartment rather than us living together as the only things we do together is eat lunch or dinner together. I don’t watch their Malayalam tv shows and the rare movies that they watch.

And they don’t sit and watch movies with me. Anyways, I watch my movies & tv shows in my bedroom. So here is what I would pick as family movies, if I had a wife & kids:

  • Home Alone
  • Gremlins
  • Ghostbusters
  • The Goonies
  • Jurassic Park

How to Avoid Holiday Disasters This Year

If you are a family man or woman, you might already be excited about meeting your long distance relatives and friends and spending some quality time together. However, according to Murphy’s Law, if something can go wrong, it will happen at the worst possible time. If you would like to avoid disasters and make sure that you are relaxed and worry-free during the Christmas and New Year period, pay attention to these risks.

Safety

In case you are planning on spending a couple of days or even a week at your relatives, you will leave the house vulnerable to people with bad intentions. This is why you need to upgrade your security and safety around your home. It might be a good idea to ask one of your neighbors to collect the mail, or even park their car in your drive, so you being away is less obvious. Set up timers for your TV and your lights, so your home doesn’t look abandoned at all.

Appliances

Next, if you are expecting guests over the Christmas period, you will need to make sure that your heating, air conditioning, and appliances are working correctly. There is nothing worse than having a broken heater or an oven that is only working when it feels like. You might want to get in touch with a hvac contractor before the holidays and get your appliances and heating system a good servicing and checkup.

Insulation

You are likely to spend more time at your home, which means that you will use your heating and your rooms more. If there are cold patches in your living room, this might be the time to get them fixed, so you don’t end up paying a fortune for heating your home for the couple of days you are spending there enjoying the company of your loved ones.

Trees and Branches

It is great to have a winter wonderland, but if you will have friends and family members visiting, you will need to tidy up your front yard and your driveway. Get rid of the fallen branches and the leaves that can get slippery when wet, so you can avoid accidents that will land you at the emergency services. If you haven’t had your trees and shrubs cut back or your old branches inspected, you can get in touch with a tree surgeon.

Weather

Before you plan any programs holiday fun, nights out, or visits to the local church, you should always check the weather. If you live in an area that has loads of snow, chances are that you will need to have the shovel and the snow chains ready, so you will not end up stuck in the middle of nowhere. Those in remote areas should always check the weather forecast and have enough food stored in the cupboards as well as a fully functional generator.

We all want a pleasant and carefree holiday season. Make sure that you check the risks and address them before it is too late.
