Will Arsenal Sign Perisic?

Arsenal already have a personal agreement in place for Inter Milanā€™s Ivan Perisic and will look to press on with a deal today. Thatā€™s according to Italian football journalist Nicolo Schira. The Gunners have been linked with a move for the Croatian winger in recent days and Inter confirmed last night that Perisic has asked to leave the club. Director Giuseppe Marotta told Sky in Italy: ā€œPerisic has asked to leave but there is no offer for him. We will see in the coming days. We will listen to the request of Perisic. We must try to satisfy him but also respect the value of him.ā€

The 29-year-old played no part as Inter lost 1-0 at Torino yesterday with manager Luciano Spalletti saying: ā€œIf he doesnā€™t want to play then of course heā€™s going to be left out.ā€ Arsenal can only complete loan moves this month due to their restricted finances but want to strengthen. Having continued to fail to reach an agreement with Barcelona for Denis Suarez, Unai Emery wants to recruit Perisic on an initial loan move. And Schira – a reporter for La Gazzetta dello Sport – said on Twitter that Arsenal and Inter remain in talks over a deal.

It is claimed the player has already agreed to move to north London but that Arsenal sporting director Raul Sanllehiā€™s offer is a six-month loan with an option to buy in the summer. Schira adds that Inter chief Marotta wants the deal to be a permanent one or with an obligation, rather than an option, for Arsenal to make the move permanent. He adds that the two clubs will be in contact once again today. Perisic, who was heavily linked with Manchester United last summer after helping Croatia to finish as runners up at the World Cup, is a key figure at San Siro. Sky in Italy claim Inter rejected Arsenal will have to pay a ā‚¬5million (Ā£4.3m) loan fee for the winger.
