47 Meters Down

47 Meters Down is a 2017 survival horror film directed by Johannes Roberts, written by Roberts and Ernest Riera, and starring Claire Holt and Mandy Moore. The plot follows two sisters who are invited to cage dive while on holiday in Mexico. When the winch system holding the cage breaks and the cage plummets to the ocean floor with the two girls trapped inside, they must find a way to escape, with their air supplies running low and great white sharks stalking nearby. The movie was released in the United States on 16 June 2017, and in the United Kingdom on 26 July 2017. The film received mixed reviews but was a box office success, grossing over $62 million worldwide against a budget of about $5 million.

Sisters Lisa (Mandy Moore) and Kate (Claire Holt) are on vacation in Mexico after Lisa’s boyfriend recently broke up with her. They decide to go watch sharks from a diving cage with two local men. At the docks, Lisa is wary of the boat and its owner, Captain Taylor (Matthew Modine). Kate is a certified diver, but Lisa is new to diving. They lie to Taylor and tell him that Lisa is experienced. Unbeknownst to everyone, the cable supporting the cage is fraying. The two men go first and then the two ladies – which is when the the cable breaks – and the cage sinks to the bottom which is 47 meters below the surface and out of communication range with the boat.

Kate swims up seven meters to resume communication with Taylor, who tells her that Javier will be coming down with a spare winch cable to attach to the cage. He advises them to stay in the cage because the sharks are close by. Both women are running out of air but soon see a flashlight in the distance. With Kate low on air from the previous swim, Lisa swims out to get Javier’s attention. A shark tries to attack her but she avoids it. Lisa becomes disoriented about her position. Javier attempts to usher her back towards safety, but he is killed by a shark. Lisa takes his spear gun and the winch cable and swims back to the cage. The spare cable is attached but it also snaps and the cage sinks back down, landing on Lisa’s leg and pinning her. Kate tells Taylor they are low on air and Lisa is trapped.

He sends air tanks down and tells them the coast guard is an hour out. He also warns that the second tank may cause nitrogen narcosis, which can lead to hallucinations. Kate finds three flares to signal the coast guard. As she returns to the cage, she is attacked and presumably killed by a shark. Lisa uses the spear from the spear gun to pull a tank toward her and dons it, getting more air. Kate is injured and her blood is attracting more sharks. Lisa uses her BCD to lift up the cage, freeing her leg. Due to the nature of Kate’s wounds, the sisters decide to swim to the surface, using one of the flares to scare off the sharks. At the 20-meter mark, Taylor reminds them they must wait five minutes to decompress and avoid the bends. Kate accidentally drops the second flare and lights the third, discovering that they are surrounded by sharks.

Taylor yells for them to drop their gear and make a break for the surface, and they swim as fast as they can. One of the sharks bites Lisa’s leg but she escapes. Both women make it to the boat but Lisa is attacked again. She sticks her fingers in the shark’s eye and it releases her. The men pull the sisters onto the boat, saving them. Lisa then realizes that she has been hallucinating all this time due to nitrogen narcosis; she is still at the bottom of the ocean with her leg pinned under the cage. Coast guard divers arrive to rescue her and carry her to the surface. Lisa comes out of her hallucination and realizes that her sister is not with her, having already been killed by the shark.

Entertaining and sad at the end, it’s a good shark attack/survival movie. Tension filled but I kinda knew that one of them would die and in the vein of most such movies, it is Kate who is killed. So it’s kinda predictable but enjoyable. 7 outta 10!

How To Get To Heaven & Wash Your Hair

“If I sold my house and my car, had a big garage sale, and gave all my money to the church, would that get me into heaven?” I asked the children in my Sunday school class.

“NO!” the children all answered.

“If I cleaned the church every day, mowed the yard, and kept everything neat and tidy, would that get me into heaven?”

Again the answer was, “NO!””Well, then, if I was kind to animals and gave candy to all the children and loved my wife, would that get me into heaven?” I asked them again.

Once more they all answered, “NO!”

“Well,” I continued, thinking they were a good bit more theologically sophisticated than I had given them credit for, “then how can I get into heaven?”

A five-year-old boy shouted out, “You gotta be dead!”

While shopping in a food store, two nuns happened to pass by the beer, wine, and liquor section.

One asked the other if she would like a beer.

The second nun answered that, indeed, it would be very nice to have one, but that she would feel uncomfortable about purchasing it.

The first nun replied that she would handle that without a problem. She just picked up a six-pack and took it to the cashier.

The cashier had a surprised look, so the nun said, “This is for washing our hair.”

Without blinking an eye, the cashier reached under the counter and put a package of pretzel sticks in the bag with the beer.

“The curlers are on me.”

A Quiet Weekend

So this weekend has been mostly one of quiet downtime. The last few weekends since late September I have gone out atleast on one of the two weekend days and gone for either beer, pizza or burgers or whatever food that it is I crave on that day. I even went for a couple of movies and went to Lulu Mall. The other day I spent at home. The last two weekends have been beer drinking and good food and I even went out this Wednesday.

This weekend however I knew that I wanted to just chill and relax at home. Mainly as I would be working 8:30 am for the next few days. Tomorrow infact I have to wake up at 5 am so I can get to the office by 7:30 am or 7:45 am. This is because we have some of the clients in the office at that time and they will be conducting a training for some of us. They are giving us new business and this means growth for our company and process. I too will be attending the training and then the next week I think I have to train some of our employees on the new process.

So yesterday I slept in and had a light lunch and watched Prometheus in the afternoon. I spent the evening drinking coffee and watching Youtube videos. At night it was a Mutton Whopper with fries, two hash browns and a Pepsi. I watched some tv. Today again, light breakfast and light lunch but we are having shawarma plates for dinner and I will watch Alien : Covenant before I sleep early. I have been drinking a lot of juice this weekend as well.

Aladdin (2019)

Aladdin is a 2019 American musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Pictures. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who co-wrote the screenplay with John August, it is a live-action adaptation of Disney’s 1992 animated film of the same name, which itself is based on the eponymous tale from One Thousand and One Nights. The film stars Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, Billy Magnussen, and Numan Acar, as well as the voices of Alan Tudyk and Frank Welker.

The story is ofcourse the same as the one we have seen in the 1992 classic animated film from Disney. Aladdin, the young street urchin with a heart of gold meets and falls in love with Princess Jasmine, who is in disguise in the poor markets of Agrabah. Meanwhile, the grand vizier, Jafar, schemes to overthrow Jasmine’s father as the Sultan. He, along with his pet parrot sidekick Iago, seeks a magic lamp hidden in the Cave of Wonders that will grant him three wishes. He has been unable to retrieve the lamp himself because only “the diamond in the rough“ is allowed to enter the cave; anyone else will be devoured and killed by the cave itself.

Jafar finds out that Aladdin is the one and has his soldiers take the young man to the cave. In return for retrieving the lamp for Jafar he promises to make Aladdin rich enough to impress Jasmine. Jafar warns Aladdin not to take anything but the lamp, even though he will be very tempted to. Inside the cave, Aladdin finds a magic carpet and obtains the lamp. Abu accidentally causes the cave to collapse after he picks up a ruby, as the cave thinks he is stealing. He gives it to Jafar as he hangs perilously from the exit of the cave in exchange for his help up. Jafar double crosses him however, and throws him and Abu back into the cave, though Abu steals the lamp back. The magic carpet also catches Aladdin and saves him from falling to his death. Trapped in the cave, Aladdin rubs the lamp, unwittingly summoning an omnipotent Genie, who lives inside it. Genie explains that he has the power to grant Aladdin three wishes, with the exceptions of murder, romance, resurrection of the dead, and more wishes. Aladdin tricks Genie into freeing them from the cave without using a wish. He then wishes to be a rich prince, calling himself Prince Ali and heads to Agrabah.

So ofcourse he woos Jasmine and impressed her on the magic carpet ride. while Genie goes out with Jasmine’s handmaiden Dalia. When Jasmine tricks Aladdin into revealing his true identity, he appears to convince her that he is actually a prince and only dressed like a peasant to meet the citizens of Agrabah beforehand. When Jafar find out that Ali is really Aladdin throws Aladdin into the sea, saying if he lives, it will be because he found the lamp and the Genie saved him. If he dies, he really is a prince and doesn’t have the lamp. Abu and the carpet arrive with the lamp and Aladdin rubs it just before losing consciousness. He awakens though, having been saved by Genie, at the cost of his second wish. They talk to Jasmine, who is also suspicious of Jafar, and then expose Jafar, who is arrested and imprisoned in the dungeon. The Sultan offers Aladdin the position as heir to the throne. Fearing he will lose Jasmine if the truth is revealed, Aladdin needs Genie with him now and refuses to free him, much to Genie’s disappointment.

Iago frees Jafar who then steals the lamp from Aladdin and becomes Genie’s new master. He uses his first two wishes to become Sultan and then, when the guards refuse to acknowledge the change at Jasmine’s request, to become the world’s most powerful sorcerer, imprisoning the guards and Jasmine’s pet tiger Rajah. He then exposes Aladdin’s identity to Jasmine and exiles him and Abu to a frozen wasteland on the other side of the Earth. He threatens to kill the Sultan and Dalia unless Jasmine agrees to marry him. At the wedding ceremony, Aladdin and Abu return, having been rescued by the magic carpet and Jasmine steals back the lamp. Furious, Jafar transforms Iago into a roc to give chase. Iago overpowers them and steals the lamp back, destroying the magic carpet in the process.

Aladdin stalls Jafar by taunting him for being second and less powerful than the Genie. An incensed Jafar is tricked to use his last wish o become the most powerful being in the universe. Due to the vagueness of the wish, Genie is able to use it to turn Jafar into a genie; chained to the lamp without a master, Jafar gets trapped inside, dragging Iago inside with him. Genie throws Jafar’s lamp to the Cave of Wonders and repairs the magic carpet. Aladdin keeps his promise, using his last wish to free Genie and allow him to live as a human. Jasmine & Aladdin  then share a passionate kiss. Genie marries Dalia and leaves to explore the world and start a family with her. Aladdin and Jasmine get married and start a new life as well.

While there isn’t much wrong with the film or the acting (it’s pretty much a Disney movie) the problem is many of us will compare it with the 1992 animated film. Massoud & Scott are pretty good as the lead pair but the problem is Will Smith isn’t as good as a Genie. No fault of his but it’s just the ghost of Robin Williams looms large over the movie. Williams killed it as the Genie and can never be bettered. Also the villain isn’t very threatening and lacks a menacing presence which even the cartoon version had! Other than that it’s pretty good. 8 outta 10!

Thanksgiving Meals

Turkey. Dressing. Cranberry Sauce. Pumpkin Pie. What does Thanksgiving dinner look like at your house?

I have never had roast turkey with all the dressing and stuffing and cranberry sauce. I have never had a pumpkin pie. I live in India and we don’t have a Thanksgiving Day. Infact, isn’t it only Canada and the US who have Thanksgiving day? Late October for Canada and late November for the Americans.

The only turkey meat I have had is from Subway, the slices that they have in their subs. I like it a lot but I want turkey legs, turkey wings and some roast turkey. They look so awesome and delicious. But I think it’s very, very expensive here in India and atleast the place I checked with a few years ago, it was way outta my budget.

I like cranberry juice and cranberry as well. I like the juice with my vodka but I haven’t had any cranberry sauce yet. I wonder how it would taste like. I would love to try some. And finally the pie – I love pie but I haven’t had pumpkin pie yet. In fact I haven’t had pumpkin flavoured anything yet. I see a lot of pumpkin flavoured beer from the craft breweries in the US & Canada. Send us some.

Strict Laws In Norway

Selling (and buying) alcohol on a Sunday

Alcohol in Norway is state-regulated. Anything stronger than 4.7% can only be sold at the state-run vinmonopolet shops, which close at 6 p.m. on weekdays, 3 p.m. on Saturdays and remain closed on Sundays and national holidays. And although you can find lighter alcohol options like beer and cider at the supermarket, these are only accessible until 8 p.m. on weekdays, 6 p.m. on Saturdays and never on Sundays. So basically, if someone tells you they know a place where you can buy a beer on a Sunday, you should know it’s definitely something illegal that could get you in trouble.

Smoking in a public area

Norway banned smoking in public spaces way back in 2004 – and is continuously taking steps to discourage people from smoking. To be on the safe side, if you feel the need to smoke when you’re outside, it’s better to do some snus.

Stealing someone’s cloudberries

This one is particularly interesting, given that in Norway’s it’s every man’s right to forage the forests for berries. But not all berries were created equal. Molter, also known as ‘cloudberries’ or ‘highland gold’, are considered rare delicacies since they’re not commercially grown. You’re only allowed to pick them from places that are not fenced otherwise there may be serious trouble and we don’t just mean the police: farmers have been known to shoot at trespassers for stealing their cloudberries. Yikes.

Using studded tires before October 31

Driving regulations are quite strict in Norway, which is understandable considering how icy and dark the streets can get half of the year. So it’s imperative to use summer tires in the summer and winter tires in the winter – and the dates to make the switch are actually very specific. Studded tyres or snow chains are not allowed from the second Monday after Easter to October 31, or October 15 if you’re in Northern Norway.

Hitting a child

This one is really serious. Of course many agree that parents should never hit (or corporally punish in any way) their children, but Norway is taking this one step further. Even a mild slap from a parent to a kid is completely illegal – and reason enough for social workers to pay you a visit. In many cases, as extreme as that may sound, children are being taken away from their families and put into foster care. So be very careful to not let momentary anger or frustration make you do something you will regret.

Cycling on motorways and tunnels

Cycling in Norway will get you far – just not on the motorway. Although cyclists in general enjoy many privileges, and car drivers are for the most part very mindful of them, some places are still considered off limits for two (pedal-propelled) wheels. Namely you are not allowed to cycle on motorways, dual carriageways and most of Norway’s tunnels. It’s literally for your own protection.

Neutering your dog

This one may also seem strange to many, but the Norwegian Animal Welfare Act makes it very clear: you are not allowed to perform surgical procedures to your dog unless it’s strictly necessary for its health. The law was amended and relaxed a bit in 2010, but it is still in effect. The idea is that neutering/spaying is not something that will help your dog have a better life (it’s just you who’ll feel more comfortable) and Norwegian vets advocate proper training instead. You have to remember that in Norway, there is no such thing as strays and there is plenty of space for your dog to roam, have a full life and make many furry babies.

4 Huge Considerations You Need to Make When You Next Travel

Travel broadens the mind and enriches the soul, and there are so many amazing experiences to be had when you choose to travel abroad. Now, if you are serious about getting the best possible outcome from your travels, you need to make sure you plan this in advance. Make sure you look at the different elements that play a role in helping you have the most complete experience. There are plenty of great things to keep in mind when you are looking into this, and you have to do as much as you can to boost your travel adventures. Here are some of the best things you can keep in mind when it comes to improving your travel as much as possible.

  1. Where are You Traveling To?

Think about where you are traveling to and what destinations take your fancy. There are a lot of factors that play a role in helping with this, and one of the best things you can do is to choose somewhere you’ve never been before. There is no better way to have an eye-opening experience than traveling to a brand new destination and having a fresh and unique experience moving forward.

  1. Have You Considered Moving There?

Another thing to keep in mind is whether or not you have considered moving abroad. If you travel somewhere and find that you love the place, you might make a decision that you’d like to live there permanently. This means looking into the process of emigrating, as well as finding a suitable place to live. For instance, you could check out this villa for sale in Mauritius if you are serious about living on this iconic island.

  1. How to Have an Authentic Experience

It is imperative that you do as much as possible to make sure you have a fun and unique experience, and this is something that you need to keep in mind. 1. Flying Solo?

A lot of people like to think about the way they are going to travel before they are able to have exactly the right adventure. Solo travel is definitely an option, and this is a consideration that you are going to need to make. Traveling solo affords you more freedom, but there is also less of the security aspect being that you’re on your own, and this is something you need to keep in mind.

Keep these ideas in mind to help you plan and prepare for the best possible travel experience moving forward. This is something you are going to need to keep in mind when it comes to enhancing and improving your travel experiences. These will allow you to have an unforgettable experience in all the right ways.

How To Move Abroad On A Budget

Moving abroad, whether for work or just to experience life in a new place, should be properly thought out before you make the leap. If you’re trying to make this leap on a budget, it can be even more of a challenge, but it isn’t impossible. Follow these tips to make a start on this adventure without the need to ruin your finances forever.

Find Work Abroad

The best way to make a move with your finances intact is to make sure you have a job lined up in your new home.

If you like your job, find out if your company offers any opportunity for you to transfer to an office in another country. Many large companies will happily do this, and some even offer work exchange programs. You could trade places with a colleague in another office who wants to experience your home country. If you have a more specialist role, you could transfer in order to train staff in another office too.

If you work for yourself, especially online, this can be easy to keep working when you get there, especially if you’re in the digital industry. Freelance careers like web design, copywriting or even working as a virtual assistant can all easily be done from anywhere you have an internet connection.

If you are planning to work abroad, you will need to make sure you have the relevant work visas or other permits to let you work legally. If you do need to search for a new job, try and secure one before you move, as this may be required to get your work permit. Your employer should then be able to help you with working out which permits you will need and how to get them.

You could look into a work abroad scheme to help you find work too. Volunteering is a great way to make connections for work like this, or you could look into a job like teaching English as a foreign language. If you have skills in a specific industry, you may find it easier to find a job in countries in need of your skills. For example, engineers are often needed in Germany, whereas IT professionals are in demand in India. If your job is in an industry like this, spending a year working abroad can be well worth it, as you can earn good money. You can use your higher salary to save hard and put towards something like a house deposit when you get home after your year abroad.

Start The Visa Process

Make sure you start the visa process or arrange any work permits you need with plenty of time before you leave for your new life to minimise your stress levels. Depending on the kind of employment you’re going into, you might require a different kind of permit. Short-term, unpaid or work exchange positions may only need a tourist visa, but check first. Other positions will likely need a proper work visa to allow you to legally earn while you’re abroad. Visa needs differ by country, so check with a local embassy to find out what you need to start your new job. Your employer should also be able to advise you.

Find Somewhere To Live

There are often Facebook groups and websites for expats which you can use to help you find a roommate. Living with a roommate and renting a room rather than a whole apartment can not only help you to meet people but also majorly keep your costs down. Your work may be able to suggest an agency to help you find a room to rent in your new home city. Apps like PropertyGuru can also be helpful.

Prepare Your Finances

No matter how budget savvy you are, moving is always going to be expensive. You’re going to need some savings to help you through and to learn how to budget. If you’re low on funds, selling your old stuff can be a great way to raise some money. You’re likely to want to slim down your possessions anyway if you’re preparing for a big move, so you might as well sell on these items either on eBay or at a yard sale to earn some spare cash to fund the big move. Save some money by cooking at home more often, and choosing to invite friends round instead of going out. Find some ways to save some cash so you can start your new life abroad, without being saddled with debt as soon as you get there.

How To Get A New House Without Moving

Your house is one of if not the biggest things in your life; it isn’t just a house; it is a home. It is where you sleep, where you wake up every day, where you feel safe, where you raise your family, and where you make memories. Your home is somewhere you need to be happy and to feel at home, so all the signs are there that it’s time you got a new house, but you don’t want to move location, then you need to do something drastic. There are ways to solve this problem; you can stay where you are and have a brand new home by following these tips:

You need to get a new perspective, so go outside and come back into your home with a fresh pair of eyes. Pretend that you’re looking around your home for the first time, take a tour as if you are a potential buyer. Have a piece of paper with you and go into each room and write down your wish list for it. Be as adventurous as you want to be; this is your wishlist; you don’t have to be realistic at this stage. Pretend that both time and money are no issue but also remember to note down the little things too, if you need a new lightbulb then make sure you write it down; if the door handle is coming off, write it down. You may want to look into getting new windows.

Once you have done this, you will have to go through your list and prioritize it. It is generally a good idea to start with what is bothering you the most, or if you’re on a tight budget, then start with the problem that is the least expensive to fix. You should also prioritize the rooms so that you’re not trying to focus on too many things at once, and you can give your attention to one place. You should also pace yourself; you can’t do it all at once, so take your time and do it in stages.

If you need a lot of changes to be made, which makes you think you need a whole new house but you love your location, have you thought about knock down rebuilds? While your home may be old and of little value, the land it is on is valuable. In these circumstances, it makes financial sense to rebuild and change your home rather than move and change your address. The effect on families is always transformational. You get to retain a great established lifestyle and improve the value of your property.

If a whole new house is a little too much, then how about adding a conservatory? Or perhaps a patio, converting a garage, installing a whole new kitchen or bathroom, converting your loft or cellar? While this can be expensive, it can also add a lot of value to your home. You can start by looking into planning permission if you’re not able to do an extension now but intend to at a later date. Transforming a cellar into a living or storage space is particularly popular as it can boost a property’s value by up to 30 percent – so long as the build cost per square foot is less than the price per square foot of the area. It can be one of the least complex home improvements to make as it qualifies as a ‘change of use’ for planning purposes – which means you don’t need planning permission.

Late Evening Cola

Last two weekends, Saturday to be specific, I have gone to have some beers and good food. And both Saturdays I have come back home with a couple of 7Ups and a Pepsi. In fact the weekend before that, even if I didn’t go for beers, I also did the same thing but instead of the Pepsi it was a Coke.

No matter what I find that relaxing at home in the late evening on Sundays with a large pint glass and some ice (or none) and just watch Youtube videos, listen to a podcast or shoot my own videos about movies and tv shows. No matter how much I love vodka and beer, enjoying the evening with a cola is pretty cool and relaxing as well.

No matter that I usually add vodka to my cola or Sprite/7Up. No problem if I don’t have alcohol. I find it quite satisfying and calming.

Yesterday (2019)

Yesterday is a 2019 romantic comedy film directed by Danny Boyle and written by Richard Curtis, based on a story by Jack Barth and Curtis. It stars Himesh Patel as struggling musician Jack Malik, who, after an accident, finds himself the only person who remembers the Beatles and becomes famous after taking credit for their songs. The film also stars Lily James as the protagonist’s childhood friend and love interest, Kate McKinnon as his manager, and Ed Sheeran as a fictionalised version of himself.

Jack Malik is a struggling singer-songwriter from Lowestoft. His manager and childhood friend Ellie Appleton encourages him not to give up on his dreams. After a very disappointing turnout for his performance at a music festival (where its only his 3-4 friends and some kids not paying attention) he decides to give up as it has been 10 years. After Jack is hit by a bus during a global blackout, he sings “Yesterday” for his friends, and discovers they have never heard of the Beatles. After realising the world no longer remembers the band, Jack begins performing their songs, passing them off as his own.

Jack realizes that several other pieces of pop culture have vanished along with the Beatles: Coca-Cola, the Harry Potter series, the band Oasis, and cigarettes. He starts playing them at small bars and gets a record deal with a small time producer in town. After a lot of positive responses & a performance on a local live tv show, Ed Sheeran comes to visit him.  play as his opening act in Moscow. Ellie declines to join him, saying she must work at her day job as a schoolteacher, so Jack’s roadie friend Rocky travels with him instead. After the gig, Sheeran challenges Jack to a songwriting duel; he loses to Jack’s “The Long and Winding Road”. In Los Angeles, Sheeran’s ruthless agent Debra Hammer signs him to her label and engineers his rise to global fame. At Jack’s going-away party, Ellie confesses that she has always been in love with him. Jack goes back to Los Angeles and starts recording the album at EastWest Studios, but fails to come up with lyrics for the songs.

Hoping to trigger memories through association, Jack goes to the Beatles’ hometown of Liverpool, visiting landmarks such as Strawberry Field, Penny Lane, and “Eleanor Rigby’s grave”. Ellie joins him in Liverpool, and they spend a drunken evening together and kiss, but Ellie tells him she is not interested in a one-night stand. The next morning, Jack and Rocky pursue Ellie to the train station, where she congratulates Jack but tells him she cannot be a part of his celebrity life. Jack returns to Los Angeles, heartbroken. The large team behind Jack’s debut release rejects his ideas for an album title, taken from Beatles records, and name the album One Man Only, pushing his talent.

Jack persuades them to launch the album with a rooftop concert in Gorleston-on-Sea. Backstage, two fans approach him and tell him they know he plagiarised the songs, but thank him, fearing the music was gone forever. They give him the address of John Lennon, who has survived into old age, out of the public spotlight. Jack asks Lennon if he has led a successful life; Lennon replies that he has lived happily with his wife. He advises Jack to pursue the one he loves and to always tell the truth. Sheeran arranges for Jack to perform at Wembley Stadium. Jack confesses to the crowd that he plagiarised the music and that he loves Ellie, and has Rocky upload the songs free to the internet, sabotaging the record release. Jack and Ellie marry and have a family together, and Jack becomes a music teacher.

Funny, sweet and who doesn’t love the Beatles! Patel does a great job singing the songs and he also plays guitar and piano. The lead actress Lily James also comes off as being very sweet and likeable. I dug the movie though I fell asleep as I started watching it late last night and only finished the second half of it this afternoon. I give it an 8 outta 10!

Leicester City 2 Arsenal 0

Brendan Rodgers said Leicester City are “not really thinking about the title race”, despite their 2-0 win against Arsenal taking them above Manchester City into second in the Premier League. The 2015-16 champions had looked set to be frustrated as they missed several chances in the first half before Wilfred Ndidi struck the bar early in the second period. But Jamie Vardy finally broke the deadlock as he finished off an excellent team move, firing in his 11th goal of the season after Harvey Barnes and Youri Tielemans cut open the Arsenal defence. James Maddison then made sure there was no way back for Arsenal with a low strike through Héctor Bellerin’s legs and into the back of the net.

Victory means Leicester move above Manchester City and Chelsea with 26 points from 12 games, five behind leaders Liverpool but nine clear of fifth-placed Sheffield United. “We are thinking about the development of the team and making them better and if we can bring European football here in my time, that would be great,” said Rodgers. “We have thrown a hand grenade right into the middle of it all. We are working very, very well. We will just concentrate on our performance levels until 10 games to go and assess it then. “I came here to make an impact and create something that we can hopefully sustain over a number of years.” Arsenal, meanwhile, are now eight points off the top four and are without a win in the Premier League since beating Bournemouth 1-0 on 6 October.

Eighteen months ago, former Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis hailed the arrival of Emery as a coach who “plays an exciting, progressive style of football that fits Arsenal perfectly”. That description was certainly accurate about one of the teams on the pitch at King Power Stadium on Saturday, but it was not Emery’s side. The Foxes possess a clear identity and a togetherness that appears to be absent from this current Gunners side who, apart from occasional flashes, rarely troubled their opponents. Leicester dominated possession from the outset and even though they missed a number of decent chances – Ayoze Pérez firing just over after capitalising on a defensive error and Maddison putting a free-kick on the roof of the net – there was always the sense that the Foxes would find a way through.
