Eriksen Collapses During Euro2020 Match

Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen was given CPR on the pitch after he collapsed during his team’s UEFA Euro 2020 clash against Finland at the Telia Parken Stadium in Copenhagen on Saturday.

During the 42nd minute, as the ball went out of play for a Denmark throw-in, 29-year-old Eriksen rushed to receive the ball but he collapsed face-first as the ball hit his knee. Moments later, teammates Martin Braithwaite and Thomas Delaney rushed to assist him, with Delaney beckoning furiously for medical assistance. Referee Anthony Taylor immediately signaled for urgent medical assistance.

The former Tottenham player’s national teammates formed a ring around him as medical staff tried to resuscitate Eriksen on the far touchline. He was carried off to a loud ovation from the 16,000-strong crowd at the stadium. ā€œThe UEFA EURO 2020 match in Copenhagen has been suspended due to a medical emergency,ā€ said a statement. ā€œFollowing the medical emergency involving Denmark’s player Christian Eriksen, a crisis meeting has taken place with both teams and match officials and further information will be communicated at 19:45 CET. The player has been transferred to the hospital and has been stabilised.ā€

Here’s hoping he makes a strong recovery.

Cocktail : Vodka Sour

A vodka sour is one in the family of sour cocktails. Sours are defined as three parts: liquor, citrus, and sweetener. The most basic formula for a sour cocktail is 2 ounces spirit, ¾ ounce sour, ¾ ounce sweet. Of course, there are all sorts of variations on the theme! The most classic of all sours are the Whiskey Sour and Pisco Sour. But there are many more: with or without the title ā€œsourā€. This vodka sour is very similar to our Tequila Sour and Gin Sour!

The ingredients for this vodka sour are:

Vodka
Lemon juice
Lime juice (optional)
Agave syrup or simple syrup
Angostura bitters
Egg white

A vodka sour is similar to another drink with a fancy name: theĀ Cosmopolitan Cocktail! The Cosmo is essentially a vodka sour that uses cranberry juice to give it a vibrant pink color. Of course it skips the egg white foam and bitters, and uses orange liqueur (in this case Cointreau). Another variation on the vodka sour is aĀ Vodka Gimlet! The main difference with the gimlet is it uses lime juice instead of lemon. It also skips the egg white foam and bitters. Both are great cocktails that we’d absolutely recommend trying!
