Newcastle United 2 Arsenal 0

Mikel Arteta slammed his Arsenal players and admitted they were ‘nowhere near Champions League level’ after a 2-0 defeat at Newcastle left their top-four dreams in tatters. A Ben White own goal and a late Bruno Guimaraes strike condemned the Gunners to a loss which keeps them in fifth position in the Premier League, two points behind Tottenham with one game to play. Arsenal must now beat Everton at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday and hope that Spurs lose at Norwich, given the superior goal difference of their North London rivals.

Arteta’s side needed a win to move above Tottenham into fourth and put them in the driving seat to secure a Champions League spot heading into the final weekend of the season. But they were second best throughout and fell behind early in the second half when White turned the ball into his own net under pressure from Callum Wilson, who was making his first start since 27 December. Guimaraes, who has become a cult hero since joining Newcastle at the start of this year, then rounded off the impressive win when he drove into the net as Arsenal struggled to clear. Arsenal offered next to nothing, with Martin Dubravka only really tested once, with a 25-yard Mohamed Elneny shot in the second half.

Indeed, Newcastle could have won by more with Wilson coming so close to capping a dream return from injury with a stunning long-range effort that dropped just wide of the goal. The result, which also confirmed Chelsea’s finish in the top four. Newcastle, meanwhile, round off a season that provides encouragement for the future with a trip to Burnley.

The mob was gearing up to stone the adulteress when Jesus strides between her and the crowd and stares the mob down. “Let ye who is without sin cast the first stone” he cries, and at this the mob starts to look ashamed and shuffle away.

Then an old woman pushes her way to the front and throws a large rock at the adulteress. At this the crowd goes wild and everyone joins in and starts throwing rocks.

Benefits Of Selecting A Bungalow Style House

Open Design

Bungalow-style homes often feature an open concept. This brings additional natural light into the home, expanding an individual’s line of vision. With an effective layout, the airy and sunny nature of a bungalow-style home becomes a significant and beneficial feature for everyone living there. In addition, the expanded line of vision is especially helpful for parents who need to keep an eye on small children.

Affordable Maintenance

Maintaining your bungalow-style home is quite affordable. Because of the layout and open concept, this style of home is actually quite modest in terms of heating in the winter and cooling in the summer. Furthermore, the open concept makes routine cleaning much more convenient. Should you decide to go ahead with renovations, you will also have more options. This convenience and flexibility provide additional control over the process and associated expenses, which means you are increasingly able to reduce costs. With fewer choices, you would have to go with whatever is available.

Bungalows Come with Big Backyards

Bungalows tend to require larger lots to accommodate their wider floor plans, which in turn means that homeowners will have more green space — and privacy — in their backyards. For people that have a green thumb or have always wanted to design the backyard oasis of their dreams, a bungalow is a great choice.

A Solid Investment

Bungalows are becoming more and more in demand. What does that mean for you? Purchasing a bungalow now is a solid investment for resale later. An attractive bungalow really has the power to draw potential buyers in. Read back and see all the reasons a bungalow is a great home. That means it’ll be a wonderful home for someone else too, when (and if) you decide to sell your home!

Five Ways That The Rains May Affect Your Dog’s Behaviour

You may notice your dog shying away from rain sometimes when other times he seems to love it. In fact, he may just flat out refuse to go outside when it rains. There are reasons for it. Each dog is different and will respond to rain differently. The following may explain why your dogs acts so weird when it rains.

Wet Paws

Most dogs, aside from labs and a few other breeds, hate getting wet. Baths are always a good way to introduce a dog to water, but most will run and hide. Starting baths at a young age will help a dog become more comfortable with water. When it rains everything becomes wet. The grass is wet on their paws and there are puddles everywhere. Some dogs hate having their paws wet and will refuse to go outside to go to the bathroom.

Smells Are Amplified

The moisture in the air causes smells to be amplified. The water vapor holds onto the scent molecules longer causing the smells to be stronger and last longer. Once you get your dog outside, you may notice he is smelling a lot more. If your dog likes to smell for wild animals, they will love it when it rains because the scents will be stronger and easier to follow.

The Sound It Makes

Dog can hear four times stronger than we can, meaning the sound of thunder and pouring rain is much louder to them. This increase in noise can cause some dogs to become nervous and overwhelmed. Penn State did a study and found up to 30% of dogs are afraid of thunderstorms. If your dog pants, paces, barks, or hides they are afraid and need comfort. There are special vests and jackets made for dogs to help comfort them, or you can use an essential oil like lavender or chamomile in a diffuser.

Decreased Exercise

Most people are not excited about having to walk their dogs in the rain. This negative feeling is detected by our dogs and makes them associate rain with a negative feeling. Not to mention, they will not get their regular long walk if it is pouring rain outside. Fido will become bored, so it is important to play a game inside, or entertain him with a chew toy.

Rain May Trigger a Reluctance to Go Potty

Yes, many dogs have this negative reaction to rain. You can see it on your dog’s face when you let him out to potty and it’s pouring cats and dogs. If your dog hates to potty in the rain, rest assured you’re not alone. Many dogs dislike rain and its associated sensation of getting wet. This “hate” may stem from lack of a proper introduction to rain and getting baths, which should start when puppies are young, ideally during the critical window of socialization. It’s a good idea to therefore start early and turn rain into a fun event by playing under the rain, engaging the pup in fun water games and making baths fun.

Follow This Advice to Start Questioning Your Beliefs

It’s not unusual to become very firm in your beliefs, often for your whole life. In fact, many people become even more convinced of their beliefs as they get older. But, whether your beliefs are religious, moral, philosophic, or something else, it’s healthy to question them too. Questioning your beliefs doesn’t necessarily mean that you will change your mind but it will reassure you that you have considered other possibilities. Deciding to actively question your beliefs can be a little scary. What if your entire worldview changes? But by questioning, you can make sure that you’re not just blindly following whatever you were taught as a child. Here’s how you can start questioning beliefs of all kinds.

Listen without Judgement

To be able to question things, you have to be willing to listen to others. If you’re always ready to refute someone else’s beliefs, opinions, or insights with your own view, you’re much less likely to learn anything. Most importantly, you have to be able to listen to others without judgement. You might spend some time contemplating and questioning what they say, but you should try to avoid dismissing them entirely or pre-emptively deciding what’s right and what’s wrong. Go into discussions with an open mind.

Look for Conflicting Views

Actively looking for conflicting views is necessary if you want to be able to question your beliefs. If you shield yourself from things that differ from your beliefs, it’s hard to know what you should be questioning. Instead of only associating with people who agree with you and getting news or information from the same sources, you should branch out and seek other opinions. Find people who disagree with your current view and find out why they disagree. See what they have to say on the subject and how they defend their position.

Learn About Different Beliefs

Expanding what you know about different beliefs will help you to solidify your own. Do you really know a lot about other belief systems? Perhaps you think you do, but you have lots of misconceptions or you don’t have a full understanding. By learning about how to become a Christian or what an atheist really believes, you can improve your understanding of different belief systems and even which one might be a good fit for you. There are plenty of resources you can use to learn more, from reading online to talking to people in person.

Keep Questioning

If you want to question your beliefs, one of the most important things to do is to keep questioning. You might have received an answer to a question, but is that really the end of it? To really question everything, you should keep asking about the answers you receive. Who is telling you this? Do they have an agenda? What are their sources? Is there any evidence? Could the situation change? All of these questions and more are important to ask if you want to keep questioning.

Questioning your beliefs can be a lot of work, but it’s worth it if it helps you to find out more about who you are and what you believe.

Loki (TV series)

Loki is an American television series created by Michael Waldron for the streaming service Disney+, based on Marvel Comics featuring the character of the same name. It is the third television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios, sharing continuity with the films of the franchise. The series takes place after the events of the film Avengers: Endgame (2019), in which an alternate version of Loki created a new timeline. Waldron served as head writer and Kate Herron directed the first season, with Eric Martin and the duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead serving as head writer and leading the directing team for the second season, respectively.

Tom Hiddleston reprises his role as Loki from the film series, with Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Sasha Lane, Jack Veal, DeObia Oparei, Richard E. It received positive reviews, with praise for the performances, musical score, and visuals. A second season, also consisting of six episodes, is in development.

Tottenham 3 Arsenal 0

Tottenham turned up the pressure on arch-rivals Arsenal in the race for a place in next season’s Champions League with an emphatic north London derby victory. Arsenal could have confirmed a place in the Premier League’s top four with a win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but endured a dismal night to now stand only one point clear of Spurs with two games left. In a feverish atmosphere, Harry Kane gave Spurs the lead from the spot in the 22nd minute after Son Heung-min was fouled by Cedric Soares, then added a second before the break with a stooping far-post header after Rodrigo Bentancur flicked on a corner.

In between, Arsenal had been reduced to 10 men when Rob Holding was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Son, while the South Korean finished off any hopes the Gunners had when he fired in from 10 yards two minutes after half-time. Such was the manner of this Spurs win – added to the momentum they are gathering under manager Antonio Conte – they must have increasing belief they can yet snatch a top-four place away from Arsenal. Conte’s team look so impressive, organised and solid in defence with the deadly pair of Kane and Son a permanent menace in attack.

Spurs have two eminently winnable fixtures remaining at home to struggling Burnley and at relegated Norwich City while Arsenal must travel to Newcastle United – no easy task these days – before a final home fixture against Everton, who may yet be fighting for survival. Mikel Arteta’s side were never given the chance to settle and once Kane put Spurs ahead it was all downhill, with Holding’s needless sending-off making an already difficult task impossible. The late hamstring injury to key defender Gabriel only added to their suffering but the positive for Arteta and his players is that their destiny remains firmly in their own hands. If Arsenal win their next two games they will be in next season’s Champions League.

EIGHT MORE WEIRD LAWS IN ALABAMA

7. Throwing salt can lead to execution

There’s an old wives tale that dictates you throw spilled salt over your left shoulder or else you’ll have bad luck. You’ll have a worse fate if you try that in Alabama near a railroad track. The law once had a practical purpose. At one time, Alabama was an open range state which meant that livestock had free range to go wherever they pleased. The powers that be wanted to make sure everyone was accountable for their safety, including railroad companies. The state felt that throwing salt on the tracks would encourage animals to cross onto the tracks, leaving them vulnerable to being hit. To help with the problem, they made the practice of throwing salt on tracks not only illegal but punishable by death.

8. You can’t cat-call a woman

TLC wrote a great song about Scrubs in the late 90s. One of the best lines was, “a scrub is a guy who can’t get no love from me, hanging out the side of his best friend’s ride trying to holla at me.” If the group lived in Alabama, the song might not exist. Mobile, Alabama prohibits anyone from cat-calling a woman on its streets. At one time, many people in the city were military. Mobile wanted to protect the reputation of its female citizens and banned the behavior since they felt it embarrassed women.

9. You can be prosecuted for self-mutilation to get someone’s attention

Let’s face it; sometimes, we feel like no one is listening. Inside, you may be screaming, will you just understand what I’m going through. Yet, even if you want to take extreme measures to get someone’s attention, there’s one you’ll need to steer clear of if you live in Alabama. The state doesn’t like to see anyone unnecessarily injured and goes to great lengths to protect its citizens. So, if you decide to inflict bodily harm on yourself to get someone to feel sorry for you, chances are you’ll need some bail money.

10. Confetti is illegal in Mobile

Confetti is one of those things that’s fun for approximately thirty seconds. Like glitter, it seems like a good idea and then gets stuck on everything, and you find it days later in the most inopportune locations. Those who want a good excuse never to use it and enjoy a good reason to forbid people around you from using it as well may want to move to Mobile. The city is strict with the product and doesn’t allow possession, manufacture, or sale of tiny pieces of paper.

11. Don’t hold hands in a public restaurant

Many people love public displays of affection. Others think it’s not polite to show how much you care about someone in public and keep quieter moments between couples. Those who wish to keep their relationship with their partner subtle might not mind this Alabama law. According to Stupid Laws, it’s illegal for dating couples to hold hands while eating in a restaurant. Unfortunately, this probably means one milkshake and two straws won’t be on the menu either.

12. Loving a porcupine will get you jail time

Even though it may sound like a southern stereotype to Yankees up north, Alabama has laws that prevent persecution for anyone who wants to marry a cousin. However, there is one animal in Alabama you’ll want to stay away from, the porcupine. Most people would shy away from the idea that these creatures would make an excellent life partner. However, Alabama wants to make sure, so they wrote a law that explicitly forbids getting involved with one.

13. You can’t drive blindfolded

How often have you wondered if the driver in front of you is paying attention to the road? Moreover, do you sometimes think they are blind because their driving skills are subpar? Perhaps they might be wearing a blindfold, even though I hope not. However, if they decide to try and drive with one on, an Alabama police officer can arrest them. After all, there is a law on the books that strictly forbids this behavior. Even though it seems like this should be common sense.

14. Playing Dominoes on Sunday is illegal

After getting back from church and eating Sunday supper, you may want to have a game night with your family. That’s fine as long as you’re playing Uno, Life, Monopoly, or Scrabble. But don’t get caught playing dominoes because Alabama has made that game illegal on Sundays. If caught, you may even spend three months in jail.

What Summer Looked Like When I Was 16

What Summer Looked Like at 16

So for me the summer when I was 16 was 1992 after my 10th grade after which I went for my 11th & 12th in a college as part of a pre-degree course. I turned 16 on August 2nd 1992. I remember the excitement my classmates and I felt as we wrote our SSLC exams, with our teachers being as nervous as we were and supporting us from the sidelines. I remember speaking to my buddies and saying that I couldn’t wait for the days of not wearing a school uniform and being a lot more free, as pre-degree & then degree in a college was a lot more casual than in school.

On the last day of the exams, I remember that feeling of elation and happiness. No more school! No more uniforms. I loved the friends that I had and I admired and appreciated the teachers that we had but I wanted out as I felt that it meant I was growing up. Once the exams were over, a large group of us hung around and chatted about our plans for the 3 months before our results would be out. By 4 pm we split off into smaller groups heading to our homes, but about 6 of us went to a small shop near our school for some juice and snacks. We stayed together for about an hour, talking about burning our uniforms in a few days.

By 5 pm I was in my room at home and playing music. Enjoying myself and playing my acoustic guitar (which I hadn’t learned how to play properly) and I remember it was to a song by Deep Purple that I was grooving and jumping and broke a string on the guitar. As I calmed down a bit and the excitement of school getting over died down, as the sun set I realized that I would never be with that same group of classmates and friends ever again. That reality hit me like a brick and I came down from my big high. As the days went by I did spend a lot of time with my cousins and some of my friends.

After about a month, I went and joined a 2 month basic computer course in DataPro. I was restless and needed something to keep me occupied and make new friends as well. Besides it was only a couple of hours a day, 4 days a week. So this 2 month course at DataPro seemed like a good option and I had fun there. I got fascinated by computers as well and during my lab hours I would try to make colourful images on MsPaint. Remember that this was back in the Windows 3.x years.

I remember these two very gorgeous girls who were in my classes at Datapro. Their names were Zeena and Geena D’Couto and they were fraternal twins. And my eye was on Zeena but Geena was hot too. I spent much time with them and in the afternoons I would go to the record store nearby and go through the various album releases and check out some of the music at the store. Ofcourse I also went to various places visiting relatives. Those were good times.

When It’s Time For Bed, My Family______

Well it’s pretty much the same thing. We usually eat dinner by 9 pm or so. I would say anytime between 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Once that is done, my parents check out what they want to watch or continue to watch on tv (some inane reality tv crap or endless, mindless soaps). My dad will usually head to bed by 10:30 pm or 11 as he cannot stay awake for much longer than that. My mom will stay awake and watch all the shows and by midnight she will switch it off and then watch clips on her phone until she feels sleepy. She will then fight sleep, switch the living room lights off and go to bed.

Me? If I am not working, I usually and online till 11 pm or midnight. Then I will eat an apple and take my medicines that I am to take post dinner. All the while I will be listening to music or watching Youtube videos. By midnight I will get up and switch off my laptop and set it aside. I will take a leak and then come into my bedroom, take off my clothes (I usually sleep in the nude) and get into bed. My phones, tv remote control and ac remote will be kept on my computer chair which will be next to me. I then watch tv shows or if possible a movie before sleep takes me over.

Then I will get up, switch off the tv and the lights and get back into bed after placing my glasses next to my computer. I get in between the sheets and yawn as I start to drift off and dream about chasing comets, traveling the galaxy and visiting alien planets on my spaceship. Shawny next to me as usual.
