When To Video Record An Experience vs. Living In The Moment
How do you decide when to video record an experience versus living in the moment?
In today’s digital world, capturing moments on video has become second nature. Whether it’s a concert, a family gathering, or a breathtaking sunset, we often reach for our phones to record the experience. But at what point does filming take away from truly living in the moment? Here’s how to decide when to press record and when to simply be present.
If it’s a once-in-a-lifetime event—like your child’s first steps, a surprise proposal, or an incredible travel experience—you might want to record it. However, if it’s an experience that happens often, such as a beautiful sunset or a casual night out with friends, consider soaking it in without distractions. Before hitting record, think about whether you’ll actually watch the video later. Many people take countless videos that sit in their camera rolls, never to be seen again. If you’re capturing the moment just for the sake of it, you may be missing out on truly enjoying it.
If you do want to record, try a quick clip instead of filming the entire event. For example, record a short segment of a concert, then put your phone away and enjoy the rest of the show. This way, you have a memory saved without missing out on the full experience. Some experiences are best enjoyed with you being fully involved —feeling the music at a live performance, savoring the flavors of a meal, or making eye contact during a heartfelt conversation. If recording takes away from your ability to engage fully, consider living in the moment instead.
Are you capturing the moment for yourself or for social media? If the pressure to share is influencing your decision, it might be a sign to put your phone down and focus on enjoying the experience. Ultimately, the key is balance. Some moments are worth preserving through video, while others are best cherished through direct experience. The next time you find yourself reaching for your phone, take a moment to decide: is this a memory better lived or recorded?

Movies Or Television Shows?
Do you prefer watching movies or TV shows?
Both! It’s an question that does not need a single or individual answer. They are both different and the enjoyment is different. A great movie and a great tv series hits you differently. While both movies and TV series are forms of visual storytelling, the key difference lies in their length and structure, with movies typically offering a self-contained narrative within a shorter timeframe, while TV series have the ability to develop characters and storylines more deeply over multiple episodes across seasons, allowing for more complex plots and character arcs.
But both movies and tv shows can have the “comfort food” factor for you. I love the familiarity of seeing the same characters in different episodes as they grow with me over the few years or so that they are on and then in reruns as well. It’s like being with good friends, you enjoy their company. That is why I tend to like movies that are part of a franchise so I can see the same characters and actors in more than 1 movie – 2, 3, 4 or 5 movie series!
Movies tend to focus on a single, tightly-paced plot with a clear beginning, middle, and end, while TV series can have more intricate storylines with multiple subplots and character development over time. Due to their longer format, TV series have more opportunity to delve deeper into character motivations and backstories compared to movies. I enjoy both a lot!

RIP Gene Hackman
Oscar-winning & multiple other awards winning actor Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were found dead in their home in New Mexico, the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office told CNN. He was 95. Their cause of death has not been confirmed but it is not believed to be foul play, Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Denise Womack-Avila told CNN on Thursday morning. Deputies responded to a welfare check request at the home around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday and found Hackman, Arakawa and a dog deceased, Womack-Avila said. An investigation is ongoing, police said. Hackman’s best roles were often of conflicted authority figures or surprisingly clever white-collar villains, such as the iconic evil villain Lex Luthor in the “Superman” film series in the 1970s and 80s. Many held a hint – sometimes more than a hint – of menace.
In a career that spanned six decades, he received two Academy Awards, two British Academy Films Awards and four Golden Globes. Hackman’s two Academy Award wins were for Best Actor for his role as Jimmy “Popeye” Doyle in William Friedkin’s action thriller The French Connection (1971) and for Best Supporting Actor for his role as a villainous Sheriff in Clint Eastwood’s Western film Unforgiven (1992). He was Oscar-nominated for his roles as Buck Barrow in the crime drama Bonnie and Clyde (1967), a college professor in the drama I Never Sang for My Father (1970), and an FBI agent in the historical drama Mississippi Burning (1988).
Hackman gained further fame for his portrayal of Lex Luthor in Superman (1978) and its sequel Superman II (1980). He also acted in: The Poseidon Adventure (1972), Scarecrow (1973), The Conversation (1974), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Under Fire (1983), Power (1986), Loose Cannons (1990), The Firm (1993), The Quick and the Dead (1995), The Birdcage (1996), Enemy of the State (1998), Behind Enemy Lines (2001) and Runaway Jury (2003). He retired from acting after starring in Welcome to Mooseport (2004).
Hackman was married twice. He had three children from his first marriage. In 1956, Hackman married Faye Maltese (1929–2017), with whom he had one son and two daughters: Christopher Allen, Elizabeth Jean, and Leslie Anne Hackman. The couple divorced in 1986, after three decades of marriage. In 1991, Hackman married classical pianist Betsy Arakawa (1961–2025). They shared a Santa Fe, New Mexico. he Santa Fe Police Department said there were no significant signs of foul play but did not provide either time or cause of death.
Nottingham Forest 0 Arsenal 0
Arsenal’s slim title hopes faded further after a frustrating stalemate at Nottingham Forest.
The goalless draw at the City Ground left the Gunners 13 points behind leaders Liverpool, who now look like making the run-in a title procession. If that is the case, the last few days will be viewed as pivotal to Arsenal’s season following their home defeat to West Ham and dropped points against third-placed Forest. Before this game, with the Gunners 11 points behind Liverpool and having a game in hand, boss Mikel Arteta vowed to keep fighting, but it is surely now a futile chase after Wednesday’s results.
They needed to win at Forest but lacked a cutting edge, despite dominating possession, with their attacking options blunted by injury. Without the injured Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard and Mikel Merino were neat and tidy up front but offered no focal point. The closest Arsenal came was when full-back Riccardo Calafiori’s effort bounced off the post and into Matz Sels’ arms midway through the first half, before the goalkeeper saved Merino’s header soon after the break.
Their control of the ball at least denied Forest the chance to find 18-goal Chris Wood. When the striker finally got some second-half service, Arsenal keeper David Raya denied him with a good block. The draw kept alive Forest’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season, sitting six points behind Arsenal and two clear of Chelsea in fifth. Arsenal’s title hopes are surely over after they were held, while Liverpool beat Newcastle 2-0 at Anfield to extend their lead at the top.

This Or That When It Comes To Food
Would you rather eat over-salted or under-salted food for the rest of your life? Sickenly-sweet or nothing sweet ever again? A notch too spicy or no spicy food ever again?
Oh one of these tough prompt to answer. While I think that balance is the right way to go, when I get these answers I think what would I prefer on a daily basis and has it changed since I was younger. I guess I will answer them one by one.
Over-salted or under-salted food : Under-salted. Too much salt gives me indigestion and makes me feel way too thirsty and an overall uneasiness. I’d rather take it with less salt any day.
Sickenly-sweet or nothing sweet ever again : Oh dear! While I like sweet things and have a sweet tooth, too sweet can also be a problem. I guess I will go with it though. We all need sweetness in our lives.
A notch too spicy or no spicy food : And this one is actually very easy to pick. Over the last 15 years or so I have developed a distaste for overly spicy food. I like some tang and a little kick but overly spicy is way too much for me to handle. So I will take no spicy food please.

Chromebooks : What Are the Features & Is It The Right One For You?
Chromebooks have been around since 2011, but they’ve undergone a serious transformation since the early days. They’re no longer the low-resolution, low-powered machines from the days of old. Now, in addition to the ones that fit the needs of casual users, a handful of them are capable of running games, a far-fetched idea at one point in time. Sure, you can probably do more on a Windows machine, but if you’re looking for something affordable and zippy enough for everyday tasks, a Chromebook might just be the best option. I am looking at getting a new laptop soon and was wondering what the features of a Chromebook are:

FOOD REVIEW #515
What Subscription Service Or Premium Fee Is 100% Worth It To You?
For a service that I have avoided and only signed up a month or two here and there since it first came to India, I am now thinking as to how I could not have signed up for it full time. That is a huge turn around. In fact I can only remember back in August 2019 when I had a fractured toe and the sprain at the same time that I truly enjoyed Netflix. That’s because I wanted to watch a sitcom, Full House, and since it was available on Netflix, I started watching that and signed up for Netflix.
And then since I had the injury, I watched a couple of movies, watched the sequel of Full House, Fuller House and also a little here and there. But then I cancelled it and then it was in November of 2024 that I signed up again. And I haven’t cancelled it yet, 4 months later and don’t plan on doing it anytime soon. There are just too many great options to choose from and I don’t think you can get bored if you have a connection.
It’s totally worth having a subscription, especially since they lowered the month fees by quite a bit. In fact it’s dirt cheap when you think about it. So I would say that everyone who streams should have a plan with Netflix. I will have to buy a new tv though but until then I can watch on my laptop.
10 Fascinating Facts About Guinness
1. The Guinness Harp: The harp, registered as a Guinness company trademark in 1876, is also the national symbol of Ireland. However, the two can be much more easily differentiated by the soundboard. The soundboard (straight edge) of the Guinness harp is always on the left while the soundboard of the Republic of Ireland harp is always on the left.
2. Worldwide Production: While Guinness originated in Ireland, it’s now brewed in almost 50 countries around the world.
3. By-products for Agriculture: The spent grain from the brewing process at St. James’s Gate Brewery are sold to farmers as animal feed.
4. Overseas Breweries: The first overseas Guinness brewery (outside of Ireland and the UK) was officially opened in Nigeria in 1963. Nigeria is now the second-largest market for Guinness.
5. Draught Technology: The widget was introduced in 1988. The first iteration was fixed in place at the bottom of the can. It was this widget that won the Queen’s Award for Technological Achievement in 1991. The second generation widget, the ‘floating widget’, was introduced in 1997.
6. Railways: The St. James’s Gate Brewery had its own internal railway system, with 8 miles of track crisscrossing the premises. The system was operational until 197
7. Tourist Attraction: The Guinness Storehouse, a visitor centre at St. James’s Gate Brewery in Dublin, has become one of Ireland’s top tourist attractions and one of the top things to do in dublin. It offers seven floors surrounding a glass atrium shaped in the form of a pint of Guinness. The highlight for many is the Gravity Bar on the seventh floor, which offers panoramic views of the city and a complimentary pint.
8. Water Source: The water used for Dublin-brewed Guinness comes from the Wicklow Mountains, County Wicklow is known colloquially as the ‘Garden of Ireland’.
9. Guinness and Champagne: The “Black Velvet” cocktail is a mix of equal parts of Guinness Extra Stout and champagne. It originated in the Brook’s Club, London to mourn the death of Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria.
10. Guinness Toucan: In fact, a series of zoo animals were introduced as part of a campaign to advertise Guinness beginning in 1935. The first animal to make an appearance was the sealion followed by the toucan. The strapline used for the campaign featuring the zoo animals was ‘My Goodness, My Guinness’.
Take The Large Diamond Before The Aliens Can
Getting back to the journeys of my family, set in the fantastic futuristic science fiction universe that I have created in my mind, read this post and the remaining before you proceed. Ok, all caught up? Now read on!
Ok, post the activities and excitement of the alien circus stuff, most of us felt kinda pooped! The kids too felt a bit drained and it felt like a good time to chill out and do nothing. The next few days, everyone lazed around for the most part but the kids caught up on school classes. Some of my cousins too spent a few hours each day on their respective work for back home but we had sleep in mornings and late breakfasts followed by a few hours of work or studies in our suites and then a nap post lunch. The elders too did the same. Evenings were a lot more fun and we spent them mostly together for big family dinners.
Almost a week goes by and one of my youngest female cousin comes to me and asks me if we could find a class-human like planet (a planet which is similar to the conditions of our home base planets) but without any humanoid life on it. She wanted to conduct some studies there for her research papers. I said sure and we went to the bridge and took a scan. Another cousin sister had heard this and she wanted to join in on the scans and studies for her work. Perfect, so on the bridge the 3 of us decided to go a scan and find something suitable. However, that was when I was contacted by a colleague on the starfleet like band.
The colleague was on a small science & research vessel who had been called away for lending a hand to a less advanced alien race who were friendly. However they had previously been tracking an enemy alien race’s two ships were headed in the same area as I was headed to and he told me of a possibility of a rare diamond like stone, that is used for powering a deadly weapon. We don’t have much communication with this alien race. If we could keep them away from it, it would be really good. He asked me if I could take a look. It felt like a simple thing to do, so we headed to the planet which was one of just 12 in a large star system. The diamond was on a class-human like planet that just so happens to have a few animal species but no humanoids or advanced life.
So I found that if I hid the ship behind one of the moons, the chemical composition of the moon interfered with scans just enough to make us unscannable unless you knew what to look for. So I got the pilot robots to put us in orbit and then my cousins and I beamed ourselves as close as possible to the location of the huge diamond based on our scans. Once again, it is just my cousins and I with a few robots. Yes dogs are included in their enclosed robots. I then command the pilots to take the ship behind the moon I had mentioned. We take scans and find that the diamond is inside a cave, a tunnel of caves inside a mountain range. We are walking distance from the entrance and therefor head towards it on foot.
Now, we walk towards the cave but the two female cousins, who are running scans of the star system via our ship’s systems, inform me that there are two alien ships that match the description of the alien race, are headed this way. They haven’t seemed to have scanned our vessel or seen it but they were headed towards this planet. We had little time to spare. So we headed inside the cave and found the huge diamond, the size of a full grown cow, deep inside the cavern. As we did this, the two ships were now in orbit and then beamed a small group of the aliens near the area of the cave. It looks like they hadn’t discovered the diamond yet but had scanned the area and knew the rough location of it.
Quickly I commanded our ship to come back into order and we beamed the diamond into storage in our ship. My cousins and I beamed ourselves back into our ship, once we reached the mouth of the cave, just a few minutes before the aliens reached the cavern. They did see a brush moving – which was touched by one of my cousin sister before we all got beamed out – but don’t see us. As I head to the bridge, followed by a few of my cousins, the rest head to go to the main living room area where my uncles, aunts and parents are sitting with the kids (it is almost lunch time). The elders are wondering what the fuss was regarding the two alien ships, so my cousins informed them what had happened. It looks like they haven’t been able to detect our ship yet, but they know that something was up and that someone had just beaten us to it. The brush moving without a breeze blowing, was a dead give away.
On the bridge, I check to see if the alien ships have detected us and since it doesn’t seem to be, I quickly get the pilot bots to move us behind the same moon once again. We decide to wait it out behind the moon and wait till the aliens have left as their two ships are in orbit and their away teams are still down on the planet. If I had a Starfleet team with me and if I was on a military ship, I would have stayed longer but since my family is with me – safe from harm but I want to avoid a confrontation, I tell the pilot to wait till the best time to leave the moon and then hit warp factor 6 as soon as possible. We managed to get away without being detected and with the large red diamond in our storage.
I decided to head out to the nearest Deep Space Starfleet station and drop the diamond off although there was no hurry. The cousins who were with me on the bridge seemed to be really excited and we headed out of the bridge and changed to comfortable clothes and then went to have lunch with everyone. Our elders and kids had a lot of questions about the aliens and the diamond and we regaled them with the story of what we saw down on the planet as our ship took us on the 3 day journey to a space station so we can hand over the large gem.
Some Fun Facts About The French Bulldog AKA The Frenchie
The French Bulldog Is a Surprisingly Good Watchdog
Although not yappy, they’ll bark to let you know if someone’s at the door. The breed can be a little territorial, but that’s where their job ends: don’t expect them to be a guard dog.
Frenchies Are Adaptable
From an apartment to a country house, French Bulldogs are happy in a variety of living environments. They aren’t a particularly athletic breed and are perfectly happy with daily walks and maybe a bit of an outdoor romp to keep them in shape.
They’re an Ideal Companion Dog
They’re the best pal for singles, families with kids, couples, anyone. Playful, loyal, and loving, they require minimal grooming and exercise.
Frenchies Are Relatively Easy to Train
Despite a reputation for stubbornness, they’re eager to please and enjoy being the center of attention.
French Bulldogs Earned Their Reputation for Stubbornness
Nobody’s perfect. But, with a little patience and the proper motivation (treats), they’re willing to learn. Turn training into a game, and your French Bulldog is all in.
Those Bulldog Jaws Are Powerful
Choose indestructible toys for your French Bulldog and expect a vigorous game of tug-of-war. Although you can pry those jaws open if necessary, your Frenchie will hold on to their target and may tear it apart.
Frenchies Require Minimal Grooming
The French Bulldog’s coat sheds minimally and doesn’t require a lot of grooming. Weekly brushing with a medium-bristle brush or rubber grooming mitt should help keep their smooth coat looking its best.
French Bulldogs Are Good With Strangers
This charming breed enjoys making new friends and gets along well with other dogs and humans. Like all dogs, Frenchies should be supervised for interactions and introductions with unfamiliar dogs or people, but most are very fond of people.
Scary Japanese Urban Legend : The Inunaki Village
Inunaki Village is a 1990s Japanese urban legend about a fictional village-sized micronation that rejects the Constitution of Japan. The legend locates the village near the Inunaki mountain pass in Fukuoka Prefecture. A real Inunaki Village, not connected to the legend, did exist from 1691 to 1889. Described as “small and easy to miss” in a forest located in Fukuoka Prefecture, the residents of the village refused to accept the Constitution of Japan and the legitimacy of the extant Japanese government. Near the village entrance is a handwritten sign reading: “The Japanese constitution is not in effect past here.” A small side road past Old Inunaki Tunnel leads toward the village.
According to the legend, “sometime in the early 1970s” a young couple on their way to Hisayama by car went into the forest seeking help when their car’s engine broke down. They entered the seemingly-abandoned Inunaki Village, where a “crazy old man” greeted them and then murdered them with a sickle. In another story, a telephone booth near the Inunaki bridge receives a call from Inunaki Village every night. People answering the call are transported to the village, and die from a curse that causes them to first lose control of their body and mind.
In reality, the area of the Old Inunaki Tunnel has been considered to be haunted due to nearby murders. On 6 December 1988, five young men abducted and tortured a factory worker whose car they wanted to steal, burning him to death with gasoline inside the old tunnel. The perpetrators were arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment. The entrances to the old tunnel were sealed. However in2000, a dead body was found in a nearby dam. Nippon TV received a letter from an anonymous person, which described the legend of the couple murdered in the village and urged the Nippon TV crew to visit the place.
Werther’s Original Butter Candies
Werther’s Original (from the original German: Werthers Echte) is a brand of caramel and butter confectionery owned by the German company August Storck, based in Berlin, Germany. The candy is popular in Europe and North America.
The sweet brand is named after the town of Werther in Westphalia, where the company was founded in 1903. In 1969, the sweet began marketing under the brand name Werthers Echte. The brand name Werther’s Original was adopted in the 1990s for the international market. They are now manufactured nearby, in the town of Halle.
The original Werthers Echte was a caramel hard candy. Werther’s Original is one of the best-selling caramel candies in the world. Werther’s Original offers hard candies, soft caramels, chewy caramels, and sugar-free caramels.
Around the world ‘Werther’s Original‘ sweets became synonymous with Grandads, Grandfathers, Grandpas and worldly older gents due to a series of 80’s and 90’s TV advertisements. These ads frequently pictured the elder generation passing on these delicious golden treats to the younger ones. These somewhat sickly trailers would show also show Grandfathers reminiscing about their own childhoods being defined by the ‘uncommonly good’ taste of Werther’s candies, before giving their chubby-cheeked grandkids a kiss and a Werther’s sweetie of their own.
Arsenal Bottle Jobs And Lose To West Ham United 0-1
Arsenal missed the chance to close the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool as West Ham ended a four-match winless run with a stunning victory at Emirates Stadium.
Jarrod Bowen got the winner against a Gunners side who later had Myles Lewis-Skelly sent off. Victory would have moved Arsenal to within five points of Arne Slot’s team, who visit champions Manchester City on Sunday, but they struggled badly against a Hammers side who defended magnificently and created the better openings over the 90 minutes. Bowen started and finished the move that led to the winner late in the first half, collecting a loose ball on the edge of his own box and feeding Aaron Wan-Bissaka before stooping low to nod the full-back’s cross into the net for his 50th Premier League goal.
It was the first time Arsenal had trailed in a home Premier league game at half-time this season, but they showed no discernible improvement after the interval – despite pinning West Ham back for much of the second period. Leandro Trossard had a low shot saved by the feet of Alphonse Areola, but the Gunners’ hopes of a route back into the contest were dealt a major blow when Lewis-Skelly was sent off for a professional foul on Mohammed Kudus near the halfway line. Referee Craig Pawson initially cautioned the 18-year-old for dragging Kudus to the floor, but the video assistant referee (VAR) ruled that Lewis-Skelly had denied the Ghanaian a clear goalscoring opportunity and the yellow card was upgraded to a red.
West Ham held on comfortably in the end to move 13 points clear of the bottom three and level with Manchester United in 15th – although they stay 16th because of their inferior goal difference. Mikel Merino was handed a starting berth in the hosts’ attack alongside Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri. The Spain international was lively in the early stages but unable to get on the end of an outswinging Thomas Partey cross towards the back post, before sending a left-footed effort high over the bar from a tight angle. Riccardo Calafiori registered Arsenal’s only shot on target before the interval, sending a fierce effort straight at goalkeeper Areola from the edge of the area, before Bowen displayed the ruthless edge the home side were lacking all afternoon.
Not An Ideal Start To A Weekend, Quiet As It May Be
Not the ideal start to the weekend. I tried to go to bed at 11 pm last night. After work, I shut down my work laptop, had a quick dinner with my mom – dad already having had his and gone to lie down in bed – and then I took an orange and some grapes and went back to my room and sat at the laptop till 11 pm. With the tv not having any sound I didn’t have anything to watch; I could have watched something on my laptop but I decided against that and just thought of watching some Instagram reels before I fell asleep.
I ended up falling asleep within minutes, which was a good thing. For some reason I ended up waking up at 2 am and couldn’t get back to sleep. So I did what I usually would do, that is get up from bed, as I wanted to pee anyways. I went online and watched videos, played some games on my phone, played some music till about 5pm. Sleepiness caught up with me and I went to bed and managed to sleep till 9:30 am. I hate when this happens as I would like to sleep for 6 to 7 hours atleast and then wake up at 6 or 7 am.
Morning was spent at my desk once again, getting up only to visit the loo, get two cups of coffee and breakfast ofcourse. Scatter in a few chats with mom & dad. At 2pm we had a quick lunch and I had an orange after that. By 3pm I took a quick nap, having retired to my bed and trying to watch more Instagram reels, managing a nap for over an hour and some minutes. At 5 15 pm I got up for our evening coffee and snack. Dinner was Subway sandwich and cookies for me while my parents had KFC and we all had 7up to drink. I’m watching football on my laptop and will most likely go to bed by 11.

- Do not discard the moisture from the pressure cooked beef.
Fry the beef.
- In a wide/deep pan (or uruli) on medium high heat, add the coconut oil.
- Once the oil is hot, add in the shallots, garlic, and curry leaves
- Saute until lightly golden then add in the cooked beef along with its juices.
- Continue to stir the beef around in your pan so that it evenly fries and encourages the moisture to reduce. This usually takes 15-20 minutes.
- About halfway through, sprinkle in about 1-2 tsp of meat masala over the beef and then continue frying
- The beef is done frying when all the moisture is gone and a gravy/spice coating has formed on the beef. That’s it! Serve with some hot Kerala porotta!
