Sens 3 Pens 1
The Ottawa Senators picked themselves up after the opening night loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins, to beat their opponents 3-1 at the Stockholm Globe Arena. Daniel Alfredsson, Ottawa’s Swedish captain, set up two goals by Dany Heatley to pace Ottawa to a 3-1 victory against the Penguins in the second half of this unique home-and-home in Sweden’s capital. Goalie Alex Auld had a heroic performance of his own in turning aside 30 shots in his first start with the Senators.
Heatley scored a pair of power-play goals to spur on the Senators on this night, was joined by Antoine Vermette on the scoreboard.
