Pearl Jam

As you can probably tell, Pearl Jam are my favourite band in the whole world (they share that coveted spot along with the Barenaked Ladies). Pearl Jam are : Eddie Vedder (vocals), Mike McCready (guitars), Jeff Ament (bass guitar), Stone Gossard (guitars) & Matt Cameron (drums). They have been in the music industry as a band from 1991 when they released their first album (now a rock classic) Ten. Since then they have released 8 studio albums proper, one double disk of rarieties (that actually makes it 11 albums), one official live album and an essential songs double cd. They also created history along the way : They recorded most of their concerts in 2000 & released 72 live albums throughout 2000 and 2001, most of them double CD sets and set a record for most albums to debut in the Billboard Top 200 at the same time.
From the ashes of Mother Love Bone, a Seattle based rock band, came Pearl Jam. The four mainstays of the band are joined by Cameron, a former Soundgarden drummer. Pearl Jam have had drummer problems; Cameron being their third official drummer since the band’s conception. The drums in Pearl Jam have been slammed by:
- Dave Krusen
- Dave Abbruzzese
- Matt Cameron
For a brief time, between the departure of Krusen and the joining of Abbruzzese, former Smashing Pumpkins member Matt Chamberlain played with them for a while. And one cannot forget the contributions of piano & keyboard player Boom Gaspar, whose work has layered the Riot Act & Pearl Jam albums.
