To The Bank In Thrikkakara

I went to the State Bank Of Travencore branch in my old stomping grounds of Thrikkakara for the second time in 2 weeks. I have an old account that my dad had started for me when I was very young, as it is near my old family house in that area. The last time I went there I had forgotten my bank account number and the young lady there looked it up for me and entered the details needed for me to maintain that account – I hadn’t used it in several years but some money from one of the investments I have sent money to that account as they had that in their system instead of my current bank details. So I went and withdrew some amount from that account and came back to the city. However I also have a PPF account there – again started by my dad when I was around 11 or 12 – and I wanted to get it closed as I hadn’t deposited any money there in ages.

So today – worst day possible – I went back to Thrikkakara to withdraw some more money and ask about closing the PPF account and transferring that cash to my savings account as the account is now matured. I will have to go back to the bank next week to fill up more forms and get it done. Probably next Friday. The worst thing was the weather today; it’s been raining non-stop since early morning and the roads are water logged, the drains are water logged and flooding out onto the streets and I got drenched twice – going that side and coming back home. On my way back I stopped to buy a new umbrella for my dad as he has lost his previous one.

The weirdest thing happened on the way home from Thrikkakara. This man sitting near me kept ripping his finger nails and bits of skin from his fingers and tossing them outside the door of the bus. He kept doing that for about 15 minutes and everyone was noticing it. And then he pulls out his phone and dials a number and keeps the phone to his ear – and I see him shaking! He was shaking violently for a bit and then slowed down. At the next stop he suddenly got up and ran out the door and we could see him running! Everyone just looked at each other as if to say “What the fuck did we just see!”

That was weird!
