Arsenal 2 Chelsea 1
Arsenal needed to win, Arsenal just had to win. The Gunners have lost five league matches already this season, have slipped 10 points behind pacesetters Chelsea and Liverpool and are currently not even in the top four. Arsene Wenger admitted the importance of this match and said “Ideally, I do not want to be 13 points behind Chelsea so let’s make it seven on Sunday night,” he said. “We know that direct confrontations with top teams become vital when you are in our position.” Well, they did reduce the gap to 7 by beating Chelsea away!

Johan Djorou turned Jose Bosingwa’s cross into his own net after 31 minutes to give Chelsea the lead as Arsenal’s title challenge looked to be in danger of suffering a potentially fatal blow. But, against the run of play, Robin Van Persie delivered two crucial blows to earn Arsene Wenger’s side a priceless victory. He may have looked well offside when he drilled home the equaliser after 59 minutes, then was on target again on the turn to complete a remarkable turnaround in fortunes. There should have been a 3rd but Denilson’s touch let him down after brilliant work from substitute Nicklas Bendtner.
Luke Retires From The NHL
“It’s a little weird,” he said. “I’ve definitely enjoyed my time playing and it looks like it’s over. There’s pretty much no regret in that area. I’ve had a great opportunity here. Bryan (Murray, the Senators’ general manager) has given me a great opportunity in the last year and a chance to come home and play at home. This is where we wanted to be as a family and it was a great thrill here at the end, playing for the Senators.

Sunday @ Home With My Music
I had a little mishap yesterday. Of the toilet kind. Right! Gasp! Laugh! Be astounded.
I’m not going to into the nasty details but I felt very embarassed even if no one got to know about it and there aren’t going to know about it. Let’s just say that I was able to save myself from any permanent scars and the shame by using my wits.
I haven’t been out this entire month! Wait, I think I went out on the 2nd of November and probably had a beer or two on the 8th as I was coming out. But I haven’t been anywhere since. It’s this illness that has caused me all this grief. I prefer to come home straight from work and with the exception of a couple of days when I stopped to have some hot soup on the way.

But I want to go out and have some coffee in one of the cafes and relax and read. Enjoy myself. I need a haircut. I want to buy a couple of dvds to watch. Oggle at the pretty girls who are out shopping on a Sunday.
But I guess that I’ll stay in today and rest. Going to work makes me very tired and by the end of the day I need an oxygen mask. So another day to rest will be good for me. It’s not too bad; I can listen to hours upon hours of the mp3s that I got and watch a movie in the afternoon. And drink some hot, black coffee that I made myself.
The Terror Of The Taj Ends
surfer dude online download Those of us lucky one sat at home drinking coffee and eating our breakfasts while the NSG soldiers cleared the Taj Hotel of the 3 terrorists that remained and created all the horror in that establishment. We watched as a dead body was dropped from a window by one of the islamic militants as the soldiers tried to see through the smoke screen that was created as a deliberate ploy. By 9:25 am Indian commandos state that the Taj Hotel is now under control. However they were still conducting room to room searches. People celebrate on the streets.
The question has been raised : Will India go to war against Pakistan over this?
Roll The Bones – Rush
It may not be the definitive Rush album for most but it is for me. Released back in 1991 and purchased by me in the summer of 1992, for a not yet 16 year old this was my first foray into Rush territory and into the world of Progressive Rock as we know it. It was still 6 years before I first set my eyes on an internet site; my knowledge of Rush was limited since I hadn’t heard about the band before but bought the album based solely on the recommendation of an older rock fanatic. From there the admiration grew for the trio of musicians who have mastered their instruments and combined form the best trio of all time. Messers Peart, Lifeson & Lee have given us albums & albums worth of lyrical gems and though Rush’s music is not for everyone, any Rush fan will hold this music close to their hearts & ears. That tape that I bought had been through my stereo system numerous times until one fine day the spool just snapped and I couldn’t listen to it anymore. Getting this album on mp3 6 years later is like finding a long lost friend.
The album starts with Dreamline is about the thoughts of a couple of lover on the search for a better future. The song reaching #1 on Mainstream Rock Tracks. It’s features the wonderful line “learning that we’re only immortal for a limited time”. Bravado is the tale of staring into the face of adversity, knowing that you may not come out as a winner but you can hold your head up high since you did your very best and you did not back down. “We will pay the price, but we will not count the cost”. This is one of Geddy Lee’s best vocal works. Next comes the title track and lead single, which is about taking chances and rolling the dice. The song is also notable for featuring a spoken two-part “rap” after the guitar solo. This rap is performed by bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee; his altered voice is achieved through a drastic lowering of pitch and adding various effects.
Next comes Face Up; lyrically follows the same trend of taking chances as it’s predecessor although it’s more upbeat. Where’s My Thing? is only the 3rd instrumental of Rush’s career and it was nominated for a Grammy – maybe they should play more instrumentals! The Big Wheel is my fav track on the album and one of my personal Rush favs of all time. It’s about youth and how you take chances against the odds in the hope for a better life. Next is Heresy, which is about the fall of communism and what the people who lived in those iron curtain countries must have felt at the time. The song then speaks of sudden capitalism with people who were now free buying up everything they’ve ever wanted to. Lyrically it is one of their best efforts of all time.
Ghost Of A Chance tells us that the odds of finding love are the only odds that make sense. Neurotica is another song where Rush flexes the heavy muscle, blistering riffs and a catchy chorus make this one a great song to listen to with your head swaying back and forth. You Bet Your Life completes the album with it’s harmonized vocals and upbeat music. As you can see, this is a concept album about gambling and taking chances for a better future.
Roll The Bones became Rush’s first US Top 5 album since 1981’s Moving Pictures peaking at #3 on The Billboard 200. The album went Double Platinum according to Atlantic Records.
A Bowl Full Of Fruit
I’m beginning to like the look of the fruit bowl in my apartment more than ever. Not the actual bowl but the colourful contents.
Two days back I had bought a bunch of green skinned bananas. Today I had bought a kilo of oranges. When I came home I saw that my dad had bought some pears that were a light yellow and some red pomograntes (my mom loves thoses).
The look of the bowl as I arranged these four different fruits on it was bright, colourful and asthetically pleasing. And what’s that good for your eyes is also very good for you.
I’m going to increase the fruit intake at home a whole lot more. It is more healthier and more tastier than anything else. Fruit salads are a whole lot more good for you as well. Tomorrow, I’ll get some apples and grapes to complete the set – mangoes are too expensive now!
Drown In My Own Tears
Jeff Beck is 61 years old now but he is still going strong. One of the most talented guitar players of all time is also one of the most underratted in the history of rock. He also excels at the Blues. Here he is with the Jools Holland backing band, playing Drown In My Own Tears

Now Begins The Recovery
I had a little tough time getting to sleep last night. My asthma inhaler ran out (stoopid, stoopid! Did not check the level) and on a day that I was having a lot of coughing & wheezing, I should have the damn thing ready to use and with me all the time. I didn’t and it was at around 9 pm when I realized it. I was feeling a bit wheezy then but I thought that I’ll try not to cough or sneeze, which only makes my asthma worse, and I should be fine until morning. I didn’t think I would be able to ask someone to go buy me meds at 9 in the night.
So I watched Friends escape to witch mountain dvd genova download all the way from the vey beginning (do you know a better way to get rid of your physical or mental illness?) and watched around 7 episodes of Season 1. This is so relaxing but I have to be careful and not laugh too much or it will start getting me coughing again. I went to sleep at around 12:45 am and woke up with a little breathing problem. I waited, patiently drinking coffee and relaxed for an hour and 40 minutes and then took a bath & a shave. On my way to the office, I stopped at a medical store, replaced my inhaler and then I could breathe easily.
It was so much better and despite the head cold and a cough, I felt so much better by noon! I was so relieved since there is a lot of work to be done, I didn’t want it to slow me down. I had lunch with the gang and went back to work feeling so much more better than yesterday. I guess I am on the road to recovery. And not a moment too soon!

Die, Die Bastard Terrorists In the Name Of Islam
I’m sure that most of you would have heard about the two days of terrorist attacks that have happened in many areas of Mumbai city, India’s commercial & largest city. The attacks started yesterday and have continued on today with atleast 125 deaths reported, including 81 Indian civilians, 14 policemen and six foreigners, including one Japanese, one Australian, one Briton, one Canadian, one Italian, and one German. Another 327 people have been reported to be injured.
The militant Islamic group claims to call themselves as the Deccan Mujahideen which is just a front for the Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistani group which has been involved in almost all terrorist attacks in India. Other than luxury hotels like the Taj & Oberoi, the bastard terrorists have also attacked a hospital & a cafe in Mumbai.

Doing Good Even If You Don’t Believe
Last night, as I was clicking on links that the blogs that I read have, I arrived at one of a devout catholic. One of this person’s entries was about how American Humanist Association in Washington DC were going to run ads on buses that read “Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness’ sake”. While I am in firm agreement with the AMA, this person is not! Obviously, since he has a problem with all ‘silly atheists’ as he puts it.
His argument is that how do we derive at ‘good’ without something to base it upon, a standard or a code of conduct. And he choses the Bible or any religious book for that matter & god as the guide for the good. He also says that if there isn’t a god then why put constraints on people to do good and telling people to ‘do good’ is at best pedantic. Mr.Catholic also doesn’t allow people to comment against his blog posts.
I have to ask : Mr. Catholic, will you only do good because god says so? Or are you only doing good so that your god won’t punish you or will be pleased with you and grant you entry into heaven? Do you really need a religious book to tell you what is wrong and what is right? It might help some people like you but the truth is most good people, who happen to believe in a god, would be good even if they didn’t believe in a god.
Do you really need a god to tell you that you should not steal? Or that you should not beat a harmless being? That you should not molest an innocent child? Do you really need to read it in the Bible to help a stranger in trouble, someone drowning or in an accident? Do you only help others just because you think Jesus or Yahweh or the fairy godmother wants you to?
If you do, then the rest of the world is in big trouble!!
And he also thinks that it is not fair to run the add in the 3rd week of November, because December belongs to Jesus and his followers and running it so close to December is harsh. And he challenges the AMA to run the add during the month of Ramadan (which he claims they won’t do since they might get sued).
That notion is a ball of rubbish! The Islamic fundamentalists would sue no matter which time of the year it is. The timings doesn’t so much matter to them – they would find a reason to protest & sue at any time of the year!
Where Have All The Floppy Disks Gone?
Toronto Mike‘s post about floppy drives made me reminisce about the handy storage system of yore (actually just a few years ago). Wasn’t it just a couple of years ago when we all shared & copied data in these square shaped disks? Now they are all but obsolete.
half broken things online download
I remember having a bunch of these with me at home and I would take them with me when I would go to surf the net at the internet parlours near my house in Thrikkakara. Once I was done for the day, I would copy all the images & files that I had downloaded from the net into said floppies and once I reached home, I would copy them into my hard disk. I even copied a few mp3s – with the aid of a small software called MS Split, that lets you cut up files into floppy size bits for easy copying of data.
Man that seems like it was so long back; I don’t think I have used a floppy since 2003. I don’t think I have even bothered with the floppy drive of my current pc which I got in September 2006! I must still have a few of them disks lying around in a carton somewhere here but ofcourse I will never ever use them again.
The Lousy Weather In My Hometown
download gran torino dvd My cough is a little better and my cold too. I feel like sleeping the entire day today with the hopes that I will wake up tomorrow feeling like a new man. But I can’t and shouldn’t miss work today. We are preparing for a couple of reviews and plans for the end of the year to showcase for the 28th & 1st.
It’s windy & quite a bit chilly in the morning and the air is dry. Works wonders with my hair too! It’s sunny in the afternoon and drizzles a bit during the evening. The evenings are a whole lot warmer and sometimes hot as the day winds up into midnight. Isn’t it obvious why people are falling sick?
Update: I did have to take a sick leave today as my chest infection was a little bad. I’m in my bed, resting and watching movies.

My Blog Is A Mechanic Type
If you go to Typealyzer blood on satan s claw movie you can find out about your blog, see if it really reflects YOU! I clicked the linkand entered my blog url and found out that my blog writing style is that of The Mechanics! Funny because I don’t do anything remotely dyi in real life.
This is my description:
The independent and problem-solving type. They are especially attuned to the demands of the moment are masters of responding to challenges that arise spontaneously. They generally prefer to think things out for themselves and often avoid inter-personal conflicts.
The Mechanics enjoy working together with other independent and highly skilled people and often like seek fun and action both in their work and personal life. They enjoy adventure and risk such as in driving race cars or working as policemen and firefighters.
It will also recommend reading material for you and also show you the brain activity when you are writing your blog. Somehow I find it difficult to believe what was shown (brain? What brain?).
Anyway, take a look and see if you agree with what the link who ll stop the rain dvd
has to say about your blog writing style.
Thanks Lady Banana for sharing the link.

Klinging On For Valkris
Klingons have been the most featured alien race in the Star Trek franchise, save for the Vulcans. The race of proud & brave space faring warriors were recurring villians in the original series before becoming uneasy allies of the Federation by Star Trek VI : The Undiscovered Country. Inspired partly by North Asians, especially Mongolians in apperance, the Klingons believe that it is better to die in battle and feel that dishonoured if captured as prisoners, often asking their captures to kill them.
Their apperance has changed quite a bit over the years and this is explained scientifically in the Wikipedia article on Klingons. Some of them looked more human in apperance (with just the high forehead and ridges to distinguish them) and others look more ‘Klingon’, if you will for lack of a better word. Ofcourse there are those like K’Ehleyr (Susie Plakson) or B’Elanna Torres (Roxanne Dawson) who look beautiful and infact are half human (K’Ehleyr has a human mother and Torres has a human father).
But the sexiest Klingon I have seen is the full Klingon, special agent Valkris, as shown here in her very small role in Star Trek III : The Search For Spock. She dies when Captain Kruge destroys the Merchantman vessel after Valkris had obtained Federation data regarding the Genesis project. Valkris, played by actress Cathie Shirriff, is a busty & exotic looking sexy dame of epic proportions and mystery. Definetly the hottest looking Star Trek character.
