Stargate Universe : Episode 19 “Incursion, Part 1 & 2”

As we start the episode we find out that Col. Young had a plan to get Col. Telford back from the brainwashing. The deprivation of oxygen releases the hold that the Lucian Alliance had on him. Young explains the situation to the crew. The gate room is sealed and all nearby corridors are put under guard. The civilians are told to stay in their quarters if and when the invasion occurs.

The Lucian alliance evacuates from their stronghold & enter the agate room of Destiny, watching by the crew. Over the intercom, Young informs the Alliance forces that they are surrounded and locked in, and that he can vent the atmosphere at any time. He demands they lower their weapons. Kiva has Telford confirm that Young can do this, then has her men open the doors using devices which override the locks. The Alliance forces move out from the gate room and begin their assault on the crew. In the ensuing fight, both sides take hostages, Eli & Chloe get separated from the rest of the crew.

Chloe gets a bullet in her leg and so relies on Eli to carry her part of the way. The two parties try to negotiate for exchange of hostages. Meanwhile Telford acts as a spy for the Destiny crew while trying to keep it away from Kiva and her team. The standoff between the Lucian Alliance and the Destiny Expedition continues, but a problem arises which threatens the safety of both groups as we start the continuation of Incursion and the final episode of season 1. TJ, a hostage, being a medic is made to tend to the wounded Lucian soldiers. The Lucian Alliance chose a poor time to dial in. The team shows him a sensor scan of a nearby binary pulsar: a rotating neutron star and a white dwarf orbiting a single point in space. It is emitting high levels of gamma radiation and x-rays. Furthermore, the white dwarf is stripping off material from the neutron star and creating an accretion disk, which it plows through during its orbit every 46 minutes, 37.4 seconds, creating an even greater radiation burst.

Meanwhile a Lucian agent Varro, shows that he is a decent man even if he is with the alliance and talks to TJ while she treats his wounds. The science team has devised a plan to protect the ship. The shields on the side of the ship facing the pulsar are severely depleted, but the shields on the opposite side are much stronger. By rotating power from one to the other, it will buy the time they need to fix the FTL drive. Without access to the primary systems, however, the emitters have to be reset manually on the outside of the hull. Scott and Greer prepare to go outside the ship. Telford is caught by Kiva as he helps the Destiny crew and they both shoot each other. Shooting in the infirmary wounds TJ, threatening the life of her unborn child. Young has to surrender to the Alliance to buy time for Scot & Greer; the soldiers and civilians are separated and put in rooms. Dannick who now assumes command, thinks he has to deal with the problem by executing all the military personnel.

As the episode and the season ends, we see a defiant Col. Young refusing to kneel down in front of Dannick and his men. What will happen to Scot & Greer? Will TJ & her baby survive? And Telford, Chloe & Eli? Stay tuned for season 2.

Notes For 22nd Oct, 2010

  • It’s been an ok week but I’m sad to say that it was almost a very bad Friday today due to a little in fighting. Glad that it good solved and sorted out.
  • I sat at the office along with another person and applied for jobs online. After I came home I also applied for 4 jobs in 4 different cities. I must say that I am really hoping to find a new job soon.
  • With my leave on Wednesday, I’m only working 4 days this week and only spent 9+11+10+10 hours on each of these four days. That’s the least that I have worked in a week for the past 3 months.
  • Trying to watch Metallica’s Some Kind Of Monster on my laptop.
  • I cannot believe that the dumb clients are blaming us for what they term as bad training modules – provided by them!
  • I ate duck curry (along with vellappam) this evening for dinner. You know what? I do not like duck, it’s too bony and you have to chew a lot and get so little meat in return. The gravy was very yummy though.

A Smaller Option For Work

If I get promoted to Manager grade (I’m currently Assistant Manager) or change profile to one that requires me to travel a bit, the company I work for may provide me with a laptop. Now earlier the laptops that were provided to the employees were HP, IBM or Dell 14in models. You know the kind – no frill, very workman like models for business use. But they were atleast 14 inch screens. Since mid of this year, I noticed that most of them senior employees have started carrying 12 or 10 inch screen laptops or netbooks.

Back in July when I visited Bangalore and stayed in one of the company guesthouses, my room mate who was a newly recruited manager from the Presales team, had received a brand new Samsung (I think it’s the N110 model) for work. Similarly all visiting dignitaries to our branch office seems to be carrying new Samsung netbooks, having traded in their much older Dells & HPs. The trend seems to be going in the smaller direction and for people who do travel around for work, it seems to be a good option. I work on a 17 in screen connected to a Thin Client and I really can’t imagine working on a netbook. I don’t mind using a 10 or 12 inc screen netbook as a backup only for traveling but using it as a primary work machine? Not sure.

How are the trends in companies that you guys work for, my dear readers?

Optimist or Pessimist?

I’ve often though this about myself. Am I an optimist or pessimist? I used to be a very passionate optimist often smiling in the face of adversity. Well…90% of the time. I do not think of myself in the same vein anymore. What happened? Well, I grew up and life hit me smack in the center of my forehead!

I wouldn’t call myself a total pessimist as that would not be fair. I think that pessimistically optimistic is more like it. Or a realist with a sour outlook on life but with an underlining cloud of hope in the horizon. And perpetually hoping that the think line of hope is not too distant and will come close very soon. That sounds more like it.

Arsenal 5 Shakhtar Donetsk 1

Arsenal closed in on a place in the Champions League knockout phase with a crushing victory over Shakhtar Donetsk to move clear at the top of Group H. Alex Song bundled the hosts ahead after an error by keeper Andriy Pyatov before Samir Nasri drilled home a second. Shakhtar’s Luiz Adriano was denied by Lukasz Fabianski before a fit-again Cesc Fabregas scored from the spot. Jack Wilshere clipped in and Marouane Chamakh poked a fifth, while ex-Arsenal striker Eduardo lashed a consolation.

Chamakh’s goal made him the first player to score in six consecutive Champions League matches, but the last word belonged to Eduardo – returning to the Emirates Stadium for the first time since his £6m move to Shakhtar last summer. The 27-year-old striker made a huge impression after joining the Gunners from Dinamo Zagreb in 2007, but his progress was stalled by a horrific leg injury suffered against Birmingham in 2008 and he never fully recaptured his early form. He received a huge ovation on arrival as a 63rd-minute substitute and after converting Jadson’s cross with a superb finish, the Croatian was again serenaded by an appreciative home crowd.

The result maintains Arsenal’s 100% start to the group and puts them on nine points, three clear of second-placed Shakhtar ahead of their meeting in Donetsk on 3 November.

Final Frontier – Iron Maiden

Final Frontier is the British heavy metal band Iron Maiden’s long awaited tribute to Star Trek! Lol, no. It’s the 15th studio album of original material y the juggernaut that is Iron Maiden. released on August 13, 2010 in Germany and Finland, August 17 in the United States, and August 16 worldwide. At 76 minutes and 34 seconds, it is the band’s longest studio album to date. It is their first album since the release of A Matter of Life and Death in 2006, the longest gap to date between two consecutive Iron Maiden studio albums.

At one point in time it seemed, mainly due to an interview with bassist & band leader Steve Harris, that this would be the legendary band’s final swansong. Harris stated in an interview that he had always imagined that Maiden would put out 15 albums. The titles of the album, tour, and opening track fuelled further rumours that this would be the band’s final album. However Harris has since stated that he hopes that there will be more albums.

Satellite 15 sounds like nothing that we have ever heard from Maiden before. It starts out with some electro noise before the drums start pounding. Nicko McBrain at his bombastic best. I swear that this guy is one of the top 10 best drummers of all time. The guitars start their wailing and the vocal melody sounds weird. It depicts the may day of a space traveler whose ship has gone of course and who is desperately trying hard to control it. However we soon segue into Final Frontier, a track with a great rhythm. This should be a crowd favourite soon. Lyrically it’s about the explorer coming to terms with his impending death and having no regrets. As his time approaches he relives his past glory and only wishes that he could say goodbye to his family one last time. El Dorado is a monster of a song, full on Maiden with no holds barred. The song is the band’s thirty-sixth single, and the first from the album. It addresses the greed & lust for money and power.

Mother Of Mercy is another one of what Maiden are famour for – an anti-war song. It tells us about the destruction of destruction and pleads to us to have mercy. Battlefields & it’s casualties are painted in a somber hue. Coming Home seems to be a homage to their native land of Britain and the feelings that one get when reaching back to one’s homeland. Compared to the rest of the album it is the ballad. We pick up the pace once again as The Alchemist gallops on – the story of John Dee & his “strange alchemy” with Edward Kelly. At a little over 9 minutes Isle Of Avalon starts of the longer section of the album. It starts off slow, building momentum as it struts along. It’s an epic track. Starblind follows a somewhat similar pattern, although it doesn’t simmer for as long. Religion an humanity is the main theme over here.

The Talisman is a great tale about the uncertainty that affects the life of a man traveling in a ship on the seas. Just as the rough part of the sea journey begins the man prays that he lives to tell the tale of his trip. Most Iron Maiden fans know of their lyrical inspiration from movies but I’m not sure if this one is one of them. The Man Who Would Be King is almost 8 and a half minutes long and features tandem guitar melodies. And with the final 11 minutes of this mammoth 76 min cd, we come to When The Wild Wind Blows – a wind of change, the coming of the end of life on the earth and the lyrical description of the catastrophe is mind-blowing and lucid. This is the kind of song that only Iron maiden can do and boy do they deliver. Stand back for the music video for the title track.

One Hot Sexy PC With Everything

For all my love for laptops/notebooks for the past couple of years, I’ve ignore desktops. I didn’t like the space it took and I didn’t like the wires. I didn’t like the fact that if I needed to move it places, I’d have to hire a car or atleast an autorickshaw. Laptops were it for me; with my only complaint that bigger & sleeker looking models and brands were very expensive and way beyond my budget. For instance, I wanted a 17 or 18 inch laptop but due to budget constraints, had to settle for a no frills looking (but very good) laptop with a 15.6 in monitor.

Now since I  like huge screens why not go for a desktop you say? Well if I had an option to buy one of these, the HP Pro All-in-One MS218 VT538AA business PC, then I so fucking would. Look the gorgeous sexy thing and I’m not just talking about Sam who is presenting it.

Recline On Me

Hey just in case you were wondering what you’d like to get me as a gift – look at that pic on the left side of this post. See the recliner in all it’s comfort glory sitting there? Well, that’s what I would like.

Joey & Chandler turned me onto the benefits of the recliner sofa chair and I so want an ultra-comfortable recliner (it’s got to be black) and place it in front of my tv, so I can lie back, put my feet up and relax.

I’d fancy one of those recliners that come with drinks holders or music stereos on sides of the headrest or mini-refrigerators build into the side. That would be awesome but even if it doesn’ have them it would be cool. I would play music on my laptop and relax in my chair.

So do you like the look of this recliner? When I see it, it seems to be saying to me “come here bad boy. Lay your body down on me, slip inside me and let everything else go”. That’s why I like this one so much.

Doh! You Can’t Be Serious

In one of the craziest news articles that I have ever read in the papers, the Vatican has just given their blessing to the Simpsons, in particular the very popular Homer, by declaring him to be catholic. I’m not kidding; this ridiculous information is also in the Indian Express and in online news sites too. What’s more, it says that parents should not be afraid to let their children watch “the adventures of the little guys in yellow.”

Reuters cited a study by a Jesuit priest of a 2005 episode of the show called “The Father, the Son and the Holy Guest Star”. That study concludes that “The Simpsons” is “among the few TV programs for kids in which Christian faith, religion and questions about God are recurrent themes.” The Simpsons pray before meals, and “in its own way, believes in the beyond,” the newspaper quoted the Jesuit study as saying. It’s the second time the animated U.S. TV series, which is broadcast in 90 countries, has been praised by the Vatican.

But executive producer Al Jean told Entertainment Weekly on Monday he was in “shock and awe” at the latest assertion, adding that the Simpsons attend the “Presbylutheran” First Church of Springfield. “We’ve pretty clearly shown that Homer is not Catholic,” Jean said. “I really don’t think he could go without eating meat on Fridays — for even an hour.”

To the vatican, I’d only show them this picture (from the movie along with the dialogue) below:

Destruction Of An Entire Species With A Thought

I just finished watching one of my favourite Star Trek: TNG stories. In the season 3 episode The Survivors, the Enterprise responds to the distress hail of the Federation colony of Delta Rana IV. Apparently they were under attack from an alien species that hadn’t yet had any contact with the Federation. As the crew reaches the planet, they find a planet totally destroyed and a devastated landscape – with the exception of a few acres and a house that still stands. Lt. Worf scans the surface and finds two humans, elderly botonists in their 80s, Kevin and Rishan Oxbridge.

While Rishan is welcoming, her husband is aloof and seems suspicious of the Starfleet officers who make up the away team. They accept the offer of a replicator but refuse to take refuge on the Enterprise much to the surprise of the crew. Meanwhile a piece of repetitive music plays in the mind of Counselor Troi, blocking her telepathic abilities and stressing her to point of a breakdown. An alien warship appears and attacks the Enterprise twice; the first time it’s weapons seem well below the capabilities of the Enterprise and the second time it is more deadly. This surprises the crew an Captain Picard urges the Oxbridges to return to a starbase along with his ship. Rishan & Kevin stand by their decision to stay back. They say that the aliens, known as the Husnock, attacked the colony and they alone did not fight back while the rest of the colonists did. Perhaps that is the reason for them being left alone.

Picard is not convinced and says that the Enterprise will remain in orbit as long as the elderly couple are alive. Moments later the alien vessel attacks the planet and destroys the Oxbridge’s house and the Enterprise senses no life signs. However, as Picard had expected, within an hour or so, with the Enterprise pretending to leave orbit, the house mysteriously appears back in the same pristine condition as before. The couple have also appeared  back, alive and well. Picard has the two of them beamed onto the bridge and demands the truth.

Kevin Uxbridge makes a startling confession – he is in fact a Douwd, an immortal being with vast powers. He met his Human wife many years before and decided to live as a Human with her. She joined the colonists in fighting the alien Husnock raiders and was killed. Though a devout pacifist, in a moment of anger towards the invaders for taking his wife’s life, he annihilated the entire Husnock race. Stunned at his “sin”, Kevin recreated Rishon and their house, and sentenced himself to exile on the ruined Delta Rana IV. He used the fake warship as a ruse to try and keep the Enterprise from finding out the truth. The music in Troi’s mind is also his creation; her empathic powers were also threatening to reveal the truth.

Picard confesses that the Federation is not qualified to be his judge in the matter, and allows him to return to the planet. He states that there is no punishment that can fit his crime. As the Enterprise departs, Picard indicates that the Douwd should be “left alone”.

RIP Simon MacCorkindale

I just found out that veteran British actor Simon MacCorkindale had passed away 3 days ago. He died at the age of 58 after a long struggle with cancer.

MacCorkindale was famous in the 1980s for his title role in the short-lived tv series Manimal. He played Dr. Johnathan Chase, a shape-shifting man who could take on the form of any animal (thus Manimal) and used his powers to solve police crimes. The series was canceled after only 8 episodes but it attained cult status.

After a career in theatre, in the late 1970s and early 1980s, MacCorkindale starred in a variety of films and serials, including Quatermass (1979), Death on the Nile (1978),The Riddle of the Sands (1979), The Sword and the Sorcerer (1982) and Jaws 3-D (1983 ). I remember that back in the early 1990s, my cousin and I went to watch The Sword and the Sorcerer which was being shown on the small theatre Little Shenoys. I remember that he recognized the actor from the series. He also had a long tenure in the popular soap opera Falcon Crest and spent six years on the British medical drama Casualty.

The actor died Thursday night surrounded by his family in a private Harley Street clinic. He had been diagnosed with bowel cancer four years ago, and it spread to his liver. His wife, the actress Susan George was with him at the time of his death.

Iron Maiden : Flight 666

This is the ultimate concert touring documentary on the ultimate heavy metal band by the ultimate creators of rock band documentaries. Iron Maiden : Flight 666 is an awesome look at what an Iron Maiden tour looks like. In 2008 Iron Maiden put on their Somewhere Back In Time Tour. The band invited filmmakers Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn to film not only what transpired on stage, but also behind the scenes. The film follows the band on the first leg of the tour between February and March 2008.

McFayden & Dunn join the band & the huge crew of about 70 people, 12 ton of stacks & stacks of equipment on a customized 757 jet plane, named Ed Force One and with a huge Eddie picture painted on the tail fin. What’s amazing is that singer Bruce Dickinson pilots the plane for most of the journey across countries. They visit 21 cities, playing 23 shows in 45 days. The Tour Stops: Mumbai/Perth/Melbourne [2 shows]/Sydney [2 shows]/Brisbane/Yokohama/Tokyo/Los Angeles/Guadalajara/Monterrey/Mexico City/San Jose (Costa Rica)/Bogota/Sao Paolo/Curitiba/Porto Allegre/Buenos Aires/Santiago/San Juan/East Rutherford, NJ/Toronto.

The dvd starts off with the Winston Churchill speech segment that leads off into Aces High played live in Mumbai, India. After rocking the Indian commercial capital off their blocks, Maiden storm into Australia for their first visit since 1992! Really? India has been visited 2 times in that time but Australia gets none in 16 years? Fancy that! Anyway Sydney & Melbourne are the two cities down under that get to enjoy a Maiden show not once but twice each. Perth & Brisbane also get a show each. While in Australia, we get a look at how the band members spend some time off – the private Adrian Smith goes to play tennis with Pat Cash while Dave Murray & Nicko McBrain play golf! It seems that Jannick Gers looks out for Irish pubs where ever he can and Steve Harris is always up for a game of football. But Bruce doing double duties as singer & pilot has less free time on his hands. From Australia it’s onto Japan and hearing from fans in Yokohama & Tokyo. Post that it’s a trip to Los Angeles, where amongst others who have come to see the band play, we see Chris Jericho, Kerry King, Lars Ulrich & Tom Morello.

Going to Central & South America the audiences get more intense. South Americans have long been into metal and Iron Maiden is a particular favourite. They concerts they play in these countries have larger audiences and who sing along with every lyric. It was great to see Maiden in Chile – a country where they were once banned for being termed as ‘satanic’. The feeling of euphoria on starting the show in Santiago must have been shared by the band members & fans alike. It was also awesome to see the Argentine audience singing louder than Bruce for the ‘ohhhhh’ in the song Fear Of The Dark. Post the South American cities, they return to New Jersey and then the final show in the hometown of the joint producers/directors – Toronto, Canada.

We see the band explore a pyramid in Mexico, we see back stage antics by the funny crew – including a bunch of them doing the lyrics for Run To The Hills chorus in sign language! Also it’s funny to know that Iron Maiden, as awesome Metal giants as they are, can also be brought down to weak white men who fall ill due to spicy Indian food or food poisoning! I LOLed at that!. Great dvd and long live Maiden!

Arsenal 2 Bimingham 1

Arsenal came from behind to beat 2-1 Birmingham City and go second in the table but the victory was tarnished by a late red card for teenager Jack Wilshere. The visitors went ahead against the run of play when striker Nikola Zigic headed home Keith Fahey’s cross. Samir Nasri levelled from the spot after a foul on Marouane Chamakh before Chamakh rounded Ben Foster to put Arsenal ahead early in the second half. Wilshere, 18, was given his marching orders for an ugly lunge on Zigic.

The England midfielder’s studs were showing as he went over the ball and took out the Serbian striker’s standing leg. And ironically, the Gunners’ third red card of the season came after boss Arsene Wenger used his programme notes to call for managers and referees to get together in an attempt to clarify the rules over bad tackles. Wilshere’s indiscretion aside, it was an efficient comeback from Arsenal who, after defeats in their previous two games and with a trip to Manchester City looming next weekend, simply could not afford to drop points. And Wenger will be delighted to have seen Chamakh continue his impressive start to life in English football with two decisive moments. What will frustrate their fans is however the fact that Arsenal can run rings around their opponents, create breath-taking chances but fail at the final kick.

Arsenal also had a goal disallowed for offside. Stephen Carr was given a yellow card for an over-the-ball tackle on Chamakh and from the resulting free-kick, Sebastien Squillaci headed the ball into the net, only to be denied for a narrow offside.

Good Food & Drinks This Afternoon

It had been 2 weeks since I went out for drinks and food. Last weekend I had opted to have a very quite two days in, ordering in pizza on Sunday afternoon. Although that was pleasant enough, watching videos from my bed, today was a beautiful day and it’s always good to try to take advantage of some sunshine after the last few days of pouring rain. My cousin Sujith wanted to go out as well as he was bored sitting alone at home. So this morning when he asked if I wanted to go out for some grub I said that I would join him.

Morning coffee, shower & shampoo done I got ready to head out. I went to the ATM near my apartment and once stocked up with some cash, I took an auto to Convent Junction. Both Sujith & I really wanted to check out Fort Cafe and finally I got the directions to the mall that houses this cafe. I told Sujith that I would wait for him while he traveled all the way from Thriupunithura. While waiting on the dirty & broken road side, I snapped this photo. I think it looks cool like the surface of an alien road. Sadly it’s the state of the road leading from Convent Junction towards Fort Cafe.

I had to wait for about 25 minutes but was surprised to suddenly see my cousin Shalini come out of the same building. She was shopping there and was equally surprised to see me. I hadn’t seen her in a little over a year and a half. While we stood there chatting Sujith joined us and I introduced the two to each other. You see, Shalini is my first cousin, my mom’s brother’s daughter, and I’ve seen her for most of her life. My old house was two houses away from hers in Thrikkakara. Sujith is a second cousin who I got to know online from around 2007 and only met face to face January of this year. And he hadn’t met Shalini or most of my other 1st cousins yet. Anyways, she had to leave and so off she went and Sujith & I went into the building and found Fort Cafe.

Fort Cafe looks a lot bigger in the Cochin communities blog photos that I had first seen a couple of month’s back. It wasn’t that big and I’m sure that their customer’s will find it difficult to get a table there. The decor is great and the tables/chairs are fantastic and the counter/coffee bar area looks great. We were lucky to get a table that was just being cleared as the people sitting there just got up to leave. Lots of chicks sitting around post shopping ad yakking their heads off. We both ordered beef cheese burgers and butterscotch flavoured cold coffees. After a reasonable amount of time, the waiter brought out our tall glasses of the frothy coffee and a couple of minutes later the burgers arrived, beautifully decorated with fried potato chip wedges and some coleslaw and tomato slices.

The burgers looked awesome, although a bit small to be big enough for a full meal. But they tasted fantastic; you could get the real taste of meat (unlike the generic minced stuff that the other places serve I could actually get a beef taste & texture) and it was great. So full marks for the decors, furniture, food & coffee Fort Cafe. We will come in often. We sat back and chatted as we sipped the coffee and the burgers went in quite quickly. Oh I do have one complaint about the place, albeit a minor one. A bunch of people came in and ordered sizzler steaks – the smoke that came out while they were being server made the rest of us cough and the staff had to open the doors to let the smoke out. Also as soon as the doors open we would get a blast of hot air from outside – made it difficult to sit neat the entrance.

Well that done, we paid our bills and went to check out a small shop that sold dvds & music cds. Nothing special but I did buy a copy of the Sci-fi movie Splice. After that we moved on to Velocity for some beer. We had a Foster’s beer each and then since those were the last ones they had of that brand, we moved on to Kingfisher Gold Premiums. We had some fish & squid over there and enjoyed the late afternoon in the bar. It was after 5pm when we left the bar and headed back to our respective home.

For me it was a snooze and then watching Arsenal host Birmingham City at the Emirates.

Every Inch Was Still Sacred Ground

It’s been raining cats and dogs for almost 48 hours with some breaks in between. Last night we had thunder and lightning at around 11:30 pm and so I switched off the laptop and unplugged all the wires & cables. I then settled back on the bed with a novel and thought that I’d wait for the lightning to abate. I must have fallen asleep in an hour or so, with all the lights on.

At around 3:30 pm I was rudely jolted away by the sound of my cell phone ringing. Shocked awake, I picked up my phone and noticed the time. Looking at the caller id display on my cell confused me for a second – the call was coming from +401! Oh caller id hidden; is it possible that this is an overseas call? Is someone calling me from abroad and they got the timings confused? I answered the call – it was some idiot in Malapurram. Actually it sounded like it was a bunch of idiots as I could here giggling in the background. The moron who called me asked me some stupid question twice. I answered in the best way possible. I swore at him with as many filthy words as could be possibly used in under 60 seconds and then cut the call. Moron.

Try as I might, I couldn’t get back to sleep at all. It was such a rude, inconsiderate thing to do so I had no qualms about abusing the jerk off the way I did. I tossed and turned under the sheets for an hour and then gave up. I thought that I would get up and watch something. Flight 666 was something that I had recently downloaded and so I watched that – Iron Maiden at 4:30 am! Wow! I loved the documentary on the British metal giants and was energized as hell. By the time the video was done, it was almost 7 am and so I went to brush my teeth.

I did another 11 hour shift at work today & I left the office a little after 9pm. The cab I was in dropped off a girl who stayed in a house quite near our office and then a boy who stayed in a rented house near CUSAT. On the way to my area, we passed by Thrikkakara, my old hometown. I wasn’t expecting to pass by that area at all and was pleasantly surprised and happy to see my old stomping grounds. We also passed my former family house and seeing it left a lump in my throat. I was happy and sad at the same time, nostalgia running wild in my heart. Tears filled my eyes a bit as I noticed all the old familiar landmarks, shops, buildings and houses (I lived there for 19 years). As we made our way to the main road at Edapally, that feeling that this place will always be my hometown rang true through my mind. The lyrics of a song played in my heart..

This used to be our town
There wasn’t a back road we hadn’t been down
This used to be our town
Every inch is still sacred ground
Now I’m driving these streets and her sweet memory
still makes my heart pound
This used to be our town

If I Could Invent Anything

I hate to be a judge of other people, but there are some asshole who were born on this earth to create chaos and problems for the rest of us. I wish I could invent something that can rub off these bastards very existence in this world. Like ‘poof’ – them assholes will never bother you ever again. You won’t ever have to get a earful of their crap talk and never have to stifle a yawn when they drone on & on.

Their sole purpose in life is to make others miserable and also interfere in everything that you do. These type of people are what I call an oxymoron – they are oxes as well as morons. There are these few people in the work area mostly who I cannot stand, hypocrites and bastards to the core. They are so pompous, arrogant and full of bullshit! Malicious in their intent and their overall attitude. Fuck them!
