Do you believe in fate or do you believe you can control your own destiny?

I don’t believe in fate. I mean it seems so depressing if everything is set out for you. I believe that you can make your own destiny and your future if you try hard enough, get the right help and have some luck along the way. Crush the fates, you can do it on your own.

Having said that, circumstances can ruin the best laid plans. You have choices that you made in your life that may affect you throughout the lifespan and it can hinder things that you wanted to get done. Sometimes there is no escaping them. But some really successful people have come through a ton of hardships and thrived. They did better than you or me and we read about them.

So why can’t we do it? I dunno perhaps we aren’t made up of the sterner stuff. We just don’t have the skills or the will power or the desire to achieve what we set out to do. If we can get over that we can control our own destiny.
