Pizza – The Greatest Gift That Italy Gave The Rest Of The World

If you could eat one food for a whole month (health concerns aside! lol), what would you pick?
Pizza! Pizza is my favourite food, the best gift that Italy has given mankind. It is the best thing ever and it can cure your ails and the blues. Breakfast, brunch, dinner, tea, three o’clock in the morning – pizza is perfect. Pizza will wait for you. Pizza is your best friend. Fear not because in the morning it will still be there, and it’ll taste as good as it did the previous night. There are few better words than “the pizzas are on their way”. Pizza tops the list of the most popular foods in the world. Every year, people consume around 5 billion pizzas.

Pizza is popular due to its simplicity of preparation. If there is any other food easier to prepare and healthy, pizza tops that list. Pizza is made with some fresh vegetables that make it helpful, especially to vegetarians.

Pizza is also a popular meal following different ways of customizing it. One common thing with several pizza outlets is that the meal is prepared according to customer specifications. This eliminates any possibility of inclusions of the ingredient that may not match the customer’s dietary requirement. Pizza is also customized to fit customers’ tastes depending on their cultural and religious beliefs. The fact that pizza can be customized to match individuals’ needs makes it attractive to most people. When you are out in your favorite food joint, chances are you will get pizza in different choices that will ultimately leave you wanting to eat more.

Pizza will always be delicious, either hot or cold. You can go ahead and change these options to fit your taste and preference and still make a kill. What would be my perfect pizza? Ok, let’s give it a try – I want a tomato sauce based one and a white sauce or Alfredo sauce one. On the tomato sauce one – I want Pepperoni, mushrooms, Italian sausages and green peppers. On the Alfredo sauced one – I want grilled chicken, bacon, jalapenos, bell peppers and caramalized onions.

The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics Medals Design

The 2022 Winter Games medals are called “Tong Xin,” meaning “together as one.” For the design, Chinese organizers said they pulled from their country’s tradition and culture to influence the look of the medals. Since Beijing is a two-time Olympic host city, organizers said they wanted to include a nod to the 2008 Summer Games in the design. Lin Cunzhen, the director of arts for the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee, said organizers pulled from similar design choices used in 2008.

“We used jade into the design of the medals, which is in line with the 2008 Olympic medals. It’s a reflection of Beijing being a two-time Olympic city,” she said. The use of jade, a precious stone, has its roots in ancient Chinese history, Lin told reporters. The medals feature five rings, and the carved designs around their perimeters are based on traditional Chinese calligraphy. “XXIV Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022” is also engraved on the back along with its Chinese translation.

Five Weird Laws In Manitoba (Mostly Just Winnipeg)

1. The first and most obvious error is Winnipeg’s ban on pit bull ownership. Pit bull bans are common across North America, and there’s a surprising amount of public support for the practice. With bans in effect in Winnipeg and the entire province of Ontario, there’s serious advocacy for nationwide provincial bans of pit bulls. Winnipeggers are still prohibited from keeping chickens. It’s a law that, again, stems from a misconception based in irresponsible ownership: that chickens are smelly and loud. Among the dozens of other pointless pet bans are the ban on domestic pigs, which falls under the ban of “all even-toed ungulates
other than domestic sheep.”

2. The 1983 Sidewalk Cleaning By-law (No. 3422/83) of Winnipeg stipulates that city sidewalks will be cleared of snow (and other debris) free of charge by the city, that is, unless you live on a two block stretch of Osborne Street (between River Avenue and Stradbrooke Avenue). Property owners of this little area must remove snow or debris from sidewalks adjacent to their property in a timely manner or face a fine of up to $150. As to why this neighborhood was singled out, no one can really say

3. Like most cities, Winnipeg has a list of animals that are prohibited to be kept as pets within city limits. Section 33 of the The Responsible Pet Ownership By-law specifically bans the personal possession of all “even-toed ungulates”, except for domestic sheep. So, if you’re moving to Winnipeg, you can bring your pet sheep Dolly, but the ban on domestic pigs, which falls under the ban of “all even-toed ungulates, means Babe will have to go somewhere else.

4. Lastly, the city of Winnipeg in their has taken specific measures to halt any and all impromptu live performances on public transit. By-law 89/2014 stipulates that anyone caught humming or singing without prior written consent from the Transit Director may be charged with a fine of up to $100.

5. The freedom to peacefully assemble is a fundamental right of all Canadians. Section Two of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms outlines it as a fundamental freedom of all Canadians, along with freedom of religion, expression and association. But one of Winnipeg’s dumbest bylaws serves as a tool to circumvent this most basic of Canadian freedoms. The bylaw in question is the “City of Winnipeg Traffic By-Law No.1573/77”. Among a myriad other regulations, sections 9 through 11 of the bylaw explain that any Winnipegger holding or taking part in a parade must first receive a permit from the Chief of Police. The bylaw defines a “parade” as “any procession or body of pedestrians excepting members of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, numbering more than thirty (30) standing, marching, or walking anywhere on a street.”

RIP Lata Mangeshkar The Nightingale Of India

Indian singer and music composer Lata Mangeshkar has died at the age of 92. She was widely considered as one of the greatest and most influential singers in India. Her contribution to Indian music industry in a career spanning seven decades has gained her honorific titles such as the Nightingale of India and Queen of Melody. Ms Mangeshkar was taken to the intensive care unit on Tuesday after testing positive for COVID-19. Lata Mangeshkar, a recipient of the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Awards, was an icon of Indian cinema, having sung playback for an extensive list of Hindi films; she also sang in several regional languages including Marathi and Bengali. Ms Mangeshkar, who belonged to a prominent musical family, also composed music as well as produced a handful of films.

Lata Mangeshkar, born in 1929, was the eldest of five siblings, among them singer Asha Bhonsle who visited Mangeshkar in hospital after she was taken to ICU. Their father was classical musician Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar, who gave the young Lata Mangeshkar her first music lesson. In 1942, when her father died, 13-year-old Lata Mangeshkar began her career in music, juggling singing with acting parts in Marathi films. Among Lata Mangeshkar’s most iconic songs is the patriotic composition Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo; the song, commemorating Indian soldiers who died in the 1962 war with China, was performed on Republic Day in 1963 at the National Stadium in New Delhi. Lata Mangeshkar sang it live in the presence of President S Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

Having worked with composers as disparate as Anil Biswas, Shankar Jaikishan, Naushad Ali, S.D. Burman, C. Ramchandra, Hemant Kumar, Salil Chowdhury, Khayyam, Ravi, Sajjad Hussain, Roshan, Kalyanji-Anandji, Madan Mohan, and Usha Khanna over the next several years, Mangeshkar has the unique distinction of singing for around seven different generations of female actors (Madhubala and Nimmi in the 1940s, Meena Kumari , Nargis and Nutan in the 50s, Waheeda Rehman, Asha Parekh and Sharmila Tagore in the 60s, Mumtaz, Hema Malini , Jaya Bhaduri and Zeenat Aman in the 70s, Sridevi and Rekha in the 80s, Juhi Chawla, Karisma Kapoor and Manisha Koirala in the 90s and Preity Zinta and Kareena Kapoor in the 2000s).

Mangeshkar, who remained unmarried, is survived by a large family, including her siblings and their children and a legion of fans across the world who would today swear by the words that poet and music director Naushad had once written for the singer, “The very heart of India throbs in your voice.” Among her exhaustive charitable work is a hospital in her father’s name in Pune called Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital and Research Centre.

Tell Us About A Crush You Had In School

I think it is safe to say that I was 13 and the first real crush I had was on this girl who was a class above me and 2years older. I mean I’ve had my celebrity crushes and all that (some of them still to this day) and one long lasting on teacher but the first time I had a real crush on a girl near my age was in 1989 for this girl called Sophia. Or did she spell it as Sofia. I am not sure. What I am sure of is that I had it bad for her.

She was tall and fair and had thick curly hair which I loved. She was hot too! She was a bit of the silent type so I had difficulty in getting to know her. And ofcourse I was kinda shy and not really confident in my ability or lack thereof to win the heart of a girl like her. I think at one point of time I did tell her how I felt but she didn’t feel the same way. But that didn’t stop me from being friends with her. Eventually in a year or so I got over my little crush on her.

The only time I have seen her since then was when I was 19 and I was sitting near a bus stop with a friend. As a bus pulled up I saw her sitting at a window seat and called out. She must have recognized me (it has only been 5 years since we last met) and smiled a wave back. Since then I haven’t seen her but I think once from afar I saw a woman who looked liker her. If I met her now I would say hi and catch up and then move on. She’s just another memory in a long line of memories. I am curious though to see how she is but it wouldn’t go beyond a casual curiosity.

National Grapefruit Month : Benefits Of Eating Grapefruit

It’s National Grapefruit month. Share the benefits of grapefruit.

The grapefruit  is a subtropical citrus tree known for its relatively large, sour to semi-sweet, somewhat  bitter fruit. The interior flesh is segmented and varies in color from pale yellow to dark pink. Grapefruit is a citrus hybrid originating in Barbados it is an accidental cross between the sweet orange and the pomelo or shaddock, both of which were introduced from Asia in the 17th century. When found, it was called the forbidden fruit. In 2019, world production of grapefruits (combined with pomelos) was 9.3 million tonnes, of which 53% was in China. Other significant producers include Vietnam, United States and Mexico.

Top 5 health benefits of grapefruit

1. Rich in antioxidants : Grapefruit provides a number of beneficial and protective nutrients and plant compounds which have antioxidant properties. This means they help protect cells from the potential damage caused by unstable molecules called free radicals. In particular, they’re a good source of beta-carotene, which is converted in the body to vitamin A, and is thought to reduce the risk of chronic conditions including macular degeneration. Grapefruit is also a useful source of lycopene, which is associated with a reduced risk of cancer.

2. May support heart health : In 2012, the American Heart Association published a report that suggested that a diet high in certain flavonoids, compounds found in citrus fruits including grapefruit, may lower a woman’s risk of stroke. However, more research is needed to understand exactly why this is. Grapefruit is rich in potassium and fibre, as well as protective antioxidants which may help manage blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Human studies have demonstrated the beneficial role grapefruit, and specifically red grapefruit, may play in helping to improve cholesterol levels, particularly in those suffering with atherosclerosis.

3. May help with weight loss : While low in calories and high in fibre, eating grapefruit is unlikely to deliver the dramatic weight loss touted in some fad diets; however, there is some evidence to suggest that consuming grapefruit may be of some assistance. A 12-week Japanese study looked at the effects of grapefruit versus a placebo, and there was a significant reduction in weight, as well as blood glucose levels, in those participants who consumed half a grapefruit before meals.

4. May aid blood sugar management : Animal studies have examined the beneficial role grapefruit juice may play in reducing blood glucose levels and improving insulin resistance. This is further supported by a higher fruit and green vegetable intake being associated with a significantly reduced risk of type 2 diabetes.

5. May promote better brain function : There is some promising research into the role of flavonoids in the diet and improvements in memory and cognition, as well as the prevention of neurodegenerative conditions. However, it is too early to say whether grapefruit, in particular, has a significant impact on brain health.

Check into somewhere swank, change into a plush bathrobe and don’t forget to order up some room service. Whether you luxuriate with a partner, your BFF or fly solo, definitely don’t forget breakfast in bed the next morning.

Keep it streamlined and simple. You want to make sure your blog is easy to navigate so people can find what they are looking for, subscribe, follow, and stick around. If it is easy to navigate then your readers will want to stick around and read more content, thus creating a loyal reader. Creating categories on your sidebar is a good example of making it easy to navigate.

When someone lands on your blog the theme and layout is what they first see and that’s their first impression of what your blog is about. Even if you have the best written articles in the whole world it simply won’t matter if your blog design is clunky and hard to read. A beautiful design is great, but remember you can find this for the right price. My theme is simple yet elegant, predominantly white with sparks of colour here and there. I use biscuit-lite by but you can easily find some beautiful themes out there.

I think this is a given for any website and that ofcourse includes blogs. Make it easy for me to find what I’m looking for on your blog! Chances are, if I’m reading something on your blog I might want to read something else. So make your search function easy to find.

You want your readers and followers to connect with you on other social medial platforms. Facebook might be a bit too personal but you can create a page or account just for your blog. Do not forget to add something as simple as your Instagram link and display it on your sidebar or the header/footer. If you have quite a few links than create a separate block or page just for that. Just so people have every option to follow you.

It is very important to create a way for people to contact you. A contact us page is essential for an agency or business who are new to your blog and while perusing around they suddenly have a great, paid collaboration idea for you. But wait! There’s no way to contact you. This can lead to many missed opportunities. It doesn’t need to be fancy. Just a simple way to email you works fine. I recommend having a contact page – I use – WPForms Lite connected to my Gmail account so I receive each submission as an email and if I choose to reply to them, then my email takes over.

What if you reader enjoys your post or feels that your post is really important and has relevant information and wants to share it with their followers? They go to share but there are no share buttons! That is an opportunity missed! We want to make it as simple and easy as possible for people to share our stuff. I use the Simple Social Buttons plugins free options which I think is one of the best.

This one is a given and I find it silly mentioning it here but…..Set up your comment system so that the majority of your readers can comment. A great option? Disqus. or Brian’s Threaded Comments. This is a simple, easy to use tool that allows comments and also helps you avoid spam.

And if your readers wants to know more about you? An About Me Page is a very essential part of your blog. Infact whenever I visit a new blog and enjoy a couple of the posts, then next thing I look for is to find out more about the blogger(s). If that is not available I am left wanting as will your readers. Create a page with information about, a photo or two and anything else you’d like to share.

Possibly Purchase/Wishlist Item: 23 Stories In The Adventures Of Tintin Series

I am not planning on spending much money other than on food, some snacks, medicine and the essentials like toiletries this month. Most of what I used to make online via sponsored posts have dried up and what I do make I add to my monthly bills. And I am keeping the rest for anything that may cross up from time to time like the handkerchief set that bought, the kitchen towels, the mosquito repellents and stuff. These aren’t things I buy that often so it’s mostly once in a while.

I do want to buy a shirt or two and I might. There is also a need to buy a replacement body trimmer since the one that I had stopped getting charged several months ago. And I need to trim the bushes, so to speak. So I am not planning on spending that much this month and even I balance things out I can get 2 shirts and get the trimmer. But if I had a little extra cash the thing that I would buy would be this set that you see over here. It costs Rs. 6,619.00 and is the boxset of all 23 stories in The Adventures of Tintin series that Herge released. The hours and hours of enjoyment that I had as a kid is priceless when it comes to Tintin. The Adventures of Tintin has always been one of my favourite childhood comics. A few of my cousins & I being engrossed in reading and discussing the series is definitely a treasured childhood memory.

Even though I have PDF scanned copies of all the books, it would have nice to have the entire set in book format. The main cast of the comic book series is as follows: Captain Haddock, Tintin, Snowy the dog, Professor Cuthbert Calculus and the mumbling police detectives Thomson & Thompson. Pictured & certainly an essential supporting cast of the series includes Nestor, Captain Haddock’s butler, famed opera singer Bianca Castafiore & her maid Irma. Incidentally, although they are remarkably alike in appearance and mannerisms, the detectives are not actually twins or even brothers! Which explains why they are called Thompson & Thomson (Thompson with a ‘P’ & Thomson without a ‘P’). They are always a hoot and manage to get themselves in trouble a lot.

5 Childhood Memories That I Am Grateful For

What are 5 childhood memories that you’re grateful for?

  • I have mentioned this one before and it is a beloved memory. Though I’d love for all my relatives to sit together at a large table or several tables and have the best foods and drink and have a great time, the ones that really stand out from my childhood is when we were in Kuwait. Usually in my family’s apartment but occasionally at my uncle’s, we would sit together in front of the tv watching a good movie or tv show and eat family style, either shawarma, fallafils, kuboos and hummus or KFC bucket chicken. I can almost see us – little me with my sis, dad, mom, mom’s brother my uncle and his wife as well as my cousin sister – sitting on the sofas or on the floor and enjoying the meal.
  • I had to check with my sister about this but I remember going a few times to a big supermarket, grocery store and retail goods. I am not sure but I think we only went there a few times during our time there. I distinctly remember a couple of trips with my uncle & aunt and a few times just my dad, mom, sis & me in a taxi (since we didn’t have a car). I especially loved buying comics and kids books from their large book store, music cassettes, toys from their extensive collection (second only to Toys R US) and chocolates. I loved that place and every visit was an awesome experience.
  • My dad once took me to the revolving restaurant at the Kuwait towers. I don’t remember what we went there for; if memory serves me correctly he went to meet with a colleague or someone from the same banking sector that he worked for and since it was a casual meet for a long lunch, he took me along. My sister was in India at the time and hence she didn’t join us. It was a wonderful experience and I got to sit at the window seat.
  • Going to Entertainment city for the very first time. Entertainment City is a theme park in Kuwait and since we lived there until 1987, the year I turned 11, one of our highlights was going to the place and having fun on bumper cars, rollercoaster rides, log rides, etc etc. They also had tie ups with major fast food chains like McDonalds, KFC and others in their food court so if you want to rest and feeling hungry, then you can eat and drink and relax in between. I think we’ve been there only twice but they were a lot of fun.
  • Back in India, going on a few trips with my cousins, hanging out with them and playing games, listening to music all day long and watching movies that we all pick and want to watch as a group – those were some of the best summer holidays (and Onam & Christmas too) memories I can ever think of. They were the best moments of our lives.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Joins Barcelona On A Free Transfer

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has signed for Barcelona on a free transfer from Arsenal. Arsenal became willing to allow the 32-year-old to leave after stripping him of the captaincy in December following a disciplinary issue. The 32-year-old did not play for the club after December 6, and was left out of their squad for their warm-weather training camp in Dubai. Aubameyang, who scored 92 goals in 163 games for the Gunners, leaves the Emirates Stadium inside the final 18 months of a contract worth ÂŁ350,000 a week. The Premier League club are estimated to be making a saving of around ÂŁ25m in wages with Aubameyang’s departure.

But his exit means Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta’s will finish the season with just two recognised strikers in his squad, with both Eddie Nketiah and Alex Lacazette out of contract in the summer. The deal had looked off earlier on Deadline Day after talks broke down over the financial part of the deal. He had also been linked with a switch to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr. Aubameyang was sent home early from the Africa Cup of Nations in January because of ongoing health issues. The forward missed Gabon’s draw with Ghana after scans revealed “heart lesions” following a bout of Covid, although later scans gave him the all-clear.

Aubameyang got a private jet to take him to Barcelona and the Spanish club had booked a medical for him because it looked like the move was going to happen. It wasn’t related to Ousmane Dembele’s departure from the Nou Camp, but if the French forward had gone, Barca would have been able to pay larger wages. Then, at 6pm, it looked like the move was not going to happen and the financial differences between the two clubs were too big. This whole affair has been relayed to us almost minute-by-minute by the Barca president Joan Laporta, who is at a Mundo Deportivo awards event. Laporta is in the business of giving hope to the fans and has been describing the situation as it unfolds.

It looked like the transfer wasn’t going to happen because the difference in what Barca could afford in wages and the percentage of Aubameyang’s wages, that Arsenal were prepared to pay, was too great. Barcelona had 2m euros (ÂŁ1.6m) in wages to pay and Aubameyang was happy to accept any payment In the end. Then Arsenal accepted a free transfer. That means the Gabon forward may just get 2m euros this season – rather than the circa 9m euros (ÂŁ7.5m) he was due at Arsenal – and more later. But it is understood that Aubameyang, who flew out to Barcelona on Monday morning, took a significant pay cut to facilitate the move.
