Unai Emery is adamant that his new club sign his former player Ever Banega, yet today it is reported that Sevilla will do everything in their power to hold on to midfielder Ever Banega amid interest from Arsenal, insisting that he is “not for sale” and doubling down on their ability to talk the player into staying. The Argentina midfielder is considering his options this summer after some behind-the-scenes changes at the club and has an achievable release clause understood to be in the region of €20m (£17.6m) this summer.

However, his agent Branislav Jasurek rubbished those reports, while simultaneously confirming that Torreira will be an Arsenal player next term. “Arsenal have bought Torreira to play six, so I do not think it’s going to happen,” he told La Voz de Galicia. “We only had a few words about feelings about the club, about what we think about Stanko’s future, but nothing in particular.”
