Logitech issues a variety of work-oriented keyboards to suit almost all work profiles ranging from the compact MX Keys Mini for tight setups to the expansively large K780 for static desktop layouts. Although I just bought a mechanical keyboard and it works like a charm and I love it, I also thought that I would get a flat key or chicklet style keyboard as well so I have the best of both world. And the one that I chose is the one that I have been eyeing for a long time, ever since the thought of getting an external keyboard crossed my mind towards September of last year. The Logitech style of keyboards for their K470, K580 etc was the style that I liked.
Logitech K580 – Conceptually speaking, the Logitech K580 is a multi platform wireless keyboard that connects via Bluetooth connectivity or via Logitech’s Unifying receiver wireless USB-A dongle. On paper, it has compatibility not only with Windows laptops and Android phones but iPhones and MacOS laptops too. The Logitech K580 wireless keyboard is a different beast altogether with its unique design that makes it perfect for mobile workers on the go who work off a smartphone or who need ultralight setups. Inclusive of the two AA batteries that power it, the K580 only weighs a total of 558 grams; about the weight of a can and a half of Sprite or Coke.

- Works with your OS – Use your favourite keyboard commands across multiple devices and platforms including Windows, Mac, iOS and Android.
Available colours for the keyboard consist of either a shade of pinkish rose with white trim, a dark greyish shade of graphite with light grey trim and a shade of Off-White which consists of a shade of matte white alternated with grey trim. As you can see the choice for me was between the dark greyish one – which I almost chose and the off white one. In the end I went with the off-white one because I was planning to get a pre-dominantly red desk mat to use on the keyboard tray, and I thought that it would look great with the white keyboard try and the white keyboard.
Having seen a couple of reels of desk mats with this same keyboard, I do think that even the dark greyish graphite one will also look good on the red mat and my white keyboard tray. In fact on the reel that I saw, it was a mostly a red mat with a white spider and some lettering on it which is in white. And the graphite keyboard looked good on it. However the off white won me over in the end and ofcourse I didn’t even consider the pink one! I am not a woman but I could gift that to a woman. But you wouldn’t catch me dead with it.
Overall after almost 2 days of typing on it, it is very smooth and quiet. I don’t mind if there is a thocking noise, as there is on my mechanical keyboard. In fact I actually like the noise. But there is also peaceful and smooth typing style that is equally or perhaps even more enjoyable when you have a really nice keyboard like the Logitech K580. I highly recommend it and can give it a 9 outta 10!
