Arsenal 3 Everton 1

I missed the game completely and had to reply on highlights but Arsenal beat Everton 3-1, showing the kind of fighting spirit they will need to stay the course in the Premier League title race after coming from behind to beat Everton 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium. Arsene Wenger was forced to field a reshuffled defence because of injuries to captain William Gallas and Bacary Sagna, but the new-look back four was exposed after just nine minutes when Leon Osman put the visitors ahead.

However, after another enforced change when Kolo Toure was forced off at half-time because of a shoulder problem and England winger Theo Walcott was introduced from the bench, the team had better balance and soon drew level through Samir Nasri. Robin van Persie – who on another day could have bagged himself a hat-trick – nodded in from close range to complete the comeback, with Walcott drilling home an angled effort in stoppage time to give the bruised Gunners renewed confidence for more stern challenges over the next seven months. Abou Diaby came on for his first appearance of the season to replace Nasri – and promptly set up Walcott to make it 3-1 in stoppage time.

You’ve just got  to love this song & video. Alt-Country crooner Kathleen Edwards sings about how someone does the hard work or the donkey work while others may look more glamorous and is in the spotlight all the time. She compares the object of this tirade & herself to several things –

You’re cool and cred like Fogerty
I’m Elvis Presley in the 70’s
You’re Chateauneuf, I’m Yellow Label
You’re the buffet I’m just the table
I’m a Ford Tempo you’re a Maserati

For the non-hockey fans, The Great One is ofcourse Wayne Gretsky (the best hockey player of all time) who was guarded by enforcer Marty McSorley during their years playing together on the same squad for the Edmonton Oilers and later the Los Angeles Kings.
